Chrysler is further expanding their 300 line-up with the addition of the new 300S models, offered in both V6 and V8 versions. The new models will arrive at Chrysler dealerships in the fall of 2011.

"No chrome . . . no wood . . . matte carbon fiber finishes . . . unique black or Radar Red leather . . . our biggest wheels, and world’s first integration of Beats by Dr. Dre audio technology – the best standard audio system period. This is the new Chrysler 300S and it has an attitude that comes through loud and clear," said Olivier Francois, President and CEO — Chrysler Brand and Lead Executive for Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC. "For the Chrysler brand, it’s not just about design, it’s about substance. And with the Chrysler team working with Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine for months, I know the new 300S with its mapped sound waves, designed algorithms and unique Beats Audio components are a direct result from our model collaboration – a partnership between an OEM and the music industry – that makes the 300S perform with the power to play music as the artist intended it to be heard."

The competition

The new Chrysler 300S will take on models like the Dodge Charger, the Volvo S80, and even the Audi A6 or Infiniti M. But while all the prices are almost the same, driving a 300 is simply not the same thing as driving an A6. Almost every model in the competitor list offers a more luxurious interior and a better driving experience.

The Charger features the same 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine as the 300S V8, the S80 features an entirely new twin-turbo five-cylinder 2.4-liter turbodiesel that delivers a total of 205 HP, while the Infiniti M gets a 420 HP 5.6 Liter VVEL Direct Injected V8 engine. You will easily notice that the 300S is not the less powerful nor the most powerful model on the market. But the S version will add some features that will bring the 300 model a little bit closer to its competitors.

The S models add a few more elegance to the line-up

Better equipped

Two engine options

Is still not as impressive as the competitors

It looks simple yet decent on its exterior. I adore its classy interior. However, I am not truly impressed by this vehicle.

I love the luscious interior of this. It looks very luxurious and sporty on that. Moreover, I’m so fascinated with the exclusivity of this vehicle, and it’s a good thing that it has an impressive engine.

I love the red interior touch of this Chrysler, and I must say that it truly looks so simple but very decent on its styling and it is already very appealing on that, and the engine that it had been is I think quite good enough for it.

Chrysler 300S made of a more classy modernized car concept. One of the integrated cars build with finest technology, shared and created with great mind. Absolutely high profile car.

Another top-of-the-line car in the market nowadays, I find it a smooth drive with my stereo turn up out loud.

The image that has a smokey background looks funny. It makes me think that the car is in flames or overheated. HAHA! And one more thing, the car looks old. I think it will fit for my grandpa.

I have to admit that this car looks good and the performance as well. However,
I think its not that competitive when compare to other model.

But, as it is currently, I am pretty much OK with the engine that they have put into this one. After all, this baby is likely not going to be a sprinter.

  (474) posted on 04.29.2011

Yeah, besides they will have to consider the technical side of things. For instance, they would probably need to determine whether they will have to do major mods in order to fit a more powerful engine.

  (345) posted on 04.28.2011

Well, they would probably do that one, but not immediately. You see, they would still need to assess whether the whole thing would stand up in the market.

  (570) posted on 04.27.2011

But I think they would also consider that one. After all, Chrysler would want to attract customers, and what better way to get them than with a more powerful car.

Yeah, I would agree that this one is a bit underpowered at just over 200 horsepower, I which they could ramp it up a bit. Same thing goes for the top end model.

I like the design of this car it looks so classy and luxurious though I think that the engine is not that powerful.

  (613) posted on 04.26.2011

This Chrysler car looks like a Audi in the front. BTW, I don’t think that the engine of this car is kind of powerful. I find the competitor more powerful compare to this one.

Well, one thing that I am hoping with this one is that it isn’t going to be that much pricey. But, considering the features here, it would still be a bit on the high side.

Well, the specs on this one is really rather impressive. But then again, what can you expect from Chrysler? They really made good on their statement here.
