Gone is the 2.5-liter flat-four that motivated the previous-gen 718 Boxster and Cayman GTS.The new 718 duo adds the 4.0 badge and with it, a naturally-aspirated flat-six mill that’s bound to tickle the fancy for a lot of Porsche purists.
What’s more, the 4.0-liter engine is the exact same one currently found in the Porsche 718 Boxster Spyder and 718 Cayman GT4, but it’s been detuned a little. Oh, and according to Autoblog3, the four-cylinder-powered models will be retired after the 2019 model year.

2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8.R
Corvette Racing, the oldest continuous program in top-level sports car racing of the modern era, unveiled its next chapter back in October when GM unexpectedly took the wraps off the C8.R, the GTE-spec race car based on the eighth-generation Corvette. It comes with a menacing body kit, a huge wing hanging over the back, and a flat-plane crank, 500 horsepower, 5.5-liter V-8 in the middle. A pair will race in the IMSA Weathertech SportsCar Championship and at Le Mans next year, so keep your eyes and ears peeled.
