2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer
Chevrolet has revived an age-old moniker and added to its already crowded lineup. The Trailblazer has returned into the fold after a 12-year hiatus to slot itself between the little Trax and the larger Equinox.
The Trailblazer will be the seventh SUV that Chevy has to offer to the U.S. market. It will sit alongside the Trax, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, and Suburban. The six existing SUVs cover all the bases that a customer looks for when buying a vehicle; so, what was the point of launching the Trailblazer? It was touted to replace the Trax in the lineup, but the latter did quite well in 2019.
2019 Chevrolet Blazer Driven
Think about what makes a Chevy Camaro different from other cars. Its engines are powerful and its suspension is beautifully composed. Its headlights and windows are sinister little slits. You spin its big dashboard vents to adjust the climate control.
The new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer transfers some of that Camaro magic into the midsize crossover class. The exterior design certainly evokes that sporty coupe rather than the Blazer’s heritage as a hardy off-road machine. And inside, sure enough, you spin the big dashboard vents to adjust the climate control. Even the driving experience is a little bit special, with nimbler handling than the midsize crossover norm and a powerful 308-horsepower V6 engine. With the Blazer, though, fun is relative. This is basically a shortened Chevrolet Traverse, not a tall Camaro. On the other hand, the Blazer’s styling sacrifices less functionality than the Camaro’s. Even if it’s less roomy and has worse visibility than most midsize crossovers, it’s still a midsize crossover — and not even one of those dubious “coupe” models that the Germans keep cranking out.
We’ve probably all heard critics grouse and grouse about the Blazer being reborn as a crossover, rather than returning to its roots as a traditional SUV. (Chevrolet discontinued the old pickup-truck-based Blazer in 2005.) But whatever it’s called, the new Blazer fills an obvious hole in the Chevy crossover lineup - between the compact Equinox and the full-size Traverse. It’s priced from $29,995 to $50k-plus and faces competitors that include the Ford Edge, Honda Passport, Hyundai Santa Fe, and Nissan Murano. While the Blazer’s relatively tight cargo space and fast-rising prices make it a tough sell on paper, it’s not without merit once you get to know it. 2019 Chevrolet Blazer
Introduced in 1969, the Chevrolet Blazer survived in many forms until 2005, when the iconic nameplate was retired for good. Come 2018, and Chevy finally revived the name for a new midsize crossover. This time around, the Blazer rides on a unibody platform and boasts a sporty, modern design based on the Camaro sports car.
It may have sounded ludicrous a few years ago, but the Blazer is no longer the boxy SUV that dominated the market back in the day. Instead of rolling yet another conventional crossover that would cannibalize the Traverse, Chevy designed the new Blazer with younger customers in mind and looked at the Camaro muscle car for inspiration. The new Blazer comes to take on the Ford Edge and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it looks like Chevy’s Detroit rivals have plenty to worry about.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse RS
Introduced for the 2018 model year, the second-generation Chevrolet Traverse is a significant departure from its predecessor, boasting a sportier look, state-of-the-art technology, and offering best-in-class maximum cargo room. The old 3.6-liter V-6 was also replaced with a brand-new unit, but Chevy also announced plans to fit a turbocharged four-cylinder in the SUV. The new engine was unveiled at the 2018 Chicago Motor Show in the Traverse RS, the first-ever Traverse to sport a turbocharged powerplant.
Alongside forced induction, this model also gets a few visual upgrades inside and out. It’s pretty much the SUV version of the Sonic RS. It also gets quite a few extra standard features. It’s not the fanciest trim available, but it’s very similar to the Premier model in terms of equipment and price. You can always go with the High Country model if you’re into a more luxurious cabin, but if you’re looking for a sporty appearance, the new RS is the best choice you have. The Chevrolet Traverse is all-new for 2018, and it’s a big improvement over its predecessor.
It sports an all-new design inside and out, and it offers more space for up to eight passengers and their stuff. Going nose-to-nose with the new VW Atlas and other midsize, three-row crossovers, it makes a pretty solid case for itself.
That was the main impression the new Chevrolet Traverse gave me during a week-long test drive. Is this the right crossover for your family? Read on.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox Turbodiesel – Driven
The Chevrolet Equinox underwent a complete transformation for the 2018 model year. It received a handsome new exterior, a vastly improve and more tech-savvy interior, and a few new choices under the hood. The most surprising engine inclusion is GM’s 1.6-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder. It’s the same turbodiesel available in the Chevy Cruze sedan and comes with the same 137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque. In the Cruze, the engine returns an impressive 47 mpg highway when mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission. The question now, though, is how well the turbodiesel performs in the larger Equinox.
To find out, I spent a week behind the wheel of a 2018 Equinox in the mid-range LT trim and the standard front-wheel drive.
Now, I’ve already tested the new 2018 Equinox in its range-topping Premier trim and found it to be a fantastic two-row crossover with plenty of room for four people and their belongings. Its swanky interior offered features like an 8.0-inch MyLink infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotpot. Dual zone climate controls with heated and vented front seats kept me comfortable while its large greenhouse provided great views outside. All told, the Equinox was great, but I still wondered how it would behave with the turbodiesel. Thankfully, I don’t have to wonder any longer. 2018 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Midnight Edition and Dusk Edition
Chevrolet is now offering two new special editions for the high-performance off-road Colorado ZR2 mid-size pickup. The Midnight Edition brings an all-black theme with tons of dark accents and a ZR2-branded sports bar with LED off-road lights. The Dusk Edition brings all the same black accents and the sports bar but allows customers to choose any of the eight other paint colors available on the standard Colorado ZR2. Both the Midnight and Dusk Editions come with new five-spoke, 17-inch alloy wheels painted in black.
The Colorado ZR2 is one of the hottest trucks on the market right now, and Chevy is hoping the added special editions will pour gasoline on the ZR2 fire. Obviously, special edition models tend to sell roughly twice as quickly as standard pickups, so it’s no doubt why Chevys bean counters are happy to offer the blacked-out packages.
According to Jim Campbell, Chevy’s U.S. VP of truck strategy, performance vehicles, and motorsports, “The Colorado ZR2 Midnight and Dusk Edition models offer customers even more personalization choices from the only company with three distinct trucks: midsize, full-size and full-size heavy-duty. Chevrolet offers more choices because the truck market is too diverse for a ‘one size fits most’ strategy.” Basically, it boils down to customers feeling exclusive when they buy and drive a special edition truck.

2017 Chevrolet Equinox Redline Edition
Chevrolet first introduced the mid-size Equinox crossover in 2004, rolling out a variety of additional trim levels and even a special Winter Olympic Games-themed model throughout the course of the first generation’s lifecycle. In 2009, the second-generation Equinox debuted at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit with a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine as standard and an available 3.0-liter V-6. Finally, the latest third generation was introduced on September 22nd of last year with three engine choices, forward collision warning, and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the infotainment system. At the moment, the Equinox is Chevy’s second best-selling model, which means it was shoe-in for the recent rash of Redline special editions introduced at this year’s Chicago Auto Show. Upgrades include just a few tweaks here and there for the styling, while the rest of the car’s mechanicals and interior remain unaltered.
The 2018 Equinox Redline Edition takes inspiration from the Redline product preview first shown in Las Vegas for the 2015 SEMA Show. All the upgrades can be found on the exterior, including in the nose, where a new grille with a diamond-pattern insert and black finish sits front and center. Moving to the sides, you’ll also find the black-out treatment added to the side-view mirror covers, while in the corners sit large 19-inch wheels, also with a black finish. The rear windows continue the theme with an inky black tint, while the various Chevy bowtie badges are also blacked out.
The Equinox Redline package is offered with the mid-grade LT trim level. Joining the model in Chicago are equal treatments for the Cruze, Malibu, Camaro, Trax, Traverse, Colorado, and Silverado.
Each of the new Redline models will be available by the end of the year, with the Equinox Redline Edition slated to hit dealerships by October.

2017 Chevrolet Malibu Redline Edition
Chevrolet launched the ninth-generation Malibu in 2015, discontinuing the previous model after only five years on the market. Redesigned from the ground up and bolted onto a new platform (E2XX), the new Malibu also gained three new drivetrains, including a 1.5-liter four-cylinder and a 1.8-liter hybrid. In 2017, Chevrolet launched the Redline Edition, a limited-edition model based on the Malibu LT trim, at the Chicago Auto Show.
The first special-edition to provide some customization for the new Malibu, the Redline Edition isn’t actually new. The package was first showcased at the 2015 SEMA Show, where it was displayed as the Red Line Series concept. At last year’s edition of the same show, Chevy rolled out a similar concept, this time around called the Malibu Blue Line and fitted with blue accents instead of red.
The production Redline Edition follows in the footsteps of the Red Line Series concept, featuring similar enhancements on the outside. Although not all elements seen on the concept were retained for production, the blacked-out details and the red accents are still there.
“Redline is another example of Chevrolet bringing SEMA concepts to showrooms,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet. “The SEMA show has proven to be a great way to identify customization trends in the industry, and quickly apply those trends to our most popular Chevrolet models. Based on the strong interest Redline attracted at the show, we believe they will be very popular with customers looking for standout cars, trucks, and crossovers.”

2018 Chevrolet Equinox
The second-generation Chevy Equinox hit showrooms for the 2010 model year and went through a refresh for the 2016 model year. Despite the refresh, the second-gen model is due to be replaced for 2018 and GM has finally spilled the beans. The next-gen model sports a revised exterior to go with a new engine line-up that also includes the only diesel engine available in the in compact SUV segment in North America. On top of this, it’s the first member of the Chevy family to get an all-turbocharged, multi-engine lineup. A handful of safety features are available, there’s a new surround camera to talk about, and interior cargo space has increased to 63.5 cubic-feet with the rear seats folded down. It should also be noted that through 2016, the Equinox was a midsize SUV, but for 2017 it has been classified as a compact.
With the Equinox being Chevy’s second best seller, only beat by the Chevy Silverado, it’s not too surprising that Chevy is ushering in a new generation just one year after the face-lifted model made its debut. Of course, because of this, there aren’t as many exterior changes as we’re used to seeing with generational shifts. And, while GM is calling this a 2018 model, it will go on sale in the first few months of 2017. With that said, let’s hurry up and take a good look at this model before Chevy announces a 2019 model.

GM’s decision to overhaul the Malibu just a little more than three years since the current model debuted is not at all surprising. With competitors like the Toyota Camry, Honda Accord or the Ford Fusion around, the eighth-gen Malibu has been struggling sales-wise ever since it arrived into dealerships in 2012. Chevy hopes that will come to an end with the larger and sportier 2016 Malibu that just made its public debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
The beginnings of the Malibu name are tied to that of the Chevrolet Chevelle. That’s because the Malibu was a range-topping trim level of the Chevelle from 1964 to 1977. Featuring added luxury and the same powerful V-8s as the Chevelle, the Malibu went on to become the best-selling badge in the lineup by 1978, when it received its own model line. Although dropped in 1983, the moniker returned in 1997 and soldiered on through 2012, when the eighth-generation model was launched on GM’s Epsilon II platform, shared with the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. The new Malibu became a global vehicle, receiving a range of four-cylinder and V-6 engines, as well as three transmissions choices.
With the 2016 model, Chevrolet aims to turn the Malibu into a more upscale model, as well as a more efficient alternative to segment leaders from Toyota and Honda. Keep reading to find out if GM’s new midsize sedan stands a chance against its main competitors in the U.S.
Updated 12/10/2015: Chevrolet announced that the 2016 Malibu Hybrid LT will arrive at U.S. dealers in the spring of 2016 with a starting price of $28,645. General Motors estimates that the car will deliver 48 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 47 mpg combined making it the best in the midsize car segment.

Chevrolet continues to expand its hybrid and electric-vehicle lineup in 2016 with the introduction of the next-generation Malibu Hybrid. This isn’t the first hybrid-electric outing for Chevy’s midsize family sedan, but this time around the Malibu Hybrid borrows some efficiency tricks from the range-extended electric Chevrolet Volt. Chevy says the all-new Malibu Hybrid will be good for over 45 combined mpg when it hits the streets in the spring of 2016. It provides a technological punch to the Malibu’s 2016 styling refresh, as Chevy works hard to elevate the Malibu’s profile against the high-tech Ford Fusion and Honda Accord.
The Malibu spent the 1990s becoming known as a forgettable rental car, but the refinement of the all-new 2013 model went a long way toward making it more respectable. Many of its competitors have undergone flashy updates in the meantime, though, so the conservative sheet metal wasn’t going to cut it. That’s been addressed with an inside-and-out upgrade for 2016.

The Chevrolet Equinox made its debut as the company’s new compact SUV in 2005, and underwent its first generational overhaul in 2010. Now that we’re set to pass the halfway point of the 2010s, Chevrolet is set to unveil a refreshed version of the second-generation Equinox for the 2016 model year. This new Equinox debuted on February 12, 2015.
There is a lot to take in from this refresh, despite it being more of an evolution of the existing model. What appears to be the goal with this update is an injection of youthfulness to a model that already does pretty well in terms of overall sales. Given it competes in one of the hottest segments in the automotive world, it is no surprise that Chevy was careful in what it changed while still making it noticeably new.

Despite getting a lukewarm reception from buyers, the slow-selling Chevrolet Malibu is still putting on a brave face, an important attribute to have given that Chevrolet has resorted to commercials to tug at the heartstrings of prospective customers.
Be that as it may, the Malibu is still going to be an attendee at SEMA with Chevy deciding to gift wrap the midsize sedan into what its now calling the LTZ Concept.
A new front end design is the first thing you’ll notice about the Malibu LTZ Concept. It’s an eye-catching change that makes you wonder why Chevrolet didn’t do this sooner and potentially save itself from the humiliation of little interest from consumers.
In addition to the modified front, the Malibu LTZ also received a slew of modifications, highlighted by a performance upgrade that includes the addition of a concept Stage Kit, cold-air induction system and a Borla exhaust system. Taken together, the Malibu’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine receives a higher output. No word yet on how much of an increase it is, but considering the standard Malibu has 259 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque on tap, expect figures in excess of 300 across the board with these engine upgrades.
Oh, and there are some styling additions on the Malibu LTZ Concept, including a set of 19-inch wheels from Chevrolet Accessories that are coated in a Sterling Silver finish.

The revised Chevrolet Malibu is now better positioned to compete in the hyper-competitive mid-size sedan arena with a restyled nose, refreshed engine choices and a bump in performance for the Malibu Turbo.
The advertising spend for the launch of the 2008 Malibu was the largest in General Motors’ history, and even today, the memories remain of that cherry red Malibu plastered on every billboard, print and broadcast media outlet. A critical mistake when launching the 2013 model was a press car painted the same red color. The color and ultra-subtle styling evolution meant consumers simply didn’t notice the change and flocked to more distinctive competitors like the new Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata and a broad range of crossover SUV models.
The Chevy Malibu also faced stiff competition on dealer lots from the previous model that was now packing huge discounts in order to clear inventory. For buyers contemplating a new Malibu, the larger back seat of the previous model and a pile of cash on the hood were enough to convince them to go for the older, nearly identically styled model.
Fighting to re-gain attention, the 2014 Malibu packs real interior and exterior updates into the long-running ‘Bu nameplate. The nose marks out the biggest change and shows a new take on the split-bar grille appearance of Chevy sedans. Perhaps most critically, Chevy’s press images show a car in dark grey metallic paint that significantly enhances the perceived value of the car. Anything but cherry red, right?
So how does the revised 2014 Malibu lineup compare with the top sedans in the segment for value, comfort, performance and style? Offered in standard, Eco and Turbo trims, the Malibu is finally out of the fleet-sales doldrums and firmly a contender for the top domestic midsize sedan.

Chevrolet is set to use the 2012 SEMA Auto Show to be a kind of performance and personalization showcase for a lot of its models. We’ve already seen a couple of performance Sonics that are headed to the annual aftermarket show in Las Vegas and now Chevy has announced its intent to bring a performance version of a car that was just unveiled recently: the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu Turbo.
Called the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept, the car comes decked with a basket case full of aerodynamic and performance upgrades, turning what is already the fastest production Malibu into a meaner and more aggressive sports sedan.
On the outside, the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept features a unique exterior paint finish called Berlin Blue Tricoat. Looking at the renderings of the car, the color works pretty well on the Malibu Turbo. From there, an aero package was installed that includes a new front splitter, rocker panels, a new rear diffuser, a boot-mounted wing, clear tail lamp lenses, turbo badges, and a new set of 20" alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli PZero tires. You’ll notice that the Malibu’s front profile looks a lot more menacing than its stock counterpart. That’s because Chevrolet did a little switcheroo, fitting the concept with a custom lower grille and fog lamp grilles with red surrounds.
Inside, the modifications continue with the use of Jet Black leather and Navy Blue suede trim with matching red accent stitching on the Recaro sports seats, the flat-bottom steering wheel, the door panels, and the instrument panel.
Finally, the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept also received a sizable performance upgrade, courtesy of a new cold-air intake system that improves the power from the car’s 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. Considering the Malibu Turbo already nets 259 horsepower, it’s possible that, with these mods in tow, the Malibu Turbo Performance Concept can break 300 ponies easy.
Chevrolet is expanding their Malibu line-up with the addition of a new Turbo version for the LT and LTZ models. The new Turbos will go on sale in Fall 2012 at a starting price of $27,710 for the LT version and $30,925 for the LTZ.
The new Malibu Turbo is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine that delivers a total of 259 HP and a peak torque of 260 lb-ft. This power is enough to sprint the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.3 seconds and up to a top speed of 155 mph. The engine is combined with a Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic, a four-wheel-independent suspension system, hydraulic ride bushings, and premium electric steering gear.
"The all-new turbocharged engine showcases just how capable the new Malibu is, and the turbocharged Malibu is perfect for customers who want a midsize sedan that is fun to drive under a wide range of real-world conditions," said Mark Meyers, GM global vehicle performance manager.

Chevrolet has just announced that a new minivan will make its way into the “Global Market,” which is the PC term for developing markets. In addition to announcing the upcoming debut, Chevy also teased us with a rather revealing image, for a teaser anyway.
This image depicts a minivan that boasts much bolder styling than your average people-hauling minivan. It features wrap-around headlights that come to a sharp point near the halfway point of the fenders. The windshield rakes rearward at a very shallow angle and its roofline actually has a slight curve to it. Really, this “minivan” looks closer to a crossover than an SUV.
Considering that the developing markets that Chevy has in its targets, Indonesia and Brazil, it is no wonder that it would bear the minivan classification instead of crossover. From personal experience, I can tell you that the term “crossover” is not a well-known one in Indonesia and only a handful of cars, including the Nissan Juke and Suzuki SX4, bear that classification. We would assume much of the same is going on in Brazil.
The Spin will be available in both a five- and seven-seat capacity, but unlike American minivans, this one will boast hinged doors – again, bearing more resemblance to a crossover. To remain competitive in these developing markets and allow buyers to be able to fuel this new minivan, it will likely boast a sub-2.0-liter engine as its base level, with its smallest engine likely being the 141 PS (139 hp) 1.8-liter four-cylinder in the Chevy Orlando and Cruze.
Given its size and the fact that its closest competitor will be the 2.4-liter-powered Honda Odyssey, which is far smaller than the American Honda Odyssey, Chevy may offer it with an optional 171 PS (168 hp) 2.4-liter found in the Captiva SUV.
Chevy is set to fully unveil this upcoming minivan/crossover in the next few weeks and it’ll hit showroom floors early in 2013. We’ll update you once Chevy releases this additional info.

As much as we love, or hate, the police, they have always had the most fantastic cars. Sure they are big boats, but they can keep up with most sports cars. The next generation of police cruisers is upon us and this one is from Chevrolet. It’s called the Caprice PPV and it will get an old school motor under the hood. The Ford Taurus cop car will get a fancy EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6, but in typical GM fashion, the Caprice will get a 6.0-liter V8 with 355 horsepower and 384 pound-feet of torque. One would think that with that many liters and that many cylinders GM would be able to get a bit more power out of the big V8.
We already know what to expect with the normal car, but we are anxious to find out what kinds of toys will be offered on the “Detective Package”. The car will get an undercover look, which is great because it shows us what the car might look like when it goes on sale for us normal folks.
The car will use the same underpinnings as the normal Police PPV and there will be seven colors available.
