Musk had announced last year that the Cybertruck will be Tesla’s last new product in the near future. This year, the automaker will look to work on technologies and other such stuff. Planning for the production of the Cybertruck could’ve also been one of the reasons. That said, Tesla has been proactive in rolling out new features and tech on its cars lately. It recently revealed a new exciting Track Package and Track Mode V2 for the Model 3 Performance. Now, Tesla is working on something called the “Cheetah Stance” that will help the driver get the perfect launch. Will this be rolled out to the existing cars as an update, too?

Does the Cheetah Stance Provide Better 0-60 mph times?

In 2019, Tesla came up with a Smart Adaptive Air Suspension setup for the Model S and the Model X. At that time, Tesla had said, “we’ve also upgraded our air suspension system for Model S and Model X with fully adaptive damping, giving it an ultra-cushioned feel when cruising on the highway or using Autopilot, and a responsive, exhilarating confidence during dynamic driving.” The Cheetah Stance will work around this.

According to a hacker who goes by the name ‘Green’, Tesla is updating the Launch Mode on the Model S and the Model X Raven that will allow the performance vehicles to launch at full power. He mentions that Tesla describes the Cheetah Stance in the release notes as: to improve traction, Adaptive Suspension performs a ‘cheetah stance’ (lowers the front axle) and adjusts damping.

This could basically mean that the while the front axle goes lower, the rear could be lifted up, just like a Cheetah’s stance when it’s about to sprint. Perhaps the owners will be able to sprint quicker and achieve better 0-60 mph figures.

The hacker even uploaded an image that shows the three steps on how to use the new Launch Mode on Tesla vehicles:

What Is The Tesla Track Package And The Track Mode V2?

According to Electrek, this new Launch Mode is being tested in Tesla’s early access program wherein a few owners test new features before they are rolled out to the mass market.

Tesla did the same with the Track Mode V2 and the Track Package with a few bloggers. To brief you about this software, Tesla had launched the Track Mode V1 in 2018 where the software would automatically enhance the power delivery to increase the performance.

You can use the sliders to adjust the power delivery sent to the front or rear axle, as well as stability assist, and regenerative braking. The software also includes:

-* An Accelerometer

-* A G-force Meter

-* Real-Time Telemetry

-* Satellite Maps

-* Video Recorder

-* Option to choose a start and finish line at a circuit so that the lap timer can log accordingly

As for the Track Package, Tesla charges $5,500 for a set of wheels, Michelin tires, tire pressure sensors, brake pads, brake fluid, lug nut covers, and center caps.

Final Thoughts

There’s no update on when the Cheetah Stance will be ‘launched’ (pun intended). Currently, Tesla is manufacturing ventilators for hospitals in the U.S. in their bid to help fight off the COVID-19 outbreak. Perhaps the technology will be put on hold till things get better on that front. What are your thoughts about the Cheetah Stance? Share them with us in the comments section below.
