Like most hotly anticipated cars, there’s a segment of the car-loving population that is also into the hobby of collecting scaled versions of premium cars, or in some cases, LEGO versions of the same premium cars. The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 counts as one of the most anticipated cars of the car, but don’t expect to see it in LEGO form anytime soon. What you can do, instead, is take matters into your hands — like one person did — and build a 1:20 scale version of the Corvette C8 using used LEGO bricks. It’s not an official LEGO product, but this LEGO Corvette C8 should do until the real licensed one comes out, if it ever does.
Does the 2020 Chevy C8.R Have What It Takes to Win Championships?
The Chevrolet Corvette C8.R race car has arrived, and it is a doozy. The Corvette racer is all set to make its debut at the Rolex 24 at Daytona on January 25, 2020. But before it lays the smackdown on the race track, the Corvette C8.R takes its turn under the spotlight where it’s properly getting the attention it deserves. The Corvette C8.R isn’t just a race car; it also happens to be Chevrolet’s first-ever mid-engine race car to compete in IMSA’s GTLM class. It’s also Chevrolet’s first clean sheet race car design racer since the C5.R debuted in 1999. Through all these firsts, the Corvette C8.R racer takes its place as Chevrolet’s next warhorse, succeeding a race car — the Corvette CR.7 — that won 16 races in its time, including the 2015 24 Hours of Le Mans. Can the C8.R replicate that kind of success? Only time will tell. For now, let’s enjoy the fact that the C8.R is here, and it’s ready to stake its claim as the next great Corvette racer.
The Corvette C8.R Isn’t The First Mid-Engined Racer With That Logo On The Hood
We were all pleased when, right after unveiling in front of the world the first Corvette to feature a hardtop at the Kennedy Space Center, Chevy also showed us the C8.R, Corvette Racing’s new weapon for GTE competitions from 2020 onwards. The race car had previously been teased during the launch event of the Chevrolet Corvette C8 Coupe and we were aware that Chevy planned to take the wraps off both the C8 Convertible and the C8.R during the same event but many still were surprised by the appearance of the silver winged warrior. What could also surprise you is that this isn’t the first mid-engined race car that raced under the Corvette banner.
The moment we laid eyes on the Corvette C8, we immediately started picturing it with a big diffuser in the back, a large splitter in the front, big rims hugged by wide, slick racing rubber, and a carbon-fiber wing hanging from the back. We’d seen glimpses of the C8.R testing at Sebring Raceway in Florida back in December of last year but, at the time, GM was tight-lipped on the subject and it took many months before the American automaker finally confirmed the C7.R will become the swansong of the successful line of front-engined GT racing cars as the C8.R will make the transition to the rear-mid-engine layout on the circuits as well.
2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible Gallery
The 2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible has arrived with a hardtop roof, an increase of 80 pounds or so in weight, and some other significant changes. Highlights include a new rear hatch that doesn’t facilitate viewing of the V-8 hidden behind the rear seats and, now, the rear trunk has its own dedicated cover as opposed to being integrated with the rear hatch as we see on the coupe - this was necessary for the hardtop to be stored when retracted. This might seem a little strange, but it does offer one big benefit: The Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible has the same amount of rear trunk storage as the coupe!
Power output of 495 horsepower with the performance exhaust has remained the same, and Chevy claims the Corvette Convertible can hit 60 mph in around 3 seconds, just a hair slower than the Coupe.
2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Top Speed Run - How Fast Does It Really Go?
The 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray may be the base model of the eighth-generation of Chevy’s legendary grand touring sportscar but its performance figures already suggest that ’America’s Sportscar’ should be soon renamed to ’America’s Supercar’. The Stingray impressed us already with its practicality, its styling, and the fact that it’s mid-engined to begin with - given that GM’s been considering and working behind the scenes on a mid-engined Corvette for over 50 years.
More recently, GM proved it can keep a promise when it announced that the Stingray’s MSRP will slot just under the $60,000 mark making the new ’Vette an absolute bargain. Now we know for sure this is an absolute bargain that can hit 194 mph and we’re impressed once more. Remember, that’s about as much as a Ferrari F430 Berlinetta that cost a whopping $186,925 when introduced in the U.S. some 15 years ago and, of course, the Z06 and ZR1 that are just around the corner will easily surpass 200 mph.
Someone May Have Spotted the C8 Corvette Hybrid but We’re Not So Sure

We’ve seen the race-spec C8.R being tested at Sebring, as well as new prototypes driven on public roads. The most recent C8 Corvette footage includes two cars that seem to be hybrids. 2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06
The 2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Z06 is an upcoming, higher performance version of the eighth-generation Corvette. The C8 Z06 will be the first model of its kind with a mid-engined layout and, much like its predecessor, it will slot between the regular C8 Stingray and the upcoming C8 ZR1. Rumors about the new-gen Z06 have been flying around for quite some time and we already know that it will have a more aggressive body and a more powerful engine. 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray
The 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette is the eighth-generation of the iconic sports cars. Unveiled in 2019 for the 2020 model year, the C8 Corvette marks a massive departure from the C7 and its predecessor. For the first time ever, the Corvette features a mid-engined layout and becomes a full-fledged sports car rather than a sporty two-seat grand tourer. In this new configuration, the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette competes against sports cars like the Ferrari 488 GTB, Ford GT, Lamborghini Huracan Evo, and Audi R8.
Redesigned from the ground up, the C8 is a brand-new car on the outside, but it still sports some trademark Corvette cues. The headlamps, the taillights, and the nose are clearly reminiscent of the C7 model. But the entire is entirely new and boasts more technology than any Corvette from the past.
