Well-known Jaguar tuner, Arden, has announced a tuning program that serves as an excellent alternative to the non-existent Jaguar XE SVR by tuning the XE S to deliver 463 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. You may have shed tears when Jaguar proclaimed that it had no plans to build an XE SVR, but now you can officially wipe away those tears once and for all.
Jaguar has made it abundantly clear it won’t be giving the XE sports sedan the SVR treatment, but this tuner has taken matters into its own hands by working on an amped-up XE S. The German aftermarket specialists at Arden are coming out with a comprehensive package focusing primarily on the supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine.
Arden’s program uses a Jaguar XE S so on its own; the sports sedan is already packing a punch. Its main feature is a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 unit that produces a stout 380 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. Pretty good, right? It might be, but Arden found a way to give it even more power courtesy of a software program that helps release an extra 83 horsepower and 98 pound-feet of torque. The result is a Jaguar XE S that now packs 463 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque, enough juice to help it accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 4.4 seconds. The increased output puts the sports sedan in the same vicinity as the reported output — 489 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque — of what was supposed to be the actual XE SVR. Arden didn’t release the performance figures of its program for the XE, but it’s easy to imagine that with the kit in tow, the sports sedan will be able to hit a top speed of more than 155 mph.
Beyond the impressive power and performance upgrades, the British tuner is also throwing a good amount of exterior and interior upgrades. There’s a dual-vented hood that serves aesthetic and technical purposes. A host of aerodynamic upgrades, a sporty diffuser and a set of 20-inch wheels are also available, as are embroidered floor mats and premium leather upholstery.
It may not be an actual Jaguar XE SVR — we’re probably not going to get one anymore — but as far as a solid alternative is concerned, this is going to be as good as it gets. Fortunately, Arden put in the work to make it happen.
