There are thousands of drag races online, but this one from DragTimes has caught our attention this time. It’s an epic race between the McLaren 720S and the McLaren Senna on a drag strip. The Senna is the third addition in the automaker’s Ultimate Series, joining the F1 and the P1. Seeing the specs, you might declare the Senna to be the winner in this drag race competition. But, it went up against the 720S, a car that offers F1-like performance. Which one do you think will emerge as the winner?

How Are They Spec’d?

This 2018 McLaren 720S is powered by a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 mill that churns out 710 horses and 564 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a seven-speed DCT gearbox that helps the car sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in 2.7 seconds. It weighs 3,167 pounds. This particular example is stock and equipped with Toyo R888R tires.

The McLaren Senna, on the other hand, is a 2019 model and is also powered by the same 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 mill. Here, however, it makes 789 ponies and 590 pound-feet of torque. It weighs 3,029 pounds and is mated to the same DCT gearbox. It takes 2.5 seconds to sprint to 60 mph. This one, too, is devoid of any mods, and it rides on Pirelli Trofeo tires.

Both cars went up thrice against each other on the drag strip. The 720S doesn’t need any sort of hype to prove it's a strong contender, but the Senna is better on paper. Can it trump the 720S? Watch the video for yourself and see who wins.
