2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R
Corvette Racing, the oldest continuous program in top-level sports car racing of the modern era, unveiled its next chapter back in October when GM unexpectedly took the wraps off the C8.R, the GTE-spec race car based on the eighth-generation Corvette. It comes with a menacing body kit, a huge wing hanging over the back, and a flat-plane crank, 500 horsepower, 5.5-liter V-8 in the middle. A pair will race in the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship and at Le Mans next year, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.
It was back in 1999 at the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona that a factory-backed racing Corvette first took to the track in an official practice session for a race. After decades of racing in privateer hands, barring some semi-factory-backed efforts that were ultimately canned due to GM’s ban on motorsport-related activities, the Corvette finally competed with backing from Detroit. 21 years later, Corvette Racing is still taking on the world’s best on America’s road courses and beyond and its latest weapon is unarguably the craziest yet.
Latest Update From Leading Corvette Salesman Paints a Clearer Picture of the 2020 Chevy C8 Corvette
If you’re waiting for an all new 2020 Chevy C8 Corvette, it’s only natural that you’re wondering when your allocation is going to come up. And, with production just now kicking off, it’s easy to wonder whether yours will be considered a 2020 or a 2021 model (and what pricing implications that will have on your bottom line.) I’m sure some of you have plenty of other questions too and now, thanks to Mike Furman – one of the most famous Corvette salesman in the world – we have some answers. Keep reading for a full update on the Chevy C8 Corvette and what’s going on behind the scenes.
2021 Chevrolet Suburban
Christmas has come early in 2019 with the surprise release of an All-New Chevy Suburban. In this case we mean, there’s actually a lot of all-new. Interested in more legroom, the Suburban has you covered with an extra 2.3 inches in the second row (now 42 inches) and 2.2 inches in the third row (now 36.7 inches). Cargo room is even up by an impressive 23 cubic-feet with all the seats laid down. All this extra space comes courtesy of the Suburban’s new, 134.1-inch wheelbase, an increase of 4.1 inches (overall length only increased by 1.3 inches.)
It’s more than just space that makes the 2021 Chevy Suburban special, though. When fully optioned, the cabin can be fitted with a total of five display screens:Two rear seat display screens A 15-inch Head-Up display 8-inch digital instrument cluster 10-inch diagonal infotainment display
Under the skin, you’ll find that Chevy’s 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s carry over. For 2021 the 5.3-liter is good for 355 horsepower while the 6.2 comes correct with 420 horsepower, the latter is only standard on the High Country trim. More important than this is the all-new 3.0-liter, Duramax, inline-six. GM says it will be available on all trim levels with exceptions of the Z71 and that it delivers 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. It’s supposed to offer superior fuel economy and it’s a step up for Chevy as no other full-size SUV that it competes with actually offers this diesel engine. Fuel economy has yet to be released.
For now, pricing is a mystery, but the 2021 Chevy Suburban and the 2021 Chevy Tahoe are expected to go on sale in Mid-2020.
Did the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray C8 Post a Sub-7:30 Lap Time Around the Nurburgring?
The production-spec, Z51 Performance Package-equipped 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 has reportedly gotten its first taste of the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Muscle Cars & Trucks is reporting that the next-generation, mid-engine Corvette C8 was able to lap the Green Hell in 7:28.30.
There’s no official word from Chevrolet on whether the Corvette C8 actually pulled off that lap time, but it wouldn’t be surprising if it did. The Corvette C8 was a regular guest at the ‘Ring during its testing phase and Chevy has admitted that it plans to run the mid-engined sports car around the track for some hot laps. Perhaps it’s already done it.
2021 Chevrolet Tahoe
Chevy has finally revitalized is full-size SUV lineup by updating the 2021 Chevy Suburban and Chevy Tahoe. With the update comes a new exterior look that’s bolder and more muscular than before, and a new interior with crazy amounts of new technology. What is arguably more important than any of this, though, are the changes that happen under the skin. Chevy made an all-new chassis, and with it comes a revised adaptive air suspension and a longer rear multi-link suspension that will drastically improve ride quality and handling abilities. On top of this, the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s carry over, offering 355 horsepower and 420 horsepower, respectively. A new Duramax, 3.0-liter, inline-six joins the mix as well, and it offers up 277 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque and what Chevy believes fuel economy ratings that will meet or exceed the best in the segment. Towing figures or official fuel economy figures have yet to be released.
On the inside, the biggest change comes in the passenger and cargo room departments. Since Chevy managed to stretch the Tahoe’s wheelbase by 4.9 inches to 120.9 inches total, the Tahoe now offers 42 inches of second row legroom (a 3-inch increase) and 34.9 inches of third row legroom (an impressive increase of 10.1 inches.) Cargo room was also increased by 10.2 cu-ft to 25.5 cu-ft with all the seats in place and 28.2 cu-ft to 122.9 cu-ft with all the seats laid down. On top of that, if you select the right trim an options, you can have up to five display screens:A standard 10-inch infotainment display Optional 8-inch digital instrument cluster 15-inch Head-up display Two 12.6-inch rear seat displays for second row passengers
Overall, Chevy has made major improvements to its full-size SUVS, and pricing has yet to be announced but don’t expect prices to increase too much. The usual trim levels will carry over, including the Z71 and High Country, among others, and you’ll be able to get your hands on the all-new Tahoe when it launches in Mid-2020.
2021 Chevrolet C8 Corvette by Hennessey
The mid-engined 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 has yet to arrive in dealerships, but Hennessey is already staking claim to an aftermarket program that could provide the Corvette C8 with as much as 1,200 horsepower. Company founder John Hennessey dropped the bombshell, saying that the program would bring a lot to the table in terms of aerodynamic enhancements, new wheels, and, of course, engine upgrade programs with different states of tune.
The availability of Hennessey’s program will largely depend on the Corvette C8’s market launch. The eight-generation ‘Vette was supposed to arrive this year, but General Motors has pushed the start of production to early 2021 — around February or March — due to the UAW strike that lasted a month before ending in October 2019. If you’re dying to get a hold of this 1,200-horsepower, Hennessey-tuned Corvette C8, you might have to wait around a year for that opportunity.‘’
The Chevy C8 Corvette ZR1 Will Be the First AWD Corvette and Will Offer Impressive Hybrid Horsepower
The C8-generation Corvette brought radical changes to the nameplate, but upcoming versions of the sports car will take things even further. We already learned that the new-generation Z06 will feature a twin-turbo V-8 for the first time, and it seems that the upcoming ZR1 will introduce electrification and all-wheel drive to the iconic Corvette nameplate. The latest rumor claims that the ZR1 will hit the road with no less than 900 horsepower.
2021 Chevrolet Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition
Unveiled at the 2019 SEMA Show, the 2021 Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is, in fact, the road-going, street-legal offspring of the Silverado 2500 HD Carhartt concept car shown back in 2016. Only this time, you will be able to actually get one from your Chevy dealership, provided you show enough patience to wait until the fall of 2020 when deliveries are slated to kick off.
Details are scarce for the time being and the 12-month waiting window is certainly far from appealing, but there are plenty of reasons to jump for joy. The Silverado HD Carhartt Special Edition is based on the Silverado 2500 LTZ, which means that in theory, it should be available with a V-8 engine. The only question is which one, as Chevy is offering a choice of two V-8s for the LTZ: a 5.3-liter and a 6.2-liter.

An all-electric Chevrolet Corvette might have seemed like an odd idea a decade ago, but it’s an acceptable thought in 2019. That’s because Chevy already announced plans to electrify the Corvette but, more importantly, it’s because some companies actually converted existing Corvettes to accept EV drivetrains. Genovation is one of the companies, and its modified C7 Corvette is capable of top speeds in excess of 200 mph. Specifically, the GXE just hit a top speed of 210 mph, a benchmark that many sports cars and even some supercars can only dream of.
2020 Hennessey Resurrection ZL1 1LE Camaro
John Hennessey is bringing some divine power to the 2019 SEMA Auto Show. The model is called the Hennessey Resurrection, but don’t confuse the perceived grace attached to its name. The Resurrection is a super-limited, take-no-prisoners, 1,200 horsepower Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 that can lay waste to any ill-fated automotive soul that gets in its way. Hennessey only plans to build 24 units of the Resurrection with each model priced at around $200,000. That’s right. If you want to be showered by the grace of the Resurrection, you need to pay up some serious cash for the opportunity. This is why it’s worth every penny.

Another year, another Chevrolet COPO Camaro. That’s what we can expect at the 2019 SEMA Auto Show when the Bowtie unleashes its latest drag racing masterpiece. The other one — this one — is headed to the auction block, and if looks could fetch a million dollars, the one-off COPO Camaro John Force Edition will be drenched in a downpour of benjamins once it hits the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January 2020. But before it takes the stage, the one-off Chevrolet COPO Camaro John Force Edition will be in attendance at the 2019 SEMA Auto Show. It’s probably the closest we’ll ever get to seeing it up close and personal before some deep-pocketed fellow brings it home with him next year.

According to that outlet, the average cost of repair is $625 per year, $6 less than the average of $631. Frequency of unscheduled repairs is also low, with the average Chevy visiting a repair shop for unscheduled maintenance just 0.4 times per year. As far as severity is concerned, 13 percent of Chevys repaired each year are in for repairs that are considered urgent or serious.
