The 2019 Chevy Silverado Offers an all-new 3.0-liter Duramax; Revised 5.3- and 6.2-Liter Engines
The Chevrolet Silverado never actually left us, but the debut of the all-new 2019 model feels like a second coming for the Bowtie’s massively popular half-ton pickup. It has a dramatic new look, a lighter packaging, and a staggering number — eight in total — of trim options that’ll make your heads spin in excitement. Best of all, though, is the fact that Chevy is also diversifying the Silverado’s engine lineup, including an all-new Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine that will compliment revised versions of Chevy’s 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8 engines.
2019 Chevrolet Silverado
Chevrolet has pulled the covers off its all-new, 2019 Silverado 1500 half-ton pickup truck. While Chevy teased the truck back in December at the Texas Motor Speedway at Chevy’s centennial celebration, the full details only became available at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Chevy also made sure everyone knew the 2018 Detroit show marked 100 years since the brand launched its first pickup.
The 2019 Silverado is completely new and shares almost zero parts from the outgoing truck. Even the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s are revised for increased efficiency. The truck’s fully boxed frame is now 88 pounds lighter but has 10 percent more torsional rigidity, and the truck’s overall weight has dropped 450 pounds when comparing crew cab V-8 models from 2018 and 2019. Chevy did this by using aluminum. Yes, after years of dogging Ford for building its trucks from recycled beer cans, Chevy has made the switch, too. But not every body panel made the transition – only the parts that swing, which includes the hood, doors, and tailgate. The rest is steel. This includes the bed floor, which Chevy says is made from higher-strength, roll-formed steel than before.

The 2019 Silverado’s 3.0-Liter Duramax Is Chevy’s First I-6 Turbodiesel
Chevrolet is breaking the status quo with its all-new 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder Duramax turbodiesel. Announce in conjunction with the new 2019 Silverado 1500, this light-duty turbodiesel marks a few big milestones for the automaker. It breaks convention by avoiding the familiar V-6 design used by both Ford and Ram’s 3.0-liter V-6 turbodiesels.
First, the 3.0-liter I-6 Duramax is the first straight-six diesel engine Chevy has ever made, and second, it’s the first inline-six produced since the Chevy Trailblazer and its 4.2-liter Atlas I-6 ended production during the 2009 model year.

Chevy Offers the 2019 Silverado in Eight Trim Levels Across Three Groups
The Chevrolet Silverado made its long-awaited debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. If you’re already drooling over the possibility of owning one in the future, you’re in for a treat because the Silverado will have no shortage of trim options to choose from. According to Chevy, the new half-ton pickup truck will be available in eight different trim options, spread across three different ranges. As far as getting your money’s worth, the new Silverado is giving you plenty of breathing room to choose the best trim that suits your needs and your wallets.
Does The 2019 Silverado’s Dash Resemble A Porg?
I might just have an overactive imagination, but I swear I see a Porg in the center console of the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The Porg is a mystical bird-like creature from Star Wars: The Last Jedi and the similarities are just uncanny – especially with the Silverado’s optional brown leather dash treatment. The Porg’s cute little head and pudgy round body have the same shape as the Chevy’s 8.0-inch MyLink screen, HVAC controls, toggle switches, and connectivity ports.
Of course, I’m sure Chevy’s interior designer didn’t glean inspiration from the Porg. In fact, he likely takes serious offense to my observation considering the years he’s spent sculpting and perfecting his vision, and only then to fight for its approval against endless committee meetings and reviews.
Still, It’s going to take me a while for this coincidence to escape my mind. Surely I’m not the only one. Are you seeing this? Tell me in the comments.

Chevrolet’s all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 is making waves at Detroit thanks to its slick design, new interior, and list of high-tech features. One such feature is the power up/down tailgate. Simply press a button and the tailgate lowers and lifts on its own. Button locations include the tailgate itself, the key fob, and inside the cabin. Chevy is the first to offer such a tailgate. Ford did debut a power-release tailgate on the 2015 F-150, but it doesn’t close on its own. Chevy’s power tailgate is available on the higher trim level trucks and comes standard on the range-topping High Country.
Other new features at the 2019 Silverado’s business end include larger CornerSteps and new in-bed storage boxes. The new bumper steps are said to accommodate steel-toe boots, which should be a hit at the job site. The cargo bed also has available storage boxes that secure to the bed walls. These removable boxes offer lockable and water-tight storage for gear while not impeding on the width of the bed floor. A sheet of 4x8 plywood or drywall will still fit between the wheel wells.
Last but not least, Chevy has added a 120-volt household power outlet inside the bed. The three-pronged outlet will run any power tools or tailgating party equipment.

Chevrolet Gives the 2019 Silverado a Proper Diet
Chevrolet promised to turn heads at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show, and it did just that with the introduction of the 2019 Silverado. There’s a lot to unpack about Chevy’s all-new, half-ton pickup truck, and one of the most interesting developments about it has to do with its weight. It may not seem like it in on the surface, but the new Silverado, among other things, is 450 pounds lighter than the current model.

Continuing the modern trend of sneak-peak reveals ahead of official debuts, Chevrolet dramatically introduced its all-new, 2019 Silverado 1500 pickup truck by airlifting the truck under a helicopter on December 16. The spectacle took place at the Texas Motor Speedway in view of the media and members of Chevy’s new Truck Legends owners club.
Chevy hasn’t released much information on the new 2019 Silverado, but we do know several key points. For starters, the new Silverado will come with a Trailboss trim. First seen on the Chevy Colorado, this trim takes the Z71 off-road package and adds a two-inch suspension lift and Goodyear DuraTrac tires. Chevy also says the new Silverado will come with more engine and transmission combinations, more technology and convenience features, and has a “significant reduction” in weight over the outgoing Silverado.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse
The venerable and humble Chevrolet Traverse is borrowing upscale design cues from its Tahoe and Suburban big brothers. The change happens for the 2018 model year as the Traverse moves into its second generation with little more than an engine option and the name carrying over. This unibody, three-row crossover is new from the lug nuts up. It rides on an elongated C1XX platform shared with the Cadillac XT5 and new-for-2017 GMC Acadia. Chevy expects the Traverse to lead the segment in interior volume and third-row legroom, making it a decent alternative to a minivan. It might still be a crossover, but its humility has gone missing.
The Traverse has been around since 2009 and has been Chevy’s version of the Lambda-based GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave. With GM’s movement away from the aging Lambda platform, these vehicles migrated (save yet for the Enclave) to the new CX11 chassis. The 2017 Acadia was first out of the gate, but the Traverse now follows. However, the two are not badge-engineered twin anymore. The Traverse has a longer wheelbase that brings more interior volume and a more stately side profile appearance.
The 2018 Traverse now has two available engines – a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder and the reworked 3.6-liter V-6. Both come mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission. The Traverse retains its transverse engine mounting and standard front-wheel drive configuration. GM’s new part-time AWD system is optional.
Inside, the Traverse can hold eight people in a 2+3+3 configuration. A seven-seater configuration can be had thanks to optional second-row captain’s chairs. New folding mechanisms in the second row allow for easier folding and third-row entry. With both rows stored flat, the Traverse can swallow 98.5 cubic feet of cargo – nearly four cubic-feet more than the Chevy Tahoe.

2018 Chevy Traverse Goes Upscale in All-New Generation
General Motors is slaying the 2017 Detroit Auto Show with new metal, including the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Traverse. This three-row crossover continues the Traverse’s reign of family-friendly utility, but adds a high-class exterior and upper middle-class interior to the mix, finally reliving the Traverse’s ageing design that’s been around since 2009.
Although a mid-cycle refresh for the 2014 model year kept the hot-selling Traverse moving off Chevy showrooms, the 2018 Traverse marks the first generational change in the nameplate’s history. This new second-generation Traverse now has a far more upscale exterior that shares design cues with the Tahoe and Suburban, along with Chevy’s smaller crossovers and sedans.
The 2018 Traverse rides on GM’s new C1XX platform. Though this is the same platform that underpins the 2017 GMC Acadia, the Traverse’s footprint is larger, allowing for more interior space. Its eight-passenger seating remains, making it one of the segment’s most versatile contenders. Optional second-row captain’s chairs reduce seating to seven, but provide an easier third-row entrance while giving second-row passengers more personal space. Chevy says it has 98.5 cubic feet of cargo room and 33.7-inches of third-row legroom. Both figures are expected to be best-in-class for 2018.
Chevy is introducing a new engine inside the 2018 Traverse. Acting as the standard engine, a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine makes 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, which is more twist than the Traverse’s optional 3.6-liter V-6 produces.
Speaking of the V-6, it’s the same carryover 3.6-liter as before. It does get a power boost to 305 horsepower, but torque remains at 260 pound-feet. It comes mated to the same nine-speed automatic as the four-cylinder.
Two new trim levels arrive for 2018. A new RS trim acts as the entry-level model and is exclusively paired with the 2.0-liter turbo-four. At the opposite end of the spectrum, the Traverse gets Chevy’s High Country trim with the same saddle-leather style seating found in the Silverado High Country. Suede accents in the seats, 20-inch wheels, D-Optic LED headlights, and a trim-exclusive dual-clutch AWD system set the High Country apart.
Chevy expects the 2018 Traverse to hit showrooms in the fall of 2017. Assembly will happen at GM’s Lansing Delta Township plant.

Chevy Says All-New Traverse Coming to Detroit Auto Show
Chevrolet is bringing its next-generation Traverse to the 2017 North American International Auto Show. The full-size, three-row crossover is currently one of the oldest vehicles in Chevy’s lineup and is said to receive a bold and refined design with “exclusive D-Optic headlamps” that provide more natural lighting that is comparable to daylight.
The Traverse will continue offering room for up to eight people. Chevy anticipates the Traverse, which will likely be a 2018 model, will have segment-leading legroom for its three, third-row passengers. No details were given in the short press release announcing the Traverse’s debut at Detroit.
However, one important detail is noted. The Traverse, because of its eight-passenger seating, will be larger than the 2017 GMC Acadia – a vehicle that used to share its platform with the Traverse. The new Acadia is now smaller than its previous generation and only provides a maximum of seven seats.
Alan Batey, president of GM North American and brand chief of Global Chevrolet, said, “Nobody in the industry offers a broader, fresher lineup of SUVs and crossovers than Chevrolet. From the all-electric Bolt EV to America’s longest-running nameplate, Suburban, we’ve got something for every customer and lifestyle.”
The revamped Traverse will sell along side Chevy’s other crossovers, including the all-new 2018 Equinox and the 2017 Bolt EV (though some might argue the Bolt is a four-door hatchback). Other crossover and SUV models include the Trax, Tahoe, and Suburban.
Though Chevy wasn’t forthright with information on the new headlights, a quick search reveals D-Optic headlights are a new generation of LED leadlight design with multiple 1x1 LEDs close coupled with injection molded lens optics that provide strong forward lighting with minimal energy requirements.

2017 Chevrolet Cruze Hatchback
Chevrolet has announced its newest model ahead of the 2016 North American International Auto show, the 2017 Cruze Hatchback. Technically already roaming other parts of the globe, the Cruze Hatchback is making its first appearance in the U.S. thanks to spreading acceptance and growing sales of hatchbacks in the States.
“With nine percent market growth in small hatchbacks last year, it’s the perfect time to bring the Cruze Hatch to America,” said Alan Batey, president of General Motors North America and Global Chevrolet. “As Cruze continues to set the tone for Chevrolet globally, it articulates the brand promise of offering cars with the latest technologies, more features and greater efficiency, performance and safety with fresh, distinctive styling.”
The hatchback version of Chevy’s best-selling global car rides on the same all-new platform found under the 2016 Cruze. It also features the same vastly improved interior, updated powertrain, and continues undercutting the previous Cruze’s curb weight.
The 2017 Cruze Hatchback will offer all the same high-tech features as its sedan brother, as well, including MyLink with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, heated seats front and rear, a heated steering wheel, projector-beam headlights with LED accents, and an interior that features French stitching and available leather surfaces.
In the safety department, the Cruze Hatchback offers Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, and Rear Park Assist. Parents can even keen an eye their teen driver with the available Teen Driver feature, which provides driving statistics.
Update 06/16/2016: Chevrolet has announced prices for the 2017 Cruze Hatchback will start at $22,190, making it $195 more expensive than the Cruze LT sedan. The 2017 Cruze Hatchback will go on sale in the fall of 2016.

2016 Chevrolet Volt
Launched for the 2011 model year, the Chevrolet Volt is GM’s first volume plug-in hybrid vehicle. Also sold as the Holden Volt, Vauxhall Ampera and Opel Ampera around the world, the five-door compact has already won numerous awards, including the 2011 North American Car of the Year. The most advanced version of the Volt used a 17-kWh battery that enabled it to return a range of 38 miles in all-electric mode. For 2016, the current Volt is being replaced by a redesigned, second-generation vehicle that delivers enhanced fuel economy from its revised gasoline generator, better performance and a greater electric-only range.
The new Volt has been revamped inside and out, with emphasis on a sportier exterior design and a brand-new drivetrain that’s significantly lighter than its predecessor. The five-door compact is also slightly bigger in its second generation, allowing Chevy to not only increase legroom front and rear, but enable the Volt — previously a four-seater — to offer seating for five. The Corvette hit showrooms in 1953 with a 150-cubic-inch six-pot under its hood and a 10-plus-second 0-to-60-mph time. It was no speed demon, but it was the foundation that the greatness that is the Corvette was build upon. The C1 Corvette was also the last time we saw a production model without pop-up headlights before the C6 generation debuted in 2005. In 2014, the C7 and its wild, European styling hit the market, giving Ferrari and other premium brands a reason to check out what’s going on in America. Following that up was the Z06 in 2015 that made all the Euro supercars stand up and take notice.
With the new 2014 Corvette Stingray already in showrooms, we all knew that we were going to soon see a more powerful version. And now that has become a reality, as Chevrolet revealed the potent 2015 Corvette Z06 at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.
The Corvette Z06 will keep enthusiasts happy until the the new ZR1 model hits the market, if it ever finds its way onto the market.
Just like the previous Z06, the 2015 model, will be offered with a more aggressive exterior look, a more powerful engine, sport suspension and a new, high-performance brake system. General Motors is also offering an optional Z07 kit that will transform the new Corvette Z06 will deliver unprecedented levels of aerodynamic downforce - in fact the best in any GM model ever.

After months of speculation, spy shots and “leaked” 3-D images raising the anticipation level and the excitement of the fanboy in us, here it is folks, The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, and yes, the iconic Stingray name is back since it was last seen in the C3 ‘Vette.
As promised, Chevrolet has taken off the wraps of what’s arguably one of its most highly anticipated cars. This is the day we at TopSpeed have been waiting for since all of this C7 talk started.
Rather than calling it the “Corvette,” Chevy boldly calls it the “New Corvette.” Calling it “new” is absolutely correct, as everything on the car is brand new. From a new design to a new powertrain to a brand new interior, Chevrolet has revolutionized every nook and cranny of the `Vette. But it still has that modern Corvette philosophy that has been retained for the past six generations, maybe even made it better.

Though it doesn’t bring increased power to the table — a privilege reserved for the future Z06 or a ZR1 – the new Z51 package for the Corvette Stingray does bring along significant upgrades that customers can benefit from, if they regularly plunder a track.
With this package installed, your Corvette Stingray will be fitted with a dry-sump oiling system that plays a crucial role while cornering, slightly shorter gear ratios, larger-capacity Bilstein dampers, a rear-stabilizer bar and forged rims that have grown up to 19 inches up front and 20 inches in the rear, an inch bigger than the standard Stingray.
What can arguably be called the most significant addition is the limited slip differential — an electronically controlled hydraulic clutch pack – which modulates the rate at which the differential transfers torque across the axle. When the car corners, the LSD acts like an open differential to reduce understeer, but when power is added, electronic slip diff is engaged to handle the traction and balance it all out.
Along with ride tweaks, the Z51 also focuses on the tweaking the aerodynamics of the Stingray. While the standard one has impressive figures, the Z51 package makes it better with the addition of a rear spoiler to keep it planted to the ground and gaping air inlets at the rear fenders to cool transmission and differential.
People opting for the Z51 package have the option to choose the Magnetic Ride Control that promises track-like performance with a more comforting ride for $1,795.
All of these upgrades play a role in its impressive cornering at 1.0g and a 0 to 60 sprint of less than 4 seconds.
GM has set the package at a premium of $8,005, bringing the total cost for the Stingray Z51 to $60,000. We are still uncertain if the Z51 package will be available on the convertible model; if so, the package total will be $65,000.
Though the C7 Stingray is proving to be a great track-day car, as well as a pleasant cruiser, the Z51 package takes the excitement and thrill of driving the new Corvette Stingray up a notch.

There’s no doubt that the most awaited car of the moment is the seventh-generation Chevrolet Corvette. Earlier today, Chevrolet unveiled the last teaser video for the upcoming sports car, now they announced that those of you interested can watch the unveiling of the new Corvette via live stream on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. EST.
What’s more, we have the link to said stream and you can see the unveiling on the above video feed, so you can watch the C7 `Vette unveiling without buying a ticket to Detroit.
The 2014 Corvette C7 has been teased for what seems like forever and Chevrolet has promised to offer us the best car ever. Teaser images and videos have offered us a first glimpse at the car’s new design language, and “unofficial” leaked images have given us some ideas on what to expect.
The only thing that we know for certain is that the new Corvette will be offered with an all-new LT1 6.2-liter small block V-8 engine that deliver at least 450 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 450 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.

The seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette will be making its world debut this evening at 7 PM, but we decided we can not wait that long and we’ve started to look online for the first images and, of course, we’ve found them. Apparently, the first images of the seventh generation Corvette have been unveiled thanks to the Road & Track magazine, whom accidentally leaked them online and the vigilant guys over Jalopnik found them.
As you can see from the first image of the front, the C7 Corvette will be featuring a new front grille, new headlamps with LED lights, a new hood of course the latest crossed-flag logo.
Everything else remains a secret until this evening, but you do know already the seventh generation Corvette will be offered with an all-new LT1 6.2-liter small block V-8 engine that deliver at least 450 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 450 pound-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm.
With nearly every detail, including extensive 3-D images of the final design, being leaked and featured, we have nothing to do but wait for the C7 Corvette’s official launch on January 13 at the NAIAS. Until that time, sit back and drool over this new teaser of the C7 that Chevrolet has posted online.
Dubbed "Creation,” this teaser focuses on the creation and assembly of the highly anticipated sports car. It shows the lighter, yet stronger, chassis, floor pan, and the marriage of the LT1 6.2-liter small block V-8 engine and transmission assembly into the chassis, a sight to behold...
With Chevrolet gunning for the top spot in performance, precision is a must throughout its build, an aspect Chevrolet is really proud of in the new `Vette.
We can’t wait for its official launch, which marks the dawn of a new era in American Performance. A car that sends chills down the spines of its European rivals and maybe even blow them out of the water (at least that’s what Chevrolet claims).
