Who said electric cars can't be fun, and most importantly, who said CUPRA is not going to survive? In fact it did survive, and is doing more than that: it is impressing the world with every car it unveils.

Its last creation - the Tavascan Extreme E Concept - is a 100% concept car built with off-roading in mind. It also offers a second glimpse to the CUPRA's future Tavascan - or, the company's second 100% electric model after the Born announced a few months ago. As a reminder, we got a first look at the Tavascan back in 2019 when a concept with the same name was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

What's special about the CUPRA Tavascan Extreme E Concept?

Of course, do not expect a production version of the Tavascan to look anything like the concept, but a few design elements will most likely be carried over. You have to remember, the Extreme E Concept is a race car specially designed for Extreme E series, so it needs to be a little bit more aggressive and extreme-looking.

The lighting is set into a 3D printed frame - a very efficient method, considering it can be done in only 6 hours. So, during racing conditions, when anything can happen, this solution will probably be very handy.

A very cool feature of the concept is its body structure made out of flax fibers – extracted from the flax plant.

In true CUPRA spirit, the concept in finished with copper accents and features parametric texturing, dynamized lines, and a CUPRA logo designed with 3D effect.

CUPRA didn't reveal any specification numbers for the Tavascan Extreme E Concept, but it did announce the 0 to 62 mph sprint will be made in about 4 seconds - meeting the race series’ regulations.

We can't wait to see how the concept will perform in the upcoming Extreme E series, but most importantly how the production version will end up looking when it will be unveiled in 2024.
