2021 Chevrolet Suburban
Christmas has come early in 2019 with the surprise release of an All-New Chevy Suburban. In this case we mean, there’s actually a lot of all-new. Interested in more legroom, the Suburban has you covered with an extra 2.3 inches in the second row (now 42 inches) and 2.2 inches in the third row (now 36.7 inches). Cargo room is even up by an impressive 23 cubic-feet with all the seats laid down. All this extra space comes courtesy of the Suburban’s new, 134.1-inch wheelbase, an increase of 4.1 inches (overall length only increased by 1.3 inches.)
It’s more than just space that makes the 2021 Chevy Suburban special, though. When fully optioned, the cabin can be fitted with a total of five display screens:Two rear seat display screens A 15-inch Head-Up display 8-inch digital instrument cluster 10-inch diagonal infotainment display
Under the skin, you’ll find that Chevy’s 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s carry over. For 2021 the 5.3-liter is good for 355 horsepower while the 6.2 comes correct with 420 horsepower, the latter is only standard on the High Country trim. More important than this is the all-new 3.0-liter, Duramax, inline-six. GM says it will be available on all trim levels with exceptions of the Z71 and that it delivers 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s supposed to offer superior fuel economy and it’s a step up for Chevy as no other full-size SUV that it competes with actually offers this diesel engine. Fuel economy has yet to be released.
For now, pricing is a mystery, but the 2021 Chevy Suburban and the 2021 Chevy Tahoe are expected to go on sale in Mid-2020.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
Chevy has finally revitalized is full-size SUV lineup by updating the 2021 Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe. With the update comes a new exterior look that’s bolder and more muscular than before, and a new interior with crazy amounts of new technology. What is arguably more important than any of this, though, are the changes that happen under the skin. Chevy made an all-new chassis, and with it comes a revised adaptive air suspension and a longer rear multi-link suspension that will drastically improve ride quality and handling abilities. On top of this, the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s carry over, offering 355 horsepower and 420 horsepower, respectively. A new Duramax, 3.0-liter, inline-six joins the mix as well, and it offers up 277 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and what Chevy believes fuel economy ratings that will meet or exceed the best in the segment. Towing figures or official fuel economy figures have yet to be released.
On the inside, the biggest change comes in the passenger and cargo room departments. Since Chevy managed to stretch the Tahoe’s wheelbase by 4.9 inches to 120.9 inches total, the Tahoe now offers 42 inches of second row legroom (a 3-inch increase) and 34.9 inches of third row legroom (an impressive increase of 10.1 inches.) Cargo room was also increased by 10.2 cu-ft to 25.5 cu-ft with all the seats in place and 28.2 cu-ft to 122.9 cu-ft with all the seats laid down. On top of that, if you select the right trim an options, you can have up to five display screens:A standard 10-inch infotainment display Optional 8-inch digital instrument cluster 15-inch Head-up display Two 12.6-inch rear seat displays for second row passengers
Overall, Chevy has made major improvements to its full-size SUVS, and pricing has yet to be announced but don’t expect prices to increase too much. The usual trim levels will carry over, including the Z71 and High Country, among others, and you’ll be able to get your hands on the all-new Tahoe when it launches in Mid-2020.
The Chevy Traverse had an identity complex during its first 8 years of life, with the first-gen model being a weird blend of crossover and minivan with GM’s old, not-so-attractive styling inside and out. Fortunately, the 2018 model year became the host of the second-gen Traverse, and it came with a true SUV appearance that doesn’t require the hardcore (and heavy) full-size truck DNA under the metal. As the roomiest three-row SUV on the market without those full-size truck underpinnings, we’ve been wondering how the second-gen Traverse really holds up against competitors like the Ford Explorer and Mazda CX-9. Finally, after two years on the market, we finally got the chance to get behind the wheel to find out for ourselves. This is our experience with the 2020 Chevy Traverse.
2021 Chevrolet Blazer XL
The Chevrolet Blazer XL is an upcoming variant of the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer. Introduced in 2018, the 2019 Blazer is a midsize crossover that revived the iconic nameplate after a 13-year absence and slots between the Equinox and the Traverse in the lineup. The Blazer XL is essentially a longer version of the standard SUV. Spotted testing with heavy camouflage on its body, the Blazer XL will likely debut in 2020.
Word has it that the longer Blazer was developed mainly for the Chinese market, where customers favor vehicles with longer wheelbases. But since the prototype was spotted in Germany, the Blazer XL might make it to Europe as well. South America is yet another growing market that will see the Blazer XL debut in 2020. Although this SUV is scheduled to cross the pond to the United States as well, the fact that it’s going to be built in China might be an issue for Chevy due to America’s import tariffs on Chinese products.
2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 - Driven
In the world of half-ton pickup trucks, Ford has emerged as the market’s technological innovator. The F-150 boasts lightweight aluminum all over its body and turbocharged “EcoBoost” engines under the hood, employing every bit of wizardry to maximize performance and fuel economy without diminishing capability. Meanwhile, the Ram 1500 has doubled down on decadent luxury, with a gorgeous cabin and smoother ride quality. And the redesigned 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500? What’s its specialty? Well. It’s a truck, too.
It’s easy to be harsh on a redesigned vehicle that doesn’t clearly move the needle from its predecessor. And the latest Silverado is the model’s second-straight cautious redesign. There hasn’t been a radically improved Silverado since 2007. Even some famously loyal pickup buyers appear to be shifting their allegiances, with Ram recently overtaking Chevy for the No. 2 sales slot.
All that being said, the 2019 Silverado remains a competitive truck in many respects. Like all the competition, it has a comfortable cabin with an available giant back seat, a quiet ride and tons of optional luxury gear. Like all the competition, it has absurd towing and payload limits that make a mockery of the “half-ton” moniker. And like the other leading full-size pickups, its available V8 engines deliver strong acceleration and surprisingly acceptable fuel economy. All this is to say that Silverado is in the same approximate league as the Ford and Ram. It just doesn’t have a particular standout specialty, even at similarly sticker-shock-inducing price points. Being basically OK at everything isn’t going to win many hearts, but neither is it a complete disaster — especially in a market segment with few models to choose from.
2019 Chevrolet Blazer - Driven
The Chevy Blazer name dates back to 1969 when Chevy introduced the K5 Balzer, a large, rugged SUV with some serious utility and off-road chops. The Blazer name remained in use for this specific model until 1994 when GM decided the Tahoe name was a better fit. In 1983, 11 years before the K5 Blazer was discontinued, Chevy slapped the Blazer name on a smaller SUV known as the S-10 Blazer. From 1990 to 2000, there was a rebadged Tahoe sold in certain markets as the “Grand Blazer.” Despite the different shapes and sizes and designs over the years, there’s one thing all of these models stayed true to, and that was their beastly nature and ability to go anywhere while taking one hell of a beating. This trend continued all the way until 2005 when Chevy discontinued the S10 Blazer and shelved the name for what we thought would be forever. Then, 2019 came, and here were are looking at the Blazer name all over again.
The problem with the new, 2019 Chevy Blazer is that it has attracted polarizing opinions. For some, the new Blazer is too much of a family hauler with little ability to go off-road and, thus, just doesn’t live up to the Blazer name – especially when you consider Ford’s bringing back a boxy Bronco and Ram is bring back the RamCharger. Others, however, seem to like the design of the new Blazer – it’s sporty thanks to its Camaro design cues, has decent interior space, and may even be a good family vehicle. This second group of opinion makers are, obviously, the ones that didn’t look at the old Blazer as a part of Chevy heritage. But this is where we are now, and when we got the opportunity to try out the new Blazer to see how it holds up in the real world, we couldn’t turn down the opportunity. Does it oppose a true threat to the segment, or did Chevy drop the ball? Join us as we explore the all-new Chevy Blazer and how it holds up against the competition.
2019 Chevy Silverado by Callaway
Chevy has been selling the Silverado for decades now. Although the company keeps updating the product frequently, and it serves quite well for the general folks, it does not have enough to please enthusiasts. The Silverado has some real powerful trucks in the form of the heavy duty ones, but there is no truck that is ’fast’; not even in the light pickup category. Ram and Ford have that covered with the Rebel TRX and the F-150 Raptor, but Chevy lags behind here (no, I don’t count the Trail Boss as a fast one). So, it was imperative for an aftermarket manufacturer to take over the reins and offer customers what they are looking for, and, Callaway has taken that position.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD High Country
Chevrolet has offered the Silverado pickup for over two decades now, but the automaker has almost a century’s experience in building them. The moniker was previously used for various versions of the Tahoe, Suburban, and C/K pickup trucks. Chevrolet sold almost 600,000 examples of the Silverado in 2018, which is quite impressive, but it is quite far from the pole position held by Ford. However, Ford is not the problem here. Ram has grown exponentially over the years and has stolen the Silverado’s thunder. Ram sold marginally more trucks than the bowtie in 2018. But, it looks like Chevrolet came armed this time. The 2020 lineup of the Silverado has intrigued quite a few folks, including me. This trim - The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD High Country - is the best the automaker has to offer. Does it have it in it to take on the Blue Oval or Ram?
2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD LT
The civil war in the truck segment seems to be getting more and more intense every day. Ford, with the F-Series, has been at the zenith for as long as one can remember. It looked like Chevy was the one that could stop the Blue Oval with its offering called the Silverado. But over the years, the Bowtie lost steam and has capitulated to not just Ford, but also the underdog known as Ram. Call it hard luck or complacency on part of Chevrolet, but Ram actually trumped Chevrolet by a small margin to take the second spot on the sales chart for 2018. However, Chevrolet seems to have gotten back on track with the 2020 Silverado, and it expects to sell more than the 585,581 examples it sold in 2018.
2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS - Driven
Mustangs and Camaro are so common these days, that one may think their commercial success is more about cheap pricing than real merit. The truth could not be farther and the Chevy Camaro SS is here to remind everyone, especially those of German origins, that American muscle icons are not only alive but Reborn.
The Camaro/Mustang fratricide competition has pushed each generations further in terms of handling and overall build quality. The 2019 Camaro is now a very mature, modern sport car. The high displacement V8 rumbles above the turbocharged imports, and the many years of testing at the Nurburgring is paying of large dividends. Add to the mix a newly found interest for quality interior and you have a car Europeans would dream to put their hands on. So let’s go ahead and dive into this ’Americana driving machine’.
2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD
The 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD made its debut at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show as part of the third-generation lineage of Silverado-badged trucks. It follows in the footsteps of the Silverado 1500 revealed in 2018 in terms of technology and interior design, but features a unique exterior and enhanced capability. Both 2500 and 3500 versions are offered on the platform described as "the strongest, most capable ever."
Although it unveiled the HD’s design in late 2018, Chevrolet kept most of the important details in the vault. Now that it made its public debut, we know that it will be sold with a two-engine lineup and a new transmission. It’s also available in five trim levels, one of which is new, and 22 cab, bed, chassis, and driveline configurations. As of this writing, the Silverado HD offers best-in-class towing capability, but the upcoming Ford Super Duty, also set to break cover in Chicago, might take over with a better rating. We’ll be back with an update as soon as we know.
2018 GM Defense Chevrolet Silverado ZH2 Concept
The Chevrolet Silverado ZH2 is a military, heavy-duty version of the popular Silverado pickup truck. Developed by General Motors’ new military defense unit, it’s powered by a next-generation Hydrogen fuel cell and advanced battery systems.
Remember the Chevrolet Colorado ZH2 from 2016? GM Defense just revived the project, but it’s now using the bigger Silverado truck and newer technology. Okay, so it’s just a concept for now, but it could become a full-time military vehicle in the future. More importantly, the tech under the shell could find its way into the fuel-cell production car that GM promised to deliver by 2022. Until that happens, let’s see what this truck is all about.
2018 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Concept
The fourth-generation Chevrolet Silverado broke cover in late 2017 with a brand-new design on the outside, all-new tech on the inside, and a range of drivetrain upgrades. Come 2018 and Chevrolet offers optional, dealer-available upgrades through its Performance and Accessories division. The Silverado LTZ Concept was created specifically to showcase some of these items before they go on sale.
Unveiled at the State Fair of Texas, the same city where the new-generation truck was introduced, the LTZ Concept is based on the LTZ Z71 trim and features three upgrades from Chevrolet Performance and eight items from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog. It’s not a concept in the true sense, as it doesn’t showcase futuristic designs or technologies, but it’s a good preview for the many ways you can customize a Silverado nowadays. The LTZ Concept will go on display at the 2018 SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas too.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado RST Off-Road Concept
Proving that auto shows have become less appealing these days, the 2018 Texas State Fair has become Chevrolet’s venue-of-choice in revealing the Silverado RST Off-Road Concept. The unique trail-inspired Silverado is one of four concepts that Chevrolet unveiled in the event. The RST Off-Road Concept is arguably the most rugged version of the Silverado among the four concepts it’s bringing to the Texas State Fair. It’s packed with off-road equipment and accessories to showcase the pickup’s might and adaptability when it ventures into beaten paths.
2018 Chevrolet Silverado RST Street Concept
The fourth-generation Chevy Silverado broke cover in 2017 with a ton of new features, including state-of-the-art technology, and upgraded engines. But it’s also a highly customizable truck now, with plenty of features available from Chevrolet Performance and Accessories. Chevy just launched a handful of concept vehicles to showcase these features and the RST Street proves that trucks can look like hot rods too.
Based on one of the Silverado’s less expensive trims, the RST Street looks a bit more aggressive than the standard truck and it also rides lower than usual. Yes, while concept trucks usually ride higher for enhanced off-road capability, the RST Street was conceived for drivers who want a sportier truck. It also previews a new set of fender decals and carbon-fiber-look parts, so it won’t be long until you will be able to customize one just like the concept in the photos.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado Goliath 6x6 by Hennessey
Hennessey has once again thrust itself into the spotlight with another mind-bending creation, called the Goliath. As the name suggests, Goliath isn’t a pee-wee muscle car with turbochargers stacked one on top of the other. It’s not even a demented supercar that can hit 300 mph. Goliath is what its name says it is. Goliath is a Chevrolet Silverado-based 6x6 monstrosity that can probably withstand the apocalypse if it arrived today.
2019 Chevrolet Silverado
Chevrolet has pulled the covers off its all-new, 2019 Silverado 1500 half-ton pickup truck. While Chevy teased the truck back in December at the Texas Motor Speedway at Chevy’s centennial celebration, the full details only became available at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Chevy also made sure everyone knew the 2018 Detroit show marked 100 years since the brand launched its first pickup.
The 2019 Silverado is completely new and shares almost zero parts from the outgoing truck. Even the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s are revised for increased efficiency. The truck’s fully boxed frame is now 88 pounds lighter but has 10 percent more torsional rigidity, and the truck’s overall weight has dropped 450 pounds when comparing crew cab V-8 models from 2018 and 2019. Chevy did this by using aluminum. Yes, after years of dogging Ford for building its trucks from recycled beer cans, Chevy has made the switch, too. But not every body panel made the transition – only the parts that swing, which includes the hood, doors, and tailgate. The rest is steel. This includes the bed floor, which Chevy says is made from higher-strength, roll-formed steel than before.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse – Driven
The Chevrolet Traverse made a big splash into the three-row crossover pond when it debuted for 2009. It offered more interior room than Chevy’s own Tahoe, and at a much more family-friendly price. The same is true for Chevy’s all-new, second-generation Traverse, which debuts for the 2018 model year. It rides on a new chassis, comes with updated powertrains, and classier styling. Inside is Chevy’s latest tech-filled cabin with plenty of creature comforts spread over three rows and seven seats – or eight seats with the standard second-row bench.
To get an in-depth feel of how Chevy’s redesigned Traverse handled a family road trip, I embarked on a 1,500-mile road trip with my wife, daughter, and sister-in-law all piled aboard. The trip took us from sunny Central Florida to the chilly hills of East Tennessee for Thanksgiving. Our chariot was a Premier trim, second only to the High Country trim in the 2018 Traverse’s lineup. That means it came with just about every wish-list item, including heated and vented front seats, heated second-row bucket seats, the MyLink infotainment system with 4G LTE Wi-Fi, USB ports galore, and Sirius XM radio for uninterrupted music over the day-long, 12-hour drive north. Of course, Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth allowed for other choices for the front-seat DJ.
