Let’s be real for a minute. We all love action-packed movies focused around cars. We love watching things go boom, and when there’s a good story involved, it’s even better. Sure, the Fast and Furious franchise may be starting to get a little overplayed, especially now that Paul Walker is no longer with us, yet people still flock to theaters to see the next installment of the long-running series as soon as they possibly can. The last movie broke records, despite the fact that some say it’s time to lay "the family" to rest. But, the franchise didn’t die along with Paul Walker, and neither did our desire for action-packed car movies. Hence the reason we’re looking at a trailer for an all-new car movie called Overdrive, which would have one assume it’s a Fast & Furious spin-off – especially considering it was written by the same guy responsible for 2 Fast 2 Furious – but it’s really not. It does have the robbing of trucks, and some pretty sweet action scenes, too. There’s not legitimately illegal drag racing, though, but I mean that kind of went out the window after the first couple of F&F movies anyway, right?

Back to the topic at hand, Overdrive looks to be an action-packed thriller that stars Scott Eastwood, a man who starred in the latest Fast & Furious movie, and some pretty daring truck robberies that would make Dominic Toretto proud. But, there’s a little more of a twist, as this isn’t F&F. Nope, these guys are stealing cars and now you know what it’s like when you cross Fast & Furious with Fast & Furious. There are pretty girls, some sweet cars, and what appears to be a very interesting story line. The movie has already made its debut in the U.K. and will soon spread across the rest of Europe and Asia before showing up in U.S. theaters on October 6th. Some of you are naughty, though, and I know you’re already searching for a pirated version. Well, that’s on you, but don’t tell them I gave you the idea. Check out the official trailer for Overdrive below, then let us know what you think in the comments section.
