Chevrolet brought a very unique pickup truck to SEMA that is a sweet blend of the company’s rich history and the ‘electrifying’ future. Called the E-10 concept, the product has reincarnated from a 1962 Chevrolet C-10 pickup truck. If you’ve been following the concepts at SEMA this year, you will immediately strike a comparison with the Dodge Lowliner. However, this low-slung pickup truck comes with an electric powertrain under the hood. So, does this bold truck live up to the hype it has created over the last couple of days? It sure does!
2020 Chevrolet COPO Camaro John Force Edition
Another year, another Chevrolet COPO Camaro. That’s what we can expect at the 2019 SEMA Auto Show when the Bowtie unleashes its latest drag racing masterpiece. A total of 70 units of the 2020 Chevrolet COPO Camaro will be made, but only 69 will be unleashed to the masses. The other one — this one — is headed to the auction block, and if looks could fetch a million dollars, the one-off COPO Camaro John Force Edition will be drenched in a downpour of benjamins once it hits the auction block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction in January 2020. But before it takes the stage, the one-off Chevrolet COPO Camaro John Force Edition will be in attendance at the 2019 SEMA Auto Show. It’s probably the closest we’ll ever get to seeing it up close and personal before some deep-pocketed fellow brings it home with him next year.
AEV To Take the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison To the Next Level at SEMA 2019
It seems like there is an ever-growing demand for off-road-friendly performance pickup trucks in the market today. There’s only so much an automaker can do about it, and aftermarket tuners capitalize on this limitation. Not that an automaker can’t go berserk with its truck, but just that it is not financially viable for them to put their resources into something that won’t sell in huge numbers. Well, here’s American Expedition Vehicles, an aftermarket tuner that has collaborated with Chevy to roll out a special package for the Colorado ZR2. The company will be bringing this reinvigorated package to the 2019 SEMA Show later this year.
Ringbrothers is a company “with an affinity for muscle cars,” as they say on the official website, which usually specializes in low, ground-hugging vehicles designed to go around corners very well. At this year’s edition of the SEMA show, however, they brought out their first off-roader, a tastefully restomodded Chevy K5 Blazer, based on the full-size model built from the early 1970s to the early 1990s; the Blazer they used is from 1971, and boy did they deliver...
The company sells many components they make themselves, and it seems this modded K5 got as many of them as they could fit on it. What resulted is probably one of the best looking modded off-roaders I’ve ever seen, which blends decent off-road capability with a head-turning look, strong performance courtesy of an LS3 swap, and some modern gadgets too.
If this is the Ringbrothers’ idea of an off-roader, then we ask them to make more of these, or start selling them as scale models, because I want one to put on my office desk.
Chevrolet is previewing the COPO Camaro 50th Anniversary Special Edition package that it will offer from 2019 with an extreme racing version of it at the 2018 SEMA show. The 2019 COPO Camaro race car it revealed today marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the original COPO Camaro, which Jim Campbell, GM U.S. Vice President of Performance Vehicles and Motorsports, said is “one of the most enduring legacies in drag racing, with a powerful past and fast future.”
2018 Chevrolet ECOPO Camaro Concept
First introduced in 1969 and revived in 2012, the COPO Camaro celebrates 50 years with a revised version at the 2018 SEMA Show. For the first time, the drag racer is joined by an electric version. Called the ECOPO Camaro, it’s just a concept car for now, but it’s probably a preview of things to come.
The ECOPO Camaro was built in partnership with pioneering electric drag racing team Hancock and Lane Racing, as well as with the involvement of Patrick McCue, the man behind the record-holding “Shock and Awe” electric dragster. Showcased alongside the 2019 COPO Camaro and about two dozen other Chevy vehicles at SEMA, it also suggests Chevy might offer an electric motor as a crate "engine" in the future.

Chevrolet is showing its newest crate engines in three vintage concepts
The 2018 SEMA Show is just around the corner, and U.S. automakers are slowly introducing new upgrades and accessories. On top of a few customized vehicles, Chevrolet also prepared three new crate engines. The cool thing about this is that they will be displayed in a trio of vintage, restomod-style vehicles.
2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS Shock
The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro was just updated for the 2019 model year, now sporting a brand-new face that makes it more aggressive than ever. As it is always the case, Chevy began rolling out various upgrades and accessories for its popular coupe. With the 2018 SEMA Show just around the corner, Chevrolet created the Camaro Shock, an SS-based pony car that showcases a new exterior color and various accessories and concept parts.
Finished in Shock Yellow, hence the Camaro Shock name, this production-ready concept is packed with accessories and performance parts created by the same designers and engineers responsible for the Camaro itself, for seamless integration. While some are already available, other parts will hit the market later this year and in 2019. As usual, you can shop online for the parts on Chevrolet’s website and choose to have them delivered either at home or at a dealer delivery. You can also choose to install them yourself or have them fitted by professionals at a Chevy dealership. Let’s see what’s new.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ Concept
The fourth-generation Chevrolet Silverado broke cover in late 2017 with a brand-new design on the outside, all-new tech on the inside, and a range of drivetrain upgrades. Come 2018 and Chevrolet offers optional, dealer-available upgrades through its Performance and Accessories division. The Silverado LTZ Concept was created specifically to showcase some of these items before they go on sale.
Unveiled at the State Fair of Texas, the same city where the new-generation truck was introduced, the LTZ Concept is based on the LTZ Z71 trim and features three upgrades from Chevrolet Performance and eight items from the Chevrolet Accessories catalog. It’s not a concept in the true sense, as it doesn’t showcase futuristic designs or technologies, but it’s a good preview for the many ways you can customize a Silverado nowadays. The LTZ Concept will go on display at the 2018 SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas too.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado RST Off-Road Concept
Proving that auto shows have become less appealing these days, the 2018 Texas State Fair has become Chevrolet’s venue-of-choice in revealing the Silverado RST Off-Road Concept. The unique trail-inspired Silverado is one of four concepts that Chevrolet unveiled in the event. The RST Off-Road Concept is arguably the most rugged version of the Silverado among the four concepts it’s bringing to the Texas State Fair. It’s packed with off-road equipment and accessories to showcase the pickup’s might and adaptability when it ventures into beaten paths.
2018 Chevrolet Silverado RST Street Concept
The fourth-generation Chevy Silverado broke cover in 2017 with a ton of new features, including state-of-the-art technology, and upgraded engines. But it’s also a highly customizable truck now, with plenty of features available from Chevrolet Performance and Accessories. Chevy just launched a handful of concept vehicles to showcase these features and the RST Street proves that trucks can look like hot rods too.
Based on one of the Silverado’s less expensive trims, the RST Street looks a bit more aggressive than the standard truck and it also rides lower than usual. Yes, while concept trucks usually ride higher for enhanced off-road capability, the RST Street was conceived for drivers who want a sportier truck. It also previews a new set of fender decals and carbon-fiber-look parts, so it won’t be long until you will be able to customize one just like the concept in the photos.

2017 Chevrolet ZR2 Race Development Truck
Chevy brought two custom Colorado ZR2 pickups to SEMA this year with some heavy modifications that make them even better off-road. One was built in collaboration with American Expedition Vehicles and meant for over-landing while this, the Colorado ZR2 Race Development Truck, is built for high-speed desert running. In fact, many of the upgrades on this truck were first tested on Chad Hall’s Colorado ZR2, which ran in the “Best In The Desert” race series.
The list of modifications isn’t overly extensive, showing just how capable the Colorado ZR2 is from the factory. The truck’s crown jewel is its DSSV spool valve shock absorbers from Multimatic. DSSV shocks were developed for supercars and F1 race teams, so its adoption for an off-roader was unconventional. The factory truck also has better ground clearance than a regular Colorado, along with bespoke bodywork that improved approach and departure angles. Adding to its capability are front and rear electronic differential lockers – something not found on any other Colorado. Still, Chevy improved on the ZR2’s design for hard-core racing.

2018 Chevrolet Silverado Performance Concept
Folks like to modify their rides for a variety of reasons. Some like to add a dash of personalized style, while others want to enhance the vehicle’s natural talents. However, some of the most interesting results come from the desire to take a vehicle out of its comfort zone, and as a result, create the unexpected. The Chevrolet Silverado Performance Concept is a great example of something from that third category. While the Silverado is best known for its ability to haul goods, Chevy decided to see what would happen if it built a Silverado that could also haul ass. As such, this 2018 model gets a boatload of extra power thanks to a new concept supercharger system that ramps up output from the truck’s 5.3-liter V-8 engine by more than 100 horsepower. Of course, while gobs of extra power is always appreciated, a well-rounded build needs the complementary gear to go with it, and the Silverado Performance Concept delivers with additional performance parts, styling upgrades, and more.

2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 AEV Concept
While SEMA certainly has plenty to offer when it comes builds that are low and fast, the annual vehicle modification extravaganza also offers loads of rough-and-ready off-roaders, many of which are rocking big suspension and the right stuff to tackle whatever Mother Nature has in store. The Chevy Colorado ZR2 AEV Concept is one good example, which looks to add to the Bow Tie’s already impressive performance truck cred as one part in a duo of custom Colorado concepts. Unlike its desert-running counterpart, the AEV focuses more on overland capability, adding robust off-roading exterior protection, enormous 35-inch tires (plus the requisite suspension lift), and even a fridge in case you get hungry while stomping around the great outdoors.
And that’s about right, considering AEV stands for American Expedition Vehicles, a private Montana-based manufacturer that’s been making comprehensive off-roader packages for the past two decades. “Our collaboration taught us that Colorado makes a great platform for building an off-road truck that can take you as far out as you want to go, safely,” says AEV’s founder, Dave Harriton. $350 Is All You Need To Make Your Go-Fast Corvette Go Faster
The auto industry can be a weird business, right? Imagine spending upwards of $50,000 on a tuning kit that makes your car go one second a lap faster on a race track. It seems weird to even think about, but it happens all the time in this industry so nobody bats an eye anytime a tuning firm charges whatever it does so long as the results are justified. Chevrolet, though, has a business that doesn’t revolve around these power and performance upgrades, and that partly explains why the automaker is charging a pittance for a software upgrade that ends in the current-generation Corvette getting a decent performance spike. So much so, in fact, that it improves its lap time around the automaker’s 2.9-mile Milford Roads Course race track. The cost of this software update? $350.
I’m not sure if it qualifies as the bargain of the century, but it certainly looks like one. Granted, the software update is non-obtrusive, so there’s really no physical changes to the Corvette’s physical makeup. All it does is modify the sports car’s Magnetic Ride Control suspension, which in turn leads to improved handling and ride quality for the ‘Vette. The result, as General Motors VP of performance vehicles and motorsports Jim Campbell puts it, “is a greater feeling of balance and more linear responses to driver inputs.” It’s the kind of improvement that won’t appear physically on the Corvette, but owners of the sports car are expected to feel it instantaneously. Even better, availing of the download won’t mess up your Chevy warranty since the software update is factory-developed and can only be installed by dealerships.
For now, the updated software is compatible for a handful of Corvette models, including 2014-2016 Corvette Stingray Z51s, 2016 Stingray, and 2015-2016 Corvette Z06s. Other Corvette variants are expected to receive the software update at a later time, so if anybody here owns any one of these Corvettes, there’s little reason to go the aftermarket route to spike up your sports car’s performance. All you need to do is go to Chevrolet directly, and it’ll take care of the business for you at a cost that’s presumably cheaper than an aftermarket lug nut.
2017 Chevrolet Suburban Luke Bryan Concept
Chevrolet is no stranger to the SEMA Show, and this year, it’s brought a pretty interesting Suburban. Chevy teamed up with country singer Luke Bryan to build the “Luke Bryan Suburban” based on the singer’s hit song, Hutin’, Fishin’, and Lovin’ Every Day. Naturally with a song title like that; this Suburban is built to tackle the great outdoors. The truck not only features a lift kit, experimental appearance add-ons, and a decked-out interior, but also a reengineered tailgate that swings sideways with a full-size spare tire, a rear-facing third-row bench, and a windowless cargo area.

2018 Chevrolet Camaro SS Trans Am TA4-Spec Race Car
The sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro arrived in 2015 with a redesigned exterior, new tech, and new engines and, in just a couple of years, it spawned many new versions. While the Z/28 has yet to make a comeback, Chevy introduced a new ZL1, and it revised the 1LE package for every variant available. In 2017, Chevy took things up a notch and combined the stock SS with upgrades found in the ZL1 1LE to create a very potent race car for the TA4 class of the Trans Am series. And, it brought it to the 2017 SEMA Show.
Although the SEMA Show is usually about modified road cars, the Camaro SS Trans Am TA4 feels at home in Las Vegas. That’s because unlike most race cars, it’s heavily based on the production Camaro SS coupe. This isn’t surprising, as the Trans Am series has been fielding production-based race cars since day one. And, there’s a very logical explanation as to why this track-only car was brought to SEMA.
Developed for Todd Napieralski, this race car was built in 2016 in cooperation with Chevrolet Performance and Total Performance Racing. Back then, the ZL1 1LE components were mostly concept parts, but since then they have been incorporated in the production Camaro ZL1 1LE and many are now available for purchase from Chevrolet Performance. That means that any race car enthusiast with a sixth-generation Camaro SS can use them to build a more competitive race car or even a TA4-spec Trans Am coupe. Pretty cool, huh?

2018 Chevrolet COPO Camaro
Chevrolet has launched its 2018 COPO Camaro with an all-new, 302 cubic-inch V-8 and “Supercrush” orange paint with black racing stripes just like the 2018 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition, which debuted alongside it. Both cars will make their first public appearance next week at the 2017 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. And, while anyone can order the Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition, the COPO Camaro is a race-bred monster built exclusively for the dragstrip and limited to 69 examples per year. Hopeful buyers have to win Chevy’s lottery for the chance at COPO keys.
The COPO Camaro has a rich history that dates back to 1969 when Illinois Chevy dealer Fred Gibb ordered 50 Camaros with the all-aluminum ZL-1 V-8 from Chevy’s central office production order system, hints the COPO name. Basically, these were special-order cars that proved insanely quick. Soon, 19 other COPO Camaros in similar configurations were ordered by other eagle-eyed dealerships. Yenko Chevrolet also got in on the action, ordering 201 COPO Camaros with a 427 cubic-inch iron-block V-8 in 1969. Sadly, the original COPO Camaros were a one-year-only phenomenon – that is, until Chevy decided to build its own COPO Camaro with its all-new, fifth-generation Camaro for 2012. 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition
Stop the presses if you’ve seen this one before. Chevrolet and Hot Wheels have been business partners for quite some time, and the fruits of that partnership have given us a handful of Camaro Hot Wheels special editions over the past years. We’re getting a new version of the same special edition at the 2017 SEMA Auto Show, though this time, we’re also getting something extra on the side courtesy of the Hot Wheels’ 50th Anniversary Edition.
Special is as special gets, and we’re getting two doses of it with the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition. The first of these two SEs come in 2LT and 2SS coupe and convertible trims of the muscle car. The aesthetic elements of the Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition is a cool callback to the 1968 Camaro that was one of the first cars to be immortalized in Hot Wheels format. In fact, the ’68 Camaro holds the distinction of being the first car to get a Hot Wheels casting. 50 years later, that milestone is being celebrated in typical bombastic Hot Wheels fashion with the inclusion of the Hot Wheels package on the purpose-built 2018 COPO Camaro drag race car. These two special edition Camaros are expected to headline the Camaro contingent at SEMA, and there’s no reason to think that any other custom-built version of the pony car will compare to the appeal of these two commemorative crown pieces.

2017 Chevrolet Traverse SUP Concept
The Chevrolet Traverse will never be mistaken for a scene-stealer, but every so often, the humble crossover gets its turn in the spotlight. That much we can expect from the Traverse SUP Concept when it paddles its way to the 2017 SEMA Auto Show. Dressed to impress, the Traverse SUP Concept takes the idea of a versatile ride to a new level. It’s not just a family-hauling three-row crossover anymore. It’s become an all-purpose vehicle that’s as adept at transporting groceries as it is at hauling beach and outdoor paraphernalia.
That’s pretty much the identity of this concept, and contributions from Thule and Riviera Paddleboard help bring it to life. Most of the upgrades do come by way of Chevrolet Accessories so, in some ways, the concept also acts as a showcase of sorts for a lot of Chevrolet Accessories that are on track to hit the market soon. There’s certainly a lot to look forward to when the Traverse SUP Concept hits the scene at the 2017 SEMA Auto Show in Las Vegas. Who knows, this interpretation of the crossover could inspire you to get creative with your own Traverse. The model has shown that it’s capable of wearing many different masks, and the one we’re going to see at SEMA is just one of the lot.
