What will your new car be worth in five years time?

Buying your new car can be good thing, but it also has its downsides, you have have to fight for the best deal around, travel around the dealers and then wait and wait and wait, until the day arrives when you can finally go and pick up your brand new car. Now you have got the keys and you drive off, so how much will your new car depreciate over the next five years?

I know that this is probably the last thing that you are going to want to think about but this is a serious consideration, the final outcome would depend on the condition of the car on the inside, the outside and mechanically, the amount of miles that you have covered, if you have serviced it regularly and if the car is a desirable second hand car, that somebody is going to want to buy from you or from the dealer that you sell it to.

The car price guide Kelley Blue Book have looked into this and have come up with some figures that will make you think, the average car loses around 65% in value. The top cars for resale value are;

Sedan: Acura TSX

Coupe: Honda Civic

Convertible: Mini Cooper

Wagon: Volkswagen Passat

Hatchback: Mini Cooper

Luxury: BMW 5-series

Pickup: Toyota Tacoma

SUV: Acura MDX

Minivan: Honda Odyssey

Hybrid: Toyota Prius

Having a new car can be great, but costly over the years.
