Put a cherry on top of this special-edition Citroen C3 Picasso because it sure as heck is mouth-watering.

The French automaker already has a slew of special edition models for the C3 Picasso, but the company figured that there’s no harm in adding another member to the family.

So that being said, feast your eyes on this cherry-popping ride straight from the C3 Picasso family, the “BLACKCHERRY”.

If first impressions could kill, then this hot hatch should be tried for murder. While the car’s technical specs aren’t exactly what you’d call a game changer – a 1.6-liter turbo diesel engine that produces 90 horsepower doesn’t really strike fear in anyone – the overall look of the car, especially the spectacular use of the two-tone cherry red and glossy black finish, is cherry hotness personified.

The exterior paint is complimented by the same use of the two colors for the car’s interior detailing, as well as on the side mirrors, the roof rails, and even on the wheels. Speaking of the wheels, there’s nothing mundanely ordinary about those, either. Keeping up to the overall theme of the BLACKCHERRY, Citroen used a set of 17-inch cherry red diamond-tipped alloy wheels on the special edition hatchback, providing a fitting completion to one hot piece of hatchback – a cherry on top of the sundae, if you will.

Although the number of C3 Picasso BLACKCHERRY models wasn’t announced, the car is expected to come with a sticker price of £15,195 – about $24,000 at the current exchange rates.

Citroën’s multi award-winning supermini MPV, C3 Picasso, will receive some smart new updates from 1st November. The biggest small car on the road is now available with a new Euro 5 HDi 110 engine and 6-speed transmission, plus there is the addition of a Connecting Box (USB and Bluetooth® connectivity) as standard specification on VTR+ and Exclusive trim levels. Citroën has also introduced a tasty new limited edition to the innovative MPV’s line-up - the C3 Picasso BLACKCHERRY.

Stylish and distinctive, the C3 Picasso BLACKCHERRY is based on the VTR+ model and is powered by a refined and efficient 1.6HDi 90hp engine. With smart cherry red and glossy black exterior and interior detailing, the model also benefits from a premium black metallic body colour, roof bars and dynamic 17" cherry red diamond-tipped alloy wheels. A generous level of standard equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control with speed limiter, Connecting Box (USB socket & Bluetooth® system), electrically adjustable door mirrors and front electric windows.

With the introduction of Citroën’s new Euro 5 1.6HDi 110hp engine, the C3 Picasso reaffirms its place as one of the most environmentally-conscious MPVs on the road today. A refined and efficient powerplant, fuel economy is just under 59mpg over a combined cycle with CO2 emissions down 5g/km on the Euro 4 unit to just 125g/km.

The Citroën C3 Picasso range now benefits from a full Euro 5 compliant engine line-up and all HDi models qualify for free VED in the first year. The petrol 1.4 VTi 95hp VT and the 1.6HDi 90hp VT have been re-homologated and now offer improved fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions. Combined cycle fuel economy increases from 42.8mpg to 44.1mpg and 60.1mpg to 61.4mpg respectively. CO2 emissions are down 4g/km on both models, resulting in reduced BIK tax rates (down 2 bands). The VED also reduces for both models, from band G to F and band D to C respectively.

Helping to reduce fuel consumption and maintain low CO2 emissions, all C3 Picasso models are now fitted withMichelin Energy™ Saver tyres. These efficient tyres mean specifying larger 17" optional alloy wheels on Exclusive models will no longer have an impact on CO2 output.

Keeping occupants connected and entertained, Citroën’s Connecting Box will be fitted as standard from the VTR+ trim level. The smart system offers a USB socket for connecting MP3 players to the audio system and a Bluetooth® connection for hands-free calls and allowing users to stream music wirelessly from Bluetooth® enabled devices.

It looks so small on its platform! smiley Well, Citroen is notorious with a cute mini vehicle! I am just wondering if what will be the interior of it, will look like? I hope it was impressive as well.

I was so ready to get down on Citroen for having the gall to name one of their cars after such a famous painter before I realized that the Lincoln division of Ford is most probably named after the 16th American president. Whoops.
