A New Rendering Sheds Light on What a Modern Z3 Coupe Might Look Like

A New Rendering Sheds Light on What a Modern Z3 Coupe Might Look Like

BMW should see this right away

Back when BMW unveiled the Concept 4, it managed to polarize the whole gearhead community. Then the Bavarians did it again at the 2020 Geneva Online Motor Show, with the Concept i4.

In all fairness, we were already accustomed to the ginormous grille from the Concept 4, so the astonishment was of a lower intensity. But what if BMW launched a concept car that stayed faithful to the good old, normal-size kidney grille?

RUF's Rodeo Concept Simply Begs For Your Giddy-Up

RUF’s Rodeo Concept Simply Begs For Your Giddy-Up

You can have it with a naturally-aspirated or a turbocharged engine

Every now and then, what we like to call a boutique manufacturer drops a rad concept car with more than just hype in mind.

It’s the case of the RUF Rodeo Concept, which we’re absolutely sure was concocted to sample the potential buyer’s interest in an off-road-going sports car that retains the classic Porsche 911 shape we all love and crave but is fitted to perform in mediums where smooth asphalt roads are unheard of.

You'll Want to Race This Time Attack-Kitted Mazda RX-7

You’ll Want to Race This Time Attack-Kitted Mazda RX-7

But unfortunately you can’t

When most people hear the words ‘Mazda’ and ‘RX-7,’ their minds instantly project the image of the third-generation FD model. And for good reason. This was the last chapter in the RX-7 saga, the best-looking of them all, and at that time, the ultimate interpretation of the Wankel rotary engine.

There’s no wonder that so many gearheads love the third-gen Mazda RX-7. It’s beautifully designed, lightweight, and it handles like a charm out on the open road. Plus, it makes for a mean donor vehicle for drift cars and as you’re about to see, for a time attack car, too.

In The Future, This Bugatti Semi (Hyper) Truck Could Help Transport All the Crap You Buy on Amazon

In The Future, This Bugatti Semi (Hyper) Truck Could Help Transport All the Crap You Buy on Amazon

Or, you know, it could carry a platoon of rogue human-opressing robots akin to those in “iRobot”

Bugatti is no stranger to building fast cars with four-digit horsepower figures and excessive high-speed capability. The best so far was that “longtail” Chiron that hit 304 mph and later became the Chiron Super Sport 300. Soon, the company will venture into the super SUV market as well, although we’re not holding out hope for a 300-mph SUV. But, what will Bugatti be doing in the future? Imagine a world where highway speeds approach the speed of sound or when moving a package (or people, for that matter) from one coast to the other takes a matter of hours. When that happens, maybe Bugatti will have something similar to this overly intricate Hypertruck concept.

2020 AIWAYS U6ion

Chinese concept SUV previews all-electric competitor for BMW X6

The 2020 Aiways U6ion is an electric crossover concept that the Chinese brand unveiled online during the virtual 2020 Geneva Motor Show. The 2020 U6ion broke cover alongside the 2021 U5, which will be the company’s first vehicle to hit the European market.

The 2020 U6ion previews a coupe-style SUV that will likely share underpinnings with the 2021 U5. Much like its sibling, the 2020 U6ion boasts a bold exterior design and a premium interior. It also looks ready to go into production as none of its design cues and technologies seem far-fetched.

2020 GFG Style Vision 2030 Desert Raid

2020 GFG Style Vision 2030 Desert Raid

Forget the bizarre name, we need more vehicles like this

GFG Style’s Vision 2030 Desert Raid was supposed to take the stage in Geneva, but a debut deep in the dunes of the Sahara desert would have been a more appropriate way to introduce this begging-to-be-hooned off-road hypercar.

Sure, it looks like the sort of car the likes of Dan Bilzerian would drive on Mars, but come to think of it, why not? We wouldn’t miss a chance to shoot up some sand in this bad boy, and we’re guessing most rich people out there think the same.

2020 GFG Style Vision 2030

An electric supercar for the sandy dunes of Saudi Arabia

The 2020 GFG Style Vision 2030 is one of three concept cars that the company owned by Fabrizio and Giorgetto Giugiaro unveiled during the live streaming press conference that should have been a real thing at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.

The 2020 Vision 2030 isn’t exactly new, as the design company unveiled it for the first time in November 2019 in Saudi Arabia. The reason for that, says GFG Style, is that the Vision 2030 was conceived for the Saudi Arabian roads. While it looks like a supercar, it rides higher than usual so it can cope with gravel and even sandy terrain. The big news is that it’s fully electric.

2020 GFG Style Bandini Dora

2020 GFG Style Bandini Dora

An all-electric barchetta inspired by 1990s designs

GFG Style, the weirdly named company run by Giorgetto and Fabrizio Giugiaro, launched three new concept cars at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, including the Bandini Dora. A barchetta-style supercar that seems inspired by designs from the early 1990s, the Bandini Dora is a fully electric "hedonistic, open, two-seater car, designed for outdoor leisure." It’s also supposed to be a nod back to the "quintessential of sports cars manufactured by Bandini in the 1950s," even though it’s way too angular compared to vehicles from that era.

2020 BMW Concept i4

BMW has finally unveiled the concept version of its upcoming all-electric sedan

Despite the Geneva Motor Show getting canceled at the last minute due to the coronavirus scare, most of the automakers decided to unveil the vehicles at the same timelines, although on digital platforms.

BMW revealed the i4 Concept that previews what we can expect from the production version slated to release in 2021. To put it simply, the i4 will essentially be a 4 Series Gran Coupe with an electric powertrain. Will people accept it based on its looks?

2020 Hyundai Prophecy EV Concept

This prototype is triggering a lot of Audi TT deja-vus

Hyundai is one of the first carmakers to make a move and unveil a vehicle that was supposed to take the stage at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show. Of course, the coronavirus had other plans, so we’ll have to settle for the online debut of this sleek-looking, all-electric prototype.

2020 Renault MORPHOZ concept

2020 Renault MORPHOZ concept

The Morphoz Concept represents a future where cars transform and what’s yours isn’t always yours

Renault, like all other automakers, were forced to skip the Geneva Motor Show, but that sure didn’t stop it from unveiling what will probably be written in history as the weirdest futuristic concept of 2020. The Morphoz is, essentially, a vehicle that can transform based on range need, from a shorter, city car to a longer travel car. It sounds like the Morphoz will be a city car by default and would require you to stop by a station and swap to a larger battery if you plan to take a longer trip. The batteries, whether in the car or not, will be used to power infrastructure when not in use. I tend to speak too soon about a lot of things, but I’m going to come right out and say that this thing will never see production, but it could represent the future of automobiles, so here’s what you need to know about it.
