Nine years after its debut, the Huayra is still going strong. The Pagani supercar has been the recipient of countless special edition versions over the years, and recently, Pagani teased a mysterious new model in its Facebook page that points to a new special edition Huayra. We only get a glimpse of the mystery model through a silhouette from the rear, but there's no mistaking what this model is. This is the Pagani Huayra R.

Pagani isn’t just teasing the Huayra R; it’s letting everyone know that the track-spec supercar is coming. This is just six months after Pagani founder, Horacio Pagani, confirmed that the Huayra R back in October 2020. The successor to the Zonda R will be powered by a naturally aspirated, AMG-sourced, 6.0-liter V-12 engine that will produce 900 horsepower to go with revving capabilities that go beyond 9,500 rpm.

The silhouette shows a massive rear wing that spans the entire width of the car. The flared fenders and arches also suggest that this car is wearing race-ready tires. Go past the silhouette and look at where the photo was taken; the car is sitting in a garage with a race track just outside.

Pagani was supposed to unveil the Huayra R back in November 2020, but complications caused by the global pandemic scuttled those plans. Nevertheless, the Pagani Huayra R’s arrival is imminent. All shall be revealed then.
