2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette Stingray
The 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette is the eighth-generation of the iconic sports cars. Unveiled in 2019 for the 2020 model year, the C8 Corvette marks a massive departure from the C7 and its predecessor. For the first time ever, the Corvette features a mid-engined layout and becomes a full-fledged sports car rather than a sporty two-seat grand tourer. In this new configuration, the 2020 Chevrolet C8 Corvette competes against sports cars like the Ferrari 488 GTB, Ford GT, Lamborghini Huracan Evo, and Audi R8.
Redesigned from the ground up, the C8 is a brand-new car on the outside, but it still sports some trademark Corvette cues. The headlamps, the taillights, and the nose are clearly reminiscent of the C7 model. But the entire is entirely new and boasts more technology than any Corvette from the past. There’s big news under the rear hood as well, where Chevy stuffed a new LT2 V-8 engine. Likewise, the C8 is the first Corvette to feature a dual-clutch transmission, as well as the first of its kind to not have a manual transmission option. The C8 Corvette is also the quickest and more powerful naturally aspirated model of its kind, but more about that in the detailed review below.

2018 - 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE
Unveiled for the 2017 model year, the sixth-generation Camaro ZL1 is by far the most impressive Camaro with forced-induction built to date. Powered by the the same LT4 engine introduced with the Corvette Z06, the latest ZL1 packs 650 horsepower, looks incredibly menacing, and costs a little more than $60,000, an amazing sticker given the performance. But, as incredible as it may sound, Chevrolet just managed to the make ZL1 even better by giving it the 1LE upgrade.
Previously available on the SS model, the 1LE package was made available for the V-6 version too for the sixth-generation Camaro. Now, Chevy devised a similar package for the ZL1 and claims that the supercharged 1LE is the most track-capable Camaro ever, meaning it should outgun the bonkers (and now discontinued) Z/28 too. These claims are backed by racing-based suspension and aero technologies, as well as exclusive Goodyear Eagle F1 tires, and a range of weight-saving measure. How powerful and fast is it? 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
The seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette was unveiled in early 2013 and introduced for the 2014 model year. It replaced the nine-year-old C6 and essentially changed the way enthusiasts viewed the Corvette thanks to its significant upgrades. Besides the more angular and aggressive styling, the C7 also received a revamped interior that no longer made use of cheap plastics. The cabin was finally moved into premium territory, putting an end to decades of criticism. While it continued to use an all-motor V-8, the Corvette gained a supercharged unit with the Z06 badge. In 2017 Chevrolet took things to a whole new level with a new ZR1 model, the fourth since the early 1970s. Powered by a brand-new V-8, it’s the ZR1 with highest output, greatest track performance, and most advanced technology in its production history!
It took Chevrolet some four years to revise the range-topping ZR1, but the wait was definitely worth it. The new supercharged coupe surpasses every rumor we’ve been through so far with a significantly revised exterior, a menacing, race-inspired rear wing, and a supercharged V-8 engine that was designed on a clean sheet. After years of speculation, dozens of camouflaged test cars, and rumors that GM is also working on a mid-engined Corvette, the ZR1 is here to prove that Chevrolet isn’t yet willing to give up on its fantastic tradition and that the ZR1 legend will live on for a few more years. And, for the very first time since the Corvette was introduced more than five decades ago, it’s safe to say that Chevrolet finally has a competitor for the high-end supercars out there. 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 The Exorcist by Hennessey
When a tuning company like Hennessey that’s at the top of its game, there aren’t a lot of places to go to when wanting to make an even bigger impression on the industry. But the American tuner seems to have done just that with its latest humdinger of a project. Is it a coincidence that this new turnkey masterpiece to come out of the tuner’s garage is called “The Exorcist?” I don’t think so since the Exorcist is all the things its name says it is. It’s all sorts of heavenly horsepower goodness, or as Hennessey claims, 1,000-horsepower’s worth.
This is the latest madness that Hennessey has come up with. It’s based on the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, a potent iteration of the Camaro line that already packs 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque on its own. None of those numbers matter though when you line it up against the Challenger SRT Demon and its 840-horsepower and 770-pound-feet of torque abilities. But that’s where Hennessey comes in, bringing all sorts of aftermarket equipment to give the Challenger SRT Demon something to really get nervous about. Ultimately, this is what the people who gave us the Venom GT came up with, and if you think The Exorcist is all bark and no bite, well, prepare to be proven wrong.

The Chevrolet Corvette has been an iconic nameplate in the sports car world since its introduction back in 1953. The early hand-built Corvettes powered by inline six-cylinders gave way to larger production quantity and much larger and more powerful V-8 engines. Through the years, the Corvette became more powerful and more technologically advanced, and now, as we are in the Corvette’s seventh generation, the Corvette is more powerful and advanced than ever before.
The C7 Corvette, which was introduced in 2014, also brought about the reintroduction of the Stingray name. With a year under its belt, the 2015 Corvette arrives with a new eight-speed automatic and an optional Performance Data Recorder.
The 2015 Stingray comes complete with a 6.2-liter V-8 that boasts loads of cutting-edge technology despite its old-school cam-in-block, pushrod design. Making 455 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, the V-8 enables 0-to-60 times under four seconds while achieving nearly 30 mpg highway. Other state-of-the art technology surrounds the engine, including a lightweight aluminum and carbon-fiber chassis, a complex traction system, and either a seven-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
After much anticipation, I finally had the chance to sample the new 2015 Stingray, complete with the all-new (and optional in the Z06) eight-speed automatic transmission and performance exhaust. Fitted with the 2LT Package and ZF1 Appearance Package, but lacking the sporty Z51 Performance Package, my tester took a middle-of-the-road approach to its option list. What if The Empire invaded a planet with an extensive road system and needed a fitting mode of transportation for Darth Vader? Perhaps a Sith Lord would commission engineering droids to build something like this, the Darth Vader Car. Here on Earth, the creative minds at Hot Wheels have designed and built a fully working, large-scale model of their Darth Vader Car.
The idea started back in November of 2013 when the design team came up with the idea for Darth Vader toy car. After the small-scale version was finished, they went big. Built in only two months, the car is completely drivable.
The Darth Car is based on a Corvette C5 platform. Its new menacing bodywork is constructed mostly from fiberglass and carbon fiber, making the car nearly 50 percent lighter than the original C5. Under its lengthy hood still lies a Corvette engine, though this one has been upgraded to an LS3, 6.2-liter V-8 — the engine used in the 2008 and newer C6 Corvettes. Of course, it’s been massaged to make well beyond its stock output numbers. PCW Brands, the car’s builder, says it makes 526 horsepower and hits 150 mph. A six-speed manual transmission delivers The Force to the rear, custom-made wheels and tires.
Loads of special-effects gear is added to bring the Vader Car to life. Darth Vader respirator noises emanate from the grille while light saber sounds play as red lights glow along the rocker panels. Even the cockpit roof opens up like Darth Vader’s helmet. Oh, and there’s also a drift brake lever for, you know, agile maneuvers while in pursuit of Rebel forces.

The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 is the fastest and most powerful production Camaro to ever roll out of a General Motors factory, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. For the 2014 Camaro ZL1, Chevrolet has given the supercharged monster a visual overhaul, added some new equipment and changed what colors are available.
The result is a Camaro that looks better and performs better than ever before. With a Nurburgring lap time of 7:41, it also performs better than a massive collection of machines on the road today. From the aggressive body kit and the louvered hood, to the gargling and barking exhaust note, the latest ZL1 is ready to take care of business.
What hasn’t changed is the engine. The ZL1 is still powered by a supercharged V8 based on the incredible motor from the Corvette ZR1. It is one of the most powerful production V-8s in the entire world, and it turns the Camaro into one of the fastest cars in the world.
Updated 05/23/2014: Chevrolet announced today details for the 2015 Camaro ZL1, with the only updates for the new year including the addition of a new Blue Velvet Metallic exterior paint.This is the final model year for the fifth-generation Camaro.

Once Chevrolet dropped the newCorvette Stingray, it was just a matter of time before the convertible version would hit the market.
Today was the day, as the new Stingray Convertible made its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The convertible version is nearly identical to the coupe version, except of course, its three-ply fabric top that opens and closes at speeds up to 30 mph. The convertible version also features sound-absorbing padding and a glass rear window, which both contribute to a quieter cabin and a more premium appearance.
The new Stingray Convertible will be put on sale in late 2013.

How often do you think, the 2014 Chevrolet SS does not produce enough power? Apparently, it is a performance sedan with over 400 horsepower crammed into its engine bay and still, it isn’t enough for many motorheads. More is always better and in the case of the Chevrolet SS and its V-8 powerplant, there’s even more to be had than just 415 horsepower.
Callaway was first to come forward to inject some pop into the 6.2-liter, V-8 engine with a nice tuning package. With it, the Chevrolet SS pumped out 570 horsepower and 535 pound-feet of torque. Now, that’s what you call a performance sedan. At least, Callaway seems satisfied with the output.
Our friends from Texas aren’t far behind either. Hennessey Performance has put up a teaser video of what we could expect form the world-famous tuning house. The video shows a base-line dyno run of the 2014 Chevrolet SS sedan. On the dyno, the SS clocks 359 horsepower at the wheel and 367 pound-feet in factory-spec, which seems about right.
Although, information about the Hennessey-tuned Chevrolet SS is scarce, we believe Hennessey could be aiming for an output figure of around 600 horsepower. This may be slightly more than the Callaway SS, giving Hennessey a slight lead in tuning the next great Chevrolet sedan.

Transformers 4 is deep in filming major action sequences all over the world this year, with director Michael Bay’s latest tweets from Hong Kong proof enough to love or hate this guy.
As an effects and brand integration expert, Mr. Bay’s Transformers films have a huge fan base all over the world. Since 2007, these movies are directly attributed to more than $400 billion in total attributed revenue from ticket sales at the movie theaters, but also for all the products Mr. Bay integrates into his films.
Product placement is so irritating some times. More so than even Mr. Bay himself, at times, which is a big achievement.
When the brand integration is forced, it ruins the plot’s authentic feel. Seeing a Nokia or Sony smartphone in any music video since 2000 is a good example of bad product placement.
Good product placement means writing the brands into the plot of the movie from before day one.
Chevrolet has been a generous partner for the Transformers films, both footing the bill for a new fleet of Autobots for each film and also marketing the movies pretty aggressively with its own dollars.
The reason for this is simple: full-length action films have a global and multilingual reach far beyond any 30-second television commercial.
Oh, and could our new car be the Star of the film? The 2007 Transformers film debuted the Camaro before it was on sale, and since then has shown interesting concepts for what ultimately became the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
These movie cars take the ’pulse’ of GM’s styling departments by letting them create without production feasibility or engineering limits. They are, in short, the best concept cars Chevrolet makes.

Guess who got his paws on a 2014 Corvette Stingray out in the wild this week?
The joy of hooning this hotly anticipated sports car was spoiled only by having to give it back to Chevy at the end of the day.
Are the touted enhancements to the cockpit, performance and road stance enough to put the C7 on the radar of young enthusiasts for the first time in decades? Or just a bald fatty special like the C5?
Much as the pace and V-8 bellow was to be admired in the C5 and C6, the Vette was too Plastic Fantastic to cause much of a sensation to the uninitiated. The old Vette’s key buyer group of Wal-Mart-shopping "rich" people certainly would not help any car’s cool factor.
But the C7 feels about a million miles from those two Extenze-popping machines.
Despite screeching performance and the all-conquering ZR-1, the C6 Vette was mired in image hell based on some of its buyers. An interior so low rent that catching crabs was a real possibility only confirmed suspicions that America’s Sports Car was just for creeps and perves.
Big, big changes for the C7 line. In a dream scenario this week, we found ourselves set loose in the C7. It was the meat of a day that also included a frightening hour in the Nissan GT-R (that left me trembling with delight) and a brief intro to the lumbering and oddly off-putting SRT Viper GTS.
But what to do in that Nirvana moment: a full tank of gas, the brand-new Chevrolet Corvette C7, and a heavy right foot? We cooked the tires, did a few straight-line blasts, and took as many pictures as the camera would hold.
Luckily, the impression this incredible car left is etched in the memory with the staying power of a brain tattoo.

With the 2014 Silverado bringing a new generation to the legendary line of pickup trucks, it was only a matter of time before Callaway laid its tuning hands upon the model. Callaway is currently piecing together its version of the Silverado and anticipates the 5.3-liter engine to exceed 450 horsepower and the range-topping 6.2-liter V-8 to crest the 540-horsepower mark. These increases amount to minimal gains of 95 horsepower in model’s with a 5.3-liter engine and an estimated 120 horsepower in the 6.2-liter engine.
The biggest addition to the 2014 Callaway Silverado is a supercharger, but the tune will also include some electrical updates and a computer remap. Buyers will also have several optional features available, including: wheels and tires, suspension updates, interior refinements, body modifications, Honker intake systems and DD exhaust systems.
In the released image, we can see that there aren’t many additions to the body thus far. All we can see are some "Callaway" badges and some shiny, new rims.
This makes the second 2014 GM model that Callaway is working on, as earlier this year we got a look at the 2014 Corvette Stingray Aerowagon Concept. Whether you think it is blasphemy or the baddest Corvette mod you’ve ever seen, we can all agree that it is a dramatic sight.
More details will follow, but it looks like even though Chevy likely won’t offer up a competitor for the 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor or the 2014 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor models, at least Callaway will offer up a version that provides some competition.
Update 8/14/2013: Callaway has successfully installed its supercharger setup on the 5.3-liter Eco-Tec engine. There were some electrical issues that the tuner had to overcome, but after a few drive cycles it was working just fine. Callaway will release the final horsepower and torque specs soon. Callaway did announce that its tuning kit for the Silverado will start at $17,395.

Rumors have been swirling since 2011 regarding the Chevrolet SS and we were amongst the first to start discussing it. The rumors cooled off up until a few weeks ago when after 40 years of using the “SS” logo, GM finally decided to trademark it. Later the rumors became even more certain, as OnStar, GM’s in-vehicle communication system, mistakenly put the 2014 model lineup on its site. Within that lineup was a model dubbed the SS Performance.
This all adds up to a solid case that the Chevrolet SS Performance is on its way to the U.S. According to the rumormill, this would also result in the Holden Commodore SS, which was once used as the Pontiac G8, becoming the vehicle that dons the 2014 SS Perfomance badges.
With this release, Chevy would finally have a performance sedan to stack up against the likes of the Charger R/T and the Ford Taurus SHO.

So we’ve already seen the new Corvette Stingray and we have already given you our take on what we think the Corvette Stingray Convertible will offer, so what’s left? Well, we still have yet to see or hear anything about the Corvette Stingray Z06. As we told you before, we highly doubt that GM would simply skip the Z06 this year. Rather, it is holding this release as its “Ace in the hole.”
We honestly think we’re in for something big and we’ve released a rendering of what we think it’ll look like. As for styling, we’ll see the usual additions, including staggered wheels to allow for more meat on the back end, front lower-lip spoiler, a set of ground effects down the side and brake-cooling ducts just aft of the rear wheels. On top of that, we’re willing to bet that GM chooses to black out the silver strikethrough in front grille, giving the front end a sportier look and less of a Jan-Brady-headgear look.
All of the aesthetics are well and good, but what’s under that hood? To be perfectly honest, we really have no idea. GM could totally ruin our Corvette high by dropping the same old 7.0-liter V-8 with 505 horsepower on tap. Sure, that is still a stout engine, but the C7 generation is all about change, right?
We’re leaning toward seeing the long-rumored 5.5-liter V-8 engine with a touch of boost via a supercharger or a pair of turbochargers. We would expect to see somewhere in the neighborhood of 525 to 550 horsepower from this type of engine.
Delivering the power to the rear wheel – car gods forbid Chevy from slapping AWD on a `Vette – will likely be a retuned version of the six-speed automated manual transmission found in the base model. Given the 2012 Z06 hits 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, GM is likely shooting for the 3.5-second mark with the Z06.
For now, however, this is all speculation, and we’ll bring you more official info as it is released. Stay tuned!

In the late-1960s, the Corvette was one of the “cars to beat” in varying racing series. It was also one of the few American cars that stood a chance against the likes of Ferrari, Aston Martin, and Porsche. One car, however, has topped every other Corvette throughout its lifespan: this is the 1968 Chevrolet L-88 Corvette Owens/Corning FIA/SCCA Racing Car with the chassis No. OCF/T.P.I. 002-68.
With its numerous victories in SCCA and FIA races throughout its life, particularly in the ’60s and `70s, this L-88 Corvette is often referred to as the most victorious racing Corvette ever. Now, documentation is scarce on some other Corvettes, so that is technically an unofficial title, but regardless, it is one accomplished piece of machinery.
After its retirement, this particular model was lost in the shuffle and wasn’t found again until its previous owner decided he had to have it. After hiring Corvette specialist, David Reisner, to find this classic `Vette, he finally met the Corvette he had been searching for. It was found at Road Atlanta when a colleague of Reisner overheard a racer claiming his `Vette as being an ex-Jerry Hansen and Owens/Corning car.
After all of this time and money spent searching for this car, it is now being presented at auction by RM Auctions in August 2012.

For the most part, custom cars are a thing of beauty. This latest example offered up by RK Motorsports Charlotte is no exception to that rule. This beastly hunk of metal before you is a 1950 Chevrolet Deluxe coupe that is fully restored and customized to within an inch of its life.
Front to tail, side to side, on the inside and under the hood have all been touched one way or another with the help of numerous custom car shops and custom fabricators. And it all seems to come together is absolute harmony, making a stunning looking piece.
One thing that we know is that a custom car may also be very deceiving, as some people “customize” their cars to hide severe flaws, or the customization itself is severely flawed. The question begging to be answered is whether this 1950 Chevy Deluxe is the real deal or just another poorly thrown together custom rod that looks good from far away.
