When it comes to the Ford Mustang, the first generation is without a doubt our favorite. In fact, we still dream that at one point the 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 will be in our garage. But we will settle with any other model year from the generation. So, it really hurts to see that someone did something like this to a poor 1966 Mustang. They chopped the roof altogether, transformed the Mustang into a Speedster, and then listed it on Bringatrailer.

As we mentioned, this specific Mustang had its roof, windshield, the A-pillars, and the side windows removed, so the buyer will enjoy a fully open-top experience.

The exterior look was modified with a Mustang Plus Ronster body kit, a Shelby-style hood, a rear tail panel, side scoops and new spoiler. The body is finished in Sonic Blue Pearl with white racing stripes. Part of the package is a new set of 17-inch alloy wheels with faux knock-off spinners and wrapped in Nexan and Zeta tires.

The exhaust system ends with dual-outlet pipes, the frame was reinforced and the car was also equipped with a manual steering rack and unassisted four-wheel drums.

On the interior the seats were upholstered in black vinyl, while the dashboard, door panels, and carpets are also black. There is also a three-spoke steering wheel, a speedometer that shows 140 mph, and a five-digit mechanical odometer that shows 99k miles. The car was also equipped with a JVC AM/FM/CD stereo, a wall of four Explosion subwoofers, a center console, Shelby branding, and stainless trim.

Under the hood the standard engine was replaced by a 302ci V-8 with a Cobra-branded air cleaner, Cobra-branded valve covers, MSD electronic ignition, and an Edelbrock oil breather. There are no words on how much output this new engine delivers, but we do not it is mated to a C4 three-speed automatic transmission.

What do you think, will the car sell?
