2020 BMW X3 M Competition by AC Schnitzer

2020 BMW X3 M Competition by AC Schnitzer

German tuner jolts Bimmer’s performance crossover to life

AC Schnitzer knows its way around BMW models. That knowledge comes in handy when we’re talking about a comprehensive aftermarket program for one of Bimmer’s resident performance crossovers, the X3 M.

You’re probably thinking the same thing. The X3 M already has 510 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. It doesn’t need more power than what it already has, right? Well, don’t tell that to AC Schnitzer. The German tuner isn’t interested in what’s already there; it’s in the business of imagining what it could become and bringing that scenario to life. The product of all that is this extensive tuning program that not only adds a slew of aerodynamic improvements to the X3 M, but, more importantly, also adds more power to what is already a powerful performance workhorse.

AC Schnitzer hasn’t announced pricing details for the X3 M Competition program, but rest assured, expect to pay somewhere in the vicinity of $20,000 to $30,000 for the program alone.

2020 Ford F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition by Roush Performance

2020 Ford F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition by Roush Performance

Another limited-built stunning creature to walk out of Roush’s factory

There are only a handful of companies in the world that have a reputation and rich heritage like Roush. Roush has been in performance engineering since 1976. The company’s founder, Jack Roush, had a drag racing team in the early 70s, so you can be assured of the quality of work on Roush-modded trucks. Roush has been associated with Ford for decades now and has created a lot of trucks for the Blue Oval. Its latest creation is the Roush F-150 5.11 Tactical Edition. The truck is powered by the same Coyote V-8 engine, but in a different power tune and with few more add-ons to make it an absolute beast. Roush brought the truck to the 2020 SHOT Show in Las Vegas and announced that the production will be limited to merely 150 examples. Talk about exclusivity here!

2020 Novitec N-Largo McLaren 720S Spider

2020 Novitec N-Largo McLaren 720S Spider

Go ahead, right-click your favorite picture and set it as your wallpaper

The N-Largo tuning program from Novitec has reached its fair share of speed demons, especially of the Lamborghini and McLaren ilk. In fact, it was only last year when the 720S Coupé was submitted to the treatment.

Well, it looks like the German tuner isn’t showing signs of cutting down on that practice, because its latest concoction is a wide-body Macca 720S Spider that wears the said N-Largo attire. And it looks a lot like the convertible Senna we’re never going to get, which ultimately shouldn’t raise many eyebrows as the Senna is largely based on the 720S in the first place. Let’s check it out.

2020 Alpina B3 Touring

2020 Alpina B3 Touring

In a world where there’s still no M3 Wagon, this remains the go-to placeholder

Alpina is one of BMW’s most loyal tuners and the latest 3 Series-based B3 models continue to boast with a unique identity and performance figures that irk any M3 owner. The G20-generation B3 Touring is the 462 horsepower stopgap in a world without an M3 Wagon in it. Our only complaint? That we can’t buy this pinstriped grocery-hauler Stateside.

Once upon a time, Alpina and AC Schnitzer were duking it out on the race tracks of the world as BMW’s favored privateers teams. Both received support from Munich and decades of on-track rivalry now see both companies - but especially Alpina - put out some of the best modified cars on the market. So good, in fact, that Alpina has been a manufacturer for over three decades - although you’ll still find BMW logos on the B3. But Alpina doesn’t plan to crash the party of the upcoming M3 Competition either. That’s fair play!

2018 GMC 3500HD Denali by Rolling Big Power and Keaton Hoskins

Now this is what we call a handicap-accessible vehicle!

The GMC Sierra 3500HD Denali by Rolling Big Power and Keaton Hoskins is a one-off truck that showcases custom features designed for disabled people. Unveiled at the 2019 SEMA Show, this truck was created by Rolling Big Power, an industry leading manufacturer of aftermarket parts and Keaton “The Muscle” Hoskins from TV’s “Diesel Brothers.” It is based on the older, third-generation Sierra 3500HD Denali.

The truck was built for Jonathan Barber, who was involved in a coal-mining accident in 2017 that left him paralyzed from the chest down. Fitted with a 14-inch lift suspension, this bespoke Denali truck also features a gullwing door, hydraulic chair lift, and twist-handle controls for throttle and brakes, all designed to make life easier for its disabled driver. It’s fancy on the outside and practical on the inside, but it’s also special enough to draw a lot of onlookers at the SEMA Show or other truck-specific events. In other words, it’s a handicap-accessible show rig that we don’t get to see too often.

2020 Hennessey Resurrection ZL1 1LE Camaro

2020 Hennessey Resurrection ZL1 1LE Camaro

As if the Exorcist wasn’t enough, Hennessey’s back with an even more powerful take on the Chevrolet Camaro

John Hennessey is bringing some divine power to the 2019 SEMA Auto Show. The model is called the Hennessey Resurrection, but don’t confuse the perceived grace attached to its name. The Resurrection is a super-limited, take-no-prisoners, 1,200 horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that can lay waste to any ill-fated automotive soul that gets in its way. Hennessey only plans to build 24 units of the Resurrection with each model priced at around $200,000. That’s right. If you want to be showered by the grace of the Resurrection, you need to pay up some serious cash for the opportunity. This is why it’s worth every penny.

2019 Audi SQ8 by ABT Sportsline

2019 Audi SQ8 by ABT Sportsline

If torque’s your game, this tuning kit should be right down your alley

The Audi SQ8 isn’t the most violent version of Audi’s Q8 SUV lineup. That spot is reserved for the RS Q8. But the SQ8 TDI is potent enough in its own way, and when you get the involvement of noted Audi tuner ABT Sportsline, the result is a face-mashing performance SUV that produces enough torque to make the range-topping RS Q8 feel redundant. The German tuner’s new program for the SQ8 SUV is a masterclass in the art of tuning upgrades. It comes with subtle but important exterior and interior upgrades that complement the power and performance gains that also come with the whole package. The tuning kit is specced specifically for the SQ8 TDI so if that’s your thing, you shouldn’t miss out on this program. If you prefer the gas-powered version that lacks the low revs and fake exhausts, you might as well just wait for the Audi RS Q8 to arrive towards the end of the year. Either way, it’s a can’t-lose proposition.
