Lexus was one of the most prominent names in hybrid technology. But for some reason, the premium Japanese automaker could not carry over that momentum into the electric transformation. Does that mean you stay out of the limelight just because the world is talking about EVs? Well, Lexus says no. The automaker has not just been thinking out of the box; it is thinking out of this world. The carmaker is featuring a transforming spacecraft that can fight the aliens in the latest Men in Black movie. I don't understand alien psychology, but I'm sure if Lexus would send any of its huge-grille models to space, they would scare the lives out of those aliens. Problem solved!

Lexus Has Some Career Conundrums

Lexus has been making more appearances in movies than Benedict Cucumberman. Wait, Benedict Tennismatch? I mean the guy who plays Sherlock Holmes. Lexus cars have been seen in movies like Black Panther, Minority Report, and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, to name a few. Although Lexus has not created any groundbreaking cars lately, it sure did build a spacecraft that will either leave Elon Musk surprised, or will hurt his ego and he'll end up making something even faster.

Why Build Cars When You Can Build Spacecrafts?

The spacecraft in question is the Lexus QZ 618 Galactic Enforcer. Wondering what the 0-60 mph figure is? 0.0000000000001 nanoseconds. Step inside the spacecraft and you will find seats with 31-point harnesses to accommodate aliens of any size and shape. So what if they are aliens? Safety is still important (I see Volvo's eyes well up with tears reading this) Lexus has also enforced the Lexus Safety System+ that includes a force field which will the flying vehicle from hitting anything.

Once you're back to earth, the spacecraft transforms into a 2020 Lexus RC F. You don't want trouble with the cops here, do you? Talking about the car, the 2020 RC F comes with a 5.0-litre, V-8 engine under the hood that produces 472 ponies and 395 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Lexus also offers a new Track Edition that shaves around 176 pounds thanks to carbon fiber roof and hood.

My Mind Is Blown

This movie has actually caught my attention now. I had deciphered my thoughts when the movie's trailer had surfaced online. The lack of logic then drove me nuts, but this time, it's something out of the world; quite literally. Lexus Australia encoded the sound of the RC F's naturally-aspirated, V-8 engine into an audio waveform that was transmitted with the open invitation that said, "New Lexus RC F. Earth. We've been expecting you." This message was sent from a radio telescope placed in Canberra, Australia, straight to the Orion Belt. This is not just an invitation, but also homage to the original Men In Black movie where the dying Arquilian, Gentle Rosenburg, tells Jay that the Arquilian Galaxy is on Orion's Belt. Although the galaxy turned out to be on Gentle's cat, "Orion's" belt, the actual reference was to the Orion Belt, that is a series of three stars in the constellation.

What They Had To Say

Lexus Australia's chief executive, Scott Thompson, said, "The Lexus brand is proud of anticipating the needs of its customers before they've communicated them, and we are excited to take that philosophy beyond Earth to new worlds in an innovative partnership while showcasing one of our most evocative powerplants." This invitation was encoded by Swinburne's astrophysics team led by Professor Matthew Bailes. He said, "We're experts at listening to and decoding the naturally occurring radio transmissions from neutron stars but Lexus wanted us to invert that process. We had to find a solution that was both technically feasible, adhered to radio transmission regulations and didn't blow up our telescope."

We Will Be Invaded Very Soon

We have seen automakers and production houses go to crazy extents to market their products. But this is something different altogether. Who knows, maybe even aliens like cars - even if they are Lexus cars! Oh wait, what if an alien is reading this article too? I have to ask my editor if he has encoded any article on this website and sent it through a radio telescope! Trust me, he is capable of doing it!
