Check Out This 2019 Chevy Corvette ZR1 As It Rocks Past the 200 MPH Mark

The Corvette C7 ZR1 is still a very potent machine

The Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1 is, arguably, an instant classic because it marks the end of an era for the Corvette brand being the last of the front-engined models to sport this famous badge. While we’re waiting impatiently for the go-fast versions of the latest, mid-engined ’Vette, let’s all take a moment to remember just how fast the C7 ZR1 really was.

This Five-Car Mashup Rendering Is the Epitome of Unfulfilled Desire

Automakers, please produce this wild mashup of a supercar!

Renderings often serve as a fun expression of what we expect from new cars or the evolution of current cars. Sometimes, people create fun, unique renderings that look back on iconic cars from the past with a modern twist of what they would look like today. Every now and then, however, something truly amazing comes to digital life, and that’s the case with the rendering we’re about to discuss here. In short, someone took styling cues from a handful of cars that are iconic in their own right and created an all new car that has never existed and never will exist. The Hennessey C7 Corvette ZR1 HPE 1200 Can Kick the Hell Out of a McLaren 720S

The Hennessey C7 Corvette ZR1 HPE 1200 Can Kick the Hell Out of a McLaren 720S

There might be a catch, though

The McLaren 720S was built with one thing and mind and one thing only. And that’s blistering performance through a combination of power and lightness. The C7 Corvette ZR1 is a nod to the same creed, but it lacks the McLaren’s innate ability to dance around a twisty circuit. While it’s obviously not as light on its feet like the Macca, this particular ZR1 got a helping hand from America’s controversial tuner Hennessey. The helping hand is the HPE 1200 upgrade, one that turned the Corvette into a McLaren 720S squasher. Or dit it?

2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible Gallery

It’s a looker and Chevy did it right!

The 2020 Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible has arrived with a hardtop roof, an increase of 80 pounds or so in weight, and some other significant changes. Highlights include a new rear hatch that doesn’t facilitate viewing of the V-8 hidden behind the rear seats and, now, the rear trunk has its own dedicated cover as opposed to being integrated with the rear hatch as we see on the coupe - this was necessary for the hardtop to be stored when retracted. This might seem a little strange, but it does offer one big benefit: The Chevy C8 Corvette Convertible has the same amount of rear trunk storage as the coupe!

Power output of 495 horsepower with the performance exhaust has remained the same, and Chevy claims the Corvette Convertible can hit 60 mph in around 3 seconds, just a hair slower than the Coupe.

1927 Chevy Coupe Found inside Manasoo Shipwreck in Lake Huron

Bringing the treasure trove back to the surface could cost a fortune

The Manasoo, a ship that sank back in 1928, was finally found this June and it revealed something unexpected: a 1927 Chevrolet Coupe inside the steamer’s hull. While it’s one of the thousands of shipwrecks lying at the bottom of the Great Lakes, it’s surely one of the few to feature a car onboard.

The nearly-intact wreckage of the ship was found this summer below Lake Huron in Canada and, beyond the unexpectedly good condition of the vessel itself, it also nestled a vintage car that survived through the disaster and was found practically undamaged.

Arguably the hottest and most discussed car to be unveiled in 2019, the Chevy Corvette C8 remains a mystery, with very little official information to run by as of November.
