The Dodge Challenger Stars & Stripes Edition is a special-edition package for the 2020-model-year Challenger. Essentially a visual upgrade with some unique features, the Stars & Stripes Edition pays tribute to the men and women who served the United States. The package is available with three trims, the GT RWD, R/T, and the R/T Scat Pack.

Dodge says it launched this package because it has the highest percentage of active military buyers in the industry, while the Challenger and Charger have the highest percentage of active military buyers in their respective segments. Let's find out what this package adds to the muscle car in the review below.

What Makes the 2020 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Stars & Stripes Edition

- Center double stripe - U.S. flag decals - Black badges - Black wheels - Bronze interior accents - Black cloth seats - Standard engines - Costs only $1,995

While it doesn't have any extra features or sportier add-ons, the Stars & Stripes package adds a few cool accents to the coupe. The exclusive Satin Black stripes that run across the center of the car are flanked by thinner silver stripes on each side, while the fenders have black American flag decals. All the badges on the front and rear fascias are black on this model, as are the multi-spoke wheels. If you opt for the Scat Pack model, you'll also get bronze calipers for a cool contrast with the black rims.

You can combine the exclusive stripe package with several body colors, including Destroyer Grey, F8 Green, Granite Crystal, IndiGo Blue, Maximum Steel, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle.

The interior is also limited to some accents, but the black cloth seats stand out thanks to their embroidered bronze stars. There's also bronze accent stitching all over the place, as well as an Antique Bronze dashboard badge. Dodge also added gloss-black accents on the center console and door panels, and dark brushed bezels for a bit of glitz.

Under the hood, the Stars & Stripes Edition is a standard Challenger, so it depends on what model you pick. The GT RWD is the lowest trim available with this package and comes with the 3.6-liter V-6 rated at 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. This unit mates to Dodge's eight-speed automatic transmission. Go with the R/T Stars & Stripes, and there will be a 5.7-liter V-8 under the hood. This mill cranks out a solid 375 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of twist. Transmission choices include the standard six-speed manual or the optional eight-speed automatic.

If you need more oomph, you can also order this package with the R/T Scat Pack, which features Dodge's 6.4-liter V-8. The larger Hemi generates a whopping 485 horsepower and 475 pound-feet of torque and comes with the six-speed manual as standard. Optionally, you can get the eight-speed automatic. The Scat Pack version also comes with four-piston Brembo brake calipers as standard. You can order the Brembo brakes on the GT RWD and R/T models too, but only as part of the optional Performance Handling Group.

The Stars & Stripes Edition package costs $1,995, which means that the most affordable model, based on the GT RWD, will set you back $32,390. The R/T Stars & Stripes costs $36,290, while the R/T Scat Pack Starts & Stripes fetches $41,990. If you're eligible for Dodge's "Honoring Those Who Serve" program you will get a $500 discount on the package.
