2020 Dodge Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition
The Dodge Challenger is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and Dodge is rolling out a special treat for fans of the muscle car with the Challenger 50th Anniversary Edition. The special edition Challenger is not a traditional stand-alone SE model. Instead, it is a special edition trim package that will be available in seven different colors on four Challenger trim models: the GT RWD, R/T Shaker, R/T Scat Pack Shaker, and R/T Scat Pack Shaker Widebody. Only 70 units will be built in each color for each trim. That adds up to a total of 1,960 units. The cost of the 50th anniversary trim will vary depending on the Challenger trim. Prices range from $4,995 to $5,995.

The 2020 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak is the fourth-generation drag car based on FCA’s two-door muscle car. Based on the modern Challenger, like all its predecessors since 2008, it features drag-specific upgrades and its certified for NHRA and NMCA competitions. In short, it’s a turnkey package that turns the streetable Challenger into an ideal dragster for both amateur and professional racers. 2019 Dodge Lowliner Concept by Mopar
Thanks to shows like SEMA, aftermarket companies are able to exercise their creative sides in bringing out the funkiest concepts which, otherwise, wouldn’t have garnered a lot of attention. And, when the products are from brands like Mopar, you know that you’re in for a treat. Mopar will be bringing two concept trucks to the SEMA – a Dodge D200-series ‘Lowliner’ pickup truck and a 1500 Rebel-based concept. We’ll be talking about the former one here, and to say the least, Dodge sure had fun reimagining this truck from the 1960s.
A Dodge Viper Drifting in the Rain is a Treat For All Of Us
It’s been a few weeks since the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed, and we’re still getting a steady diet of videos from the event. Not that anyone’s complaining, least of all me. I’ve come to enjoy these video parachutes, and one that we haven’t seen yet is this video of a Dodge Viper drift car that partook in the hill climb. Driven by drifter extraordinaire Dean Kearney, the Viper drift car snakes its way up the hill climb in ways only the Viper can. Extra points also go to Kearney, who managed to complete the hill climb even in the middle of a rain-soaked course. Then again, Kearney’s not your average drifter — he’s a veteran of Formula DRIFT — and this particular Viper is not your typical drift car, either. Check out the video and watch the Viper going sideways in the rain. It’s worth the next two minutes of your mornings.
2019 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack Stars & Stripes Edition
The Dodge Challenger Stars & Stripes Edition is a special-edition package for the 2020-model-year Challenger. Essentially a visual upgrade with some unique features, the Stars & Stripes Edition pays tribute to the men and women who served the United States. The package is available with three trims, the GT RWD, R/T, and the R/T Scat Pack.
Dodge says it launched this package because it has the highest percentage of active military buyers in the industry, while the Challenger and Charger have the highest percentage of active military buyers in their respective segments. 2019 Dodge Charger
Dodge vehicles have always been known for their bold, in-your-face looks. To spice things up a little, Dodge has decided to bring back the lime green color that was seen on almost all the Dodge cars in the 1970s, and it’ll do so at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. With the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 1LE being in the news lately, is this a move out of desperation? Perhaps, Dodge has taken up the ’challenge’ to ’charge’ its range. Bad pun, eh?

One of Dodge’s Most Iconic Paint Colors is Making a Comeback at the Chicago Auto Show
Don’t expect to see a new Dodge Challenger or even a new Dodge Charger at the 2019 Chicago Auto Show. But Dodge is bringing a Challenger and a Charger to the Windy City anyway; it’s just that the headline act isn’t either of the two performance cars. It’s the paint they’re wearing, which Dodge calls “Sublime.” The importance of the paint scheme shouldn’t come as a surprise to those who remember it. The Sublime finish is arguably one of the most iconic paint colors that the Challenger and Charger have worn in their respective lifetimes. 2015 was the last time Dodge offered it on the Challenger, and we haven’t seen the Charger sport it since 2007. Now it’s back, and, according to Dodge, it’s available as a factory color option across the entire range of Challenger and Charger models.
Mopar’s Hellephant Crate Engine Proves 1,000 Horsepower Is the New Benchmark
When Bugatti first announced that it would equip the original Veyron with a 1,000-horsepower engine straight from the factory, the world stood still. It was a watershed moment for the car industry, a point in time where even the most uninterested of the automotive laymen were forced to take notice of what was happening.
In the nearly 15 years since the Veyron first hit production, the bar has consistently been raised, and now internal combustion is taking on ever-greater levels of performance. FCA just proved as much, with Mopar now offering the first-ever 1,000-horsepower crate engine from an OEM. If you think about it, four-figures right out the box is insane, but that’s the world we live in now. But the question is - how’d we get here, and where are we going?
2018 Dodge Super Charger Concept
The Dodge Super Charger is a concept car that marks the 50th anniversary of the second-generation Charger, produced for the 1968 to 1970 model years. Unveiled at the 2018 SEMA Show, the Super Charger is a restomod that combines the design of the original Dodge Charger with modern parts from Mopar and the Challenger SRT Hellcat and Demon. More importantly, it showcases a new Hemi V-8 engine that cranks out an incredible 1,000 horsepower.
The big news here is that the 7.0-liter mill is a crate engine that you’ll be able to buy from FCA starting in 2019. The Super Charger was created specifically for the massive mill, which was dubbed Hellephant as a tribute to the original Mopar 426 Hemi engine, nicknamed Elephant due to its size and power. Obviously, Hellephant combined both the classic Elephant and the modern Hellcat monikers. The Hellephant is also the first 1,000-horsepower crate engine offered by an OEM carmaker.

2018 Dodge Charger Evolution
Wisconsin-based Speedkore is the same performance company that built an absurd 1,650-horsepower Dodge a few years back. It was seen in the Fast and Furious movie as well. This time around, they’ve built a more balanced, calmer version of the same Dodge Charger and moniker’d it as the ‘Evolution.’ The Evolution packs half the power of its predecessor, but has more utility. Speedkore claims that the Evolution represents “the most advanced 1970 Dodge Charger” anywhere on the globe, which may actually be true. Speedkore is known to play with carbon fiber and has used its skills on this beast as well. Despite the heavy engines and strong body, the company has built a muscle car that weighs just about 3,200 pounds - that’s anywhere between 228- and 638-pounds lighter than the original 1970 Dodge Charger!
Mopar Drops 1,000-Horsepower Crate Engine Bombshell at SEMA 2018
Following a number of teasers in the run-up to the annual SEMA show in Las Vegas, the speed gurus from Mopar, FCA’s in-house performance group, pulled the sheets on a brand-new, utterly custom Dodge Charger concept car, and with it, a new crate engine that puts last year’s “Hellcrate” package to shame.
The Latest Teaser from Dodge and Mopar Hints at the Return of the 426 HEMI, aka "The Elephant"
Mopar will release something big on October 30th, at least that’s what they say. We think they’re talking about the return of the famed 7.0-liter Hemi 426 — a model that was nicknamed ’The Elephant’ due to its size and power output.
The SEMA Show will be the stage where we’ll witness the unveiling of a new high-performance crate engine from Mopar. But we don’t really know all that much about the new unit, although the video posted by Mopar to build the hype is metaphorically referring to an engine of biblical proportions.
This 1,400-Horsepower Dodge Demon Can Run 8-Second Quarter Miles
The Demon is one scorcher of a muscle car, running the quarter mile in an incredible 9.65 seconds at 140 mph right out of the box. But, as is often the case, some folks always want more, and thus we have this tuned carbon fiber example that adds more power and slashes the quarter run into the 8’s.
2018 Dodge Durango SRT By Mopar
SUV fans have been clamoring for a beefed-up version of the Durango SRT ever since Dodge launched the Challenger Hellcat. But it has yet to happen as of 2018. And I really don’t think that it will change anytime soon. Jeep is already offering the Cherokee Trackhawk above the SRT model, and I’m pretty sure FCA doesn’t want a re-bodied version of this model with a Dodge badge. But, if you’re not a Cherokee fan and you want a Durango SRT with a few special features, you’re going to have to settle for the Mopar upgrade that was unveiled at the 2018 Chicago Auto Show.
Mopar-made bundles for the Dodge Durango is nothing new; we’ve seen them in the past. But these new packages are a bit more comprehensive and include updates for both the exterior and interior, as well as the drivetrain. There’s no extra power to talk about, and this might be disappointing for some, but the performance exhaust and suspension are just enough to set Durango SRT apart from its standard siblings. And the body stripes and carbon-fiber trim add a certain degree of sportiness you don’t get in many SUVs.

Booth Layout at the Detroit Auto Show Proves FCA is in Love with the Aging Challenger
A show as big as the NAIAS gives automakers a chance to create display booths that properly highlights the models they’re showcasing. Some go for the minimalist approach while others prefer to sprinkle generous amounts of bombast into their displays. Then there’s Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which went to Detroit to showcase its lineup of new models. At least that was the intent. What turned out happening, though, is that all of FCA’s models appeared to take a backseat to one model: the Dodge Challenger.
2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
Introduced in 2008, when Dodge basically revived the nameplate after a 25-year hiatus, the fourth-generation Challenger is the oldest muscle car available in U.S. showrooms and one of the longest running models as of 2017. Using underpinnings that date back to the W211-generation Mercedes-Benz E-Class (2002-2009), the Challenger managed to survive all these years against the more modern Mustang and Camaro, redesigned in 2015 and 2016, respectively. But, even though the Challenger is dated compared to its rivals, it can be had with some of the most powerful drivetrains in its segment, which is why it’s still popular with pony car fans. Having launched the 707-horsepower Hellcat in 2015, Dodge took things to a new level with the Challenger SRT Demon.
Described as a vehicle that will shake "the foundation of the entire performance car industry," the Challenger SRT Demon is indeed an unprecedented creation in the market. Not only incredibly powerful, it’s also fully equipped to race at the drag strip and comes with numerous industry-first features. While the Hellcat was often described as ludicrous, the Demon is downright insane and the stats suggest it’s quicker than just about any supercar out there! “With Demon, our goal was to build a car that would tattoo the Dodge logo into the subconscious of the general market, beyond even our loyal enthusiasts, said Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger cars at FCA North America. “To do so, we had to set records that have never been set before, do more than has ever been done before, go beyond even the legendary Hellcat.”

2018 Dodge Durango SRT
The Dodge Durango started life as a midsize, body-on-frame SUV in 1998 and became a full-size SUV for its second generation, which ran from 2004 to 2009. That second-gen model saw declining sales year after year, going from 137,148 sales for the 2004 model year down to just 3,521 for the 2009 model year. The Durango then fell out of production for 2010 (only 572 examples were sold that year), and by the time the 2011 model year came around, Dodge had redesigned the Durango into a full-sized unibody that was sportier than ever with a more upscale interior. Engine options for the current generation have been limited to a 3.6-liter Pentastar and Dodge’s 5.7-liter Hemi, but that is about to change now that Dodge is introducing the Dodge Durango SRT, which includes an even sportier exterior and interior package to go with a 6.4-liter Hemi (392 cubic-inches,) something that makes the Durango the fastest SUV in its class with an output of 475 ponies and 470 pound-feet of torque – that’s one mean machine.
If it seems to you like the Durango was ready to see its fourth-generation before it got yet another trim level, then I would have to say I agree. The current generation has been on the market since 2011 and was updated for the 2014 model year. But, FCA is trying to hold off on pushing out so many new-gen models and is instead focusing on coming up with new ways to bring interest to the models that are actually due for an update. The most obvious car this is happening to is the Dodge Challenger with its new SRT Demon, but the Durango is another one of those models that will soldier on for another year or two. But, at least you can now get it with that 6.4-liter Hemi wrapped in a very sexy package with room for six. With that said, let’s check this baby out and see what all it’s working with!

Play by Play: Watch the Dodge Demon’s Debut in all its Glory
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is a secret no more. Surely by this time you’ve read the stats and seen the incredible wheelie this drag-pack special does when launching hard off the line. If not, check out our full review here. We’re here to talk about Dodge’s big reveal – the big party that went down Tuesday night, just hours before the kickoff of the 2017 New York International Auto Show.
It started off at 8:00 p.m. with a tedious countdown. Mopar fans, along with Chevy and Ford folks, watched in anticipation for the Demon. THREE… TWO… ONE… the timer runs out and TV personality Chris Jacobs introduces Dodge’s huge display, along with the crowd of people live streaming the event from around the world. The pleasantries move along when NHRA Top Fuel Dragster Leah Pritchett joins Jacobs to banter about the Demon. Turns out, she’s not just some spokeswoman or pretty face, rather she actually helped test the Demon during its development. How cool is that?
Craig Jackson, namesake of the Barrett-Jackson car auctions, then speculates on how much the first production Challenger Demon might sell for. “It’s hard to say, but based on what the Hellcat did at $825,000, it’ll be a lot.” Jackson isn’t kidding. The Demon might indeed break auction records when it goes under the hammer sometime this fall.
Then things start rolling with a big, yellow Viper. Yeah, it’s not the Demon, but you won’t want to miss the big, smoky, tire-shredding video but out by Dodge and Pennzoil. You won’t even care it’s a marketing stunt.

Leaked! Could The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon Really Make Four-Figure Power?
Dodge is gearing up for a full reveal of the hotly anticipated Challenger SRT Demon this evening, but it looks like one of the biggest question marks just got spoiled a few hours before the big debut. According to a rash of leaks on social media, the Demon will produce upwards of 1,023 horsepower in its most potent drive configuration.
According to a variety of sources, including Instagram account @thedarkestride, the Demon will come with three separate power modes, each offering progressively greater levels of output. Mode 1 will be good for 757 horses, Mode 2 will be good for 815 horses, and the top Mode 3 will make that jaw-dropping 1,023-horse figure already mentioned.
The leaks go on to specify that Mode 3 requires a tank filled with fuel with at least a 100-octane rating, a new Power Control Module (PCM) tuned for the ultra-high-test juice (a $3,000 option), and the appropriate “Drag Mode” setting selected in the cockpit.
Whether or not the leaks are accurate remains to be seen, but either way, the Demon should manage to post numbers above and beyond those of the already insane 707-horsepower Challenger Hellcat.
We’re very excited to see what happens this evening when Dodge SRT spills the beans with the official debut. For now, read on for a little last-minute speculation.
Dodge Challenger Demon Breaks Cover Early!
Arguably the most anticipated new car from the 2017 Auto Show, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is also the most teased vehicle in recent years. Dodge has been launching weekly video teasers and press releases for three months now, and we’ve seen the cars in various "The Fate of the Furious" film content. The almighty Demon is set to debut tomorrow at the Javits Center, but as it usually happens with highly anticipated cars, the beefed-up coupe made it on the web earlier than planned.
Granted, it’s not like we haven’t seen the Demon in unauthorized peeks several times until now, but the photo published by Wheelsage appears to be an official shot of the red-painted car we’ve seen in all official teasers. The coupe has all the extra bits and pieces that Dodge bragged about until now, including the big wheel arches, the revised aero package, the massive hood scoop, and the "Demon" badges on the front fenders. It definitely looks the part with all these add-ons, but at the same time, it’s still easy on the eyes and somewhat subdued. I like that a lot!
Of course, most of the things that make the Demon special hide under the skin and Dodge has yet to say anything about output. Thankfully, we won’t need to wait too much longer for the official data. FCA will roll out all the important information on April 11, alongside a full batch of photos, so make sure you stick around for updates and our comprehensive review. The Challenger SRT Demon will be the quickest and most powerful factory-made muscle car, so there’s plenty of stuff to get excited about!
