This 1998 McLaren F1, which has a production number #059, isn't your ordinary F1 due to one unique detail
If you look closely at its front end, it's the only McLaren F1 with these unique set of headlights
The headlights are slimmer and shorter than the headlights of other F1s, and that's because these are straight from the BMW Z1
The reason why this particular unit has headlights from a BMW Z1 is because during the middle of the supercar's production life cycle, they spotted one particular weakness from the vehicle
They realized that the headlights weren't that bright, especially for high-speed driving, and production number #059 became their experimental vehicle for these headlights
As such, this is the only McLaren F1 to come with these sleeker and brighter headlights right out of the factory
This particular vehicle will be placed up for auction at RM Sotheby's on August 18, and you can expect it won't be sold at a cheap price
