Weird: The Lo Res Car Looks Like A Poor Man’s Tesla Cybertruck

Supposedly inspired by the Countach’s shape, the Lo Res car looks more like a Tesla Cybertruck!

Doug DeMuro recently laid his hands on a very weird-looking, ummm, car? For the sake of a better word, we’ll stick to calling it a car. He laid his hands on a car that’s created by the Dutch Footwear brand, United Nude. Called the Lo res, it is exactly what it’s named – a low-resolution car. It is said to be a Lo-res version of the Countach, but for sake of maintaining the sanctity of the iconic Lamborghini, we’ll stick to calling it a watered-down version of the Cybertruck. No offense, Tesla fans!

Why Was The Lo Res Car Built?

The Lo Res car is arguably the most bizarre car that can actually be driven.

The Lo Res car is essentially a Lamborghini Countach that’s been boiled down to its lowest resolution to get it down to its basic shape.

It was designed by United Nude and was to be used by them at events and stuff to garner everyone’s attention. From that angle, it sure worked. There is a VIN plate that says this is the third vehicle. Not sure if United Nude built more prototypes of the Lo Res. Perhaps it used it for promotion at various events all around the world.

The Lo Res Car Comes With Exposed Mechanicals!

The car is constructed of 12 flat panels composed of polycarbonate entirely. Also, all the panels are see-through. It seems to be based on a modified golf kart chassis and has similarly sized tires, motor, etc. It is powered by a small electric motor that can help propel this unidentified road object up to 30 mph.

The steering column, the suspension, and a whole lot of other mechanicals are exposed and can be seen from the inside. The wheels and tires, however, are covered. Doug takes it for a drive calls it terrifying but quite cool. He could even see the road beneath him.

The Lo Res Car Is Just As Weird On The Inside As It Is On The Outside

The Lo Res can be opened and closed using its keyfob. The fob itself comes with a few buttons that control different functions of the car. Press the button and hold it down and the entire body lifts up and gives you the space to get in. It just opens about 45 degrees, so you essentially have you slide yourself in. There are two leather-wrapped seats inside – one behind the other – but they cannot be moved. The base of the seats is a chrome structure that is also inspired by the lo-res theme.

Instead of a steering wheel, the Lo Res comes with hexagon-shaped steering control. There are the accelerator and the brake pedals, but are far from each other and you’ll need to use both your legs to operate them.

There is a control panel on the right side of the driver with five flip switches on it. The switches control the headlights and taillights, the illuminated logos at the front and back, the interior lights, the doors, and the drive modes.

What Do The Flip Switches Do?

Elaborating on this, the Lo Res doesn’t have any visible headlights or taillights. But, flipping the first switch turns on the dim lights bars at the front and back that don’t even light up the surroundings. The second switch turns on the United Nude’s logos at the front and the back, which is quite important considering why this car was even designed.

Next up is the switch to turn on the interior lights. The interior lights are placed inside two steel door-like structures that need to be opened. Fourth is the switch that opens and closes the car from the inside. And, the last one is the switch that lets you flip into drive mode or reverse mode. There’s also a small display here that shows the battery percentage. Two more small display screens are present above the steering column.

Conclusion

In the end, DeMuro gave it a Doug Score of 35, which surprisingly isn’t at the bottom of the list. It managed to pip the Ferret Tank and the BMW Isetta, the latter being an actual mass-production car!
