If there's one BMW that at least to our eyes is truly beautiful, that would be the 8 Series. Its long, elegant design and classic grand tourer (GT) proportions make it one of the most elegant modern BMWs to date. Yet Zacoe thinks there's still room for improvement, and so they released a set of body kits for both the 8 Series and the M8 Gran Coupé.
The body kit begins with the more aggressive front splitter on both models, along with extended side skirts, an extended rear diffuser, and a rear wing in two flavors. The first one is a tall rear wing while the other one is a more subtle ducktail spoiler.
The upgraded exterior package for the BMW M8 Gran Coupé also comes with new black alloy wheels. Oh, and did we also mention that body kits of both models are made out of carbon fiber? Because of course, it should. If you're spending this much money on a car, then you probably have the cash to splurge on carbon fiber parts.
The body kit on both vehicles is pretty much similar, with the standard 8 Series (M850i in these photos) having more subtle carbon fiber exterior parts versus the M8 Gran Coupé. All of these upgrades are all concentrated on the car's exterior, so don't expect any interior upgrades to come with this package.
Likewise, Zacoe did not tinker with the two vehicles' powertrains. In the case of the M8 Gran Coupé, its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V-8 produces 591 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque in standard form or 617 horsepower (but the same amount of torque) in Competition form. 0-62 mph happens in 3.3 seconds for the standard model and just 2.7 seconds for the M8 Competition.
As for the standard 8 Series, there's an 840d that comes with an inline-six turbo diesel that produces 335 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, while M850i uses a detuned version of the M8's engine and it produces 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive (AWD) is standard on the M8 and M850i while it's an optional extra on the 840d.
These upgrades from Zacoe should keep things fresh for BMW's flagship coupe and convertible range as we wait for the facelifted versions of the 8 Series and M8. We already have spy shots of the upcoming models, which means a global launch should happen this year.
