One of the things we love about internal combustion engines is the sounds they make. This is especially true when we talk about high-performance and racing engines. With that being said, the LMP grid for the 2023 FIA Endurance Championship will be quite busy. Big names like Ferrari and Porsche are making a comeback, joining alongside others like Toyota and Audi. Scuderia Cameron Glicenhaus is also bringing in a proper challenger and it sounds like the devil.

Enter the SC Glickenhaus 007 LMH. In the beginning, there was some secrecy about what engine the American Le Mans racer will have. Although most people were almost certain it would be a V-8, no one knew where it would be sourced from.

It turns out that the Glickenhaus will feature a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-8 from the same French company that builds Hyundai’s WRC engines. The engine comprises two WRC heads on top of a machined V-8 block. We don’t have exact numbers yet, but from what you can hear below, it sounds epic.

You can definitely tell it has a flat-plane crankshaft, which favors high-end horsepower and allows the engine to rev more happily. Combine that with crisp downshifts and upshifts, accompanied by crackles and pops, and you get a truly epic V-8 racing anthem.
