Ricky Bobby Returns to Our Lives in New Dodge Commercial
Ricky Bobby is back, folks. Sort of. The star of Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby now has his own Dodge commercial. Ok, so it’s not really Will Ferrell reprising his role as the GOAT of all NASCAR drivers, but the commercial does star Bobby during his childhood in 1981 where, apparently, the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat also exists.
His childhood friend, Cal Naughton Jr., is also in the commercial, even though it’s also the childhood version of the character played by John C. Reilly. The “Shake” to Bobby’s “Bake” can be seen driving a Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock. Bobby’s father, Reese Bobby (played by Gary Cole), is also in the commercial — he’s the only one reprising role — driving a Dodge Durango Hellcat.
Dodge, Jeep and Ram Are Rolling Out Muscle-Flexing Commercials for Super Bowl LIII
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is going to be well-represented at Super Bowl LIII with three commercials from its three major brands: Dodge, Jeep, and RAM. The commercials, which range from 45 seconds to 90 seconds, are all promoting tasty machinery, including two all-new models from Jeep and RAM, specifically the Gladiator pickup and the RAM Heavy Duty pickup, respectively. The Dodge commercial, on the other hand, is promoting its SRT lineup, headlined by the Challenger SRT. The Dodge Charger SRT and the Dodge Durango SRT also feature prominently in the commercial in the 45-second spot.
Dodge Preps For Xmas With Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Sleigh
With Christmas around the corner, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye is the latest car to get a sleigh makeover. Introduced as part of Dodge’s “Big Finish” campaign, the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Sleigh stars in a new commercial called “Upgrade” alongside retired WWE wrestler Bill Goldberg, who happens to play a pretty jacked-up Santa Claus. With muscles coming out of his ears, Santa decides to keep with the profile this holiday season by commissioning his elves to make improvements to his current sleigh. The result, as you can see, is a sleigh that’s going to make a lot of pony car enthusiasts wish they had the means to do the same thing.
Remember How The 1994 Dodge Ram "Broke The Rules?"
Pickups are an ever-present, widely accepted member of the American landscape. But it didn’t use to be that way. Even in the 1980s, pickups were considered tools, not family transportation. So what happened? The 1994 Dodge Ram. No, that’s no marketing baloney or brand loyalty soaking through my journalistic integrity. Dodge’s second-generation of Ram pickups is largely credited as the catalyst that transformed the American pickup from a utilitarian workhorse to a friendly companion that wasn’t out-of-place in the mall parking lot. Both Ford and General Motors soon followed Dodge’s lead in making pickups focused more on people than cargo and low costs. The most current culmination of this transformation is Ford’s new Platinum trim for the 2018 Super Duty. Dolled up with all the options, this truck flirts with a $100,000 price tag.
Most than two decades ago, Dodge designers decided to add more creature comforts and convenience features to its pickup. The interesting backstory, as told in this video, is that a designer at Chrysler’s brand new headquarters and technology center went to an area of the complex still under construction to take photos of the construction works’ pickups. The design team studied the photos (Polaroids, no less) to see how loose items were stored inside the cabs. The research resulted in innovative storage solutions considered commonplace in modern trucks. Ram was also the first to offer a four-door extended cab, offering easier entry to the rear bench. Before that, Ford and GM were only using one door on extended cabs.
Ram also introduced the first V-10 engine in a pickup with its new 1994 Ram heavy duty. The venerable Cummins inline-six turbodiesel carried over from the first-generation Ram HD. There was also a trio of engines for the Ram 1500, including the 3.9-liter V-6, the 5.2-liter V-8, and the 5.9-liter V-8. Both the V-8s had a long history with Chrysler, with older version being better known by their cubic-inch displacement of 318 and 360, respectively. Power ranged from 175 horsepower and 230 pound-feet of torque in the V-6 up to 230 horses and 330 pound-feet in the 5.9-liter. The big 8.0-liter V-10 offered an impressive 300 horses and a diesel-like 450 pound-feet of torque. In fact, the gasoline V-10 put down 30 pound-feet more torque than the 5.9-liter Cummins turbodiesel.
Pickups have come a long way since the early 1990s, and it’s easy to pinpoint where their transition started. The Ram’s “big-rig” styling separated it from everything on the road and continues to directly influence Ram’s design language nearly 25 years later. There’s certainly a lot to be said for that.

Pennzoil’s "Exorcising the Demon" Video Puts the Dodge Challenger Demon In Its Element: Video
There are some things the Dodge Challenger Demon is good at. Then there are things that the Dodge Challenger Demon is great at. Considering that it has 840 horsepower at its disposal, you’d think that it’d be the perfect car to do burnouts and go drifting in. Oil company Pennzoil seems to think so, too, and was actually front and center in unleashing the Demon’s drifting abilities in a video called “Exorcising the Demon.”
Clever titles aside, the video is as good as it gets in terms of showcasing the Challenger Demon’s capabilities. Sure, we know it to be a juggernaut of acceleration and a monster on the drag strip. But what happens when you put it in an urban setting like a night in Pittsburgh, ask rallycross star Rhys Millen to drive it, and let it run loose? You get what can best be described as a two-and-a-half-minute highlight reel of the Challenger Demon doing anything from burnouts to donuts and everything else in between. Throw in some special effects to highlight the muscle car’s earthquake-inducing, torque-tactic acceleration and you have as good a promotional video for the Challenger Demon as anything Dodge has released before it.
The treatment of the video is exceptional in it of itself. The cinematography captures the grittiness of the Steel City, serving as the perfect backdrop for a car like the Challenger Demon to run roughshod over. And like any video these days that’s worth its salt, the ending of “Exorcising the Demon” essentially serves as a teaser for what’s to come next. I’m not going to spoil the surprise at the end because it’s definitely worth waiting for.
Dodge Releases Two Hellacious Commercials For The Challenger Hellcat: Video
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles hasn’t had the most flattering few months. From reports that it could be involved in the next scandal to hit the auto industry to recalls of its vehicles and potential high-profile lawsuits stemming from these recalls, it’s safe to say that FCA has had better days. Fortunately, there are some silver linings within the company and none have shined brighter - and roared louder - than the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. Ever since the Challenger Hellcat went on sale in 2014, it has continuously been one of the more popular models to come out of Dodge. That popularity remains to this day as the high-powered muscle car continues to sell well and that’s a big reason why FCA is going into overdrive in promoting the Challenger Hellcat with a pair of new commercials that speaks to the menacing spirit of the muscle car.
The first ad is called Dodge Warning is the more straight-forward of the two ads. It’s got a pretty simple premise that’s centered on the Charger Hellcat’s blinking hazard lights and a voice-over hastily narrating the potential health risks of driving a Challenger Hellcat. The soliloquy has its humorous moments, but the ad is meant for viewers to keep their focus on the blinking lights until Metallica’s “Fuel” kicks in, followed by a prop explosion that also reveals the rear sides of the Charger and Durango flanking the Challenger Hellcat.
The second of the two ads is called Unleashed and this one has Hollywood production value written all over it. It actually looks more like a blockbuster trailer right down to the cheap imitation of Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs character in the Fast & Furious franchise. But the real star of the ad is the robotic metal cat, Dodge’s not-so-subtle interpretation of the Challenger Hellcat. The ad starts with the cat being transported from the “Dodge Research Lab” to downtown Detroit where it’s unleashed to race to a painted finish line. Not surprisingly, the robot cat’s roar resembles the same rip-roaring noise of the Challenger Hellcat’s Hemi engine and as the cat races to the finish line, it slowly transforms into the muscle car.
Both ads are touting Dodge’s new “Domestic. Not Domesticated” tag line and if both ads play through that message in their own unique way.
How do you feel about 700-horsepower muscle cars? What about Phil Collins? If these are both things you appreciate, then you’ll probably find a lot to like in Dodge’s latest marketing campaign, entitled ‘Predators.’ The sinister new spot features a 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat, 2015 Dodge Challenger Hellcat and a 2015 Dodge Viper GTS executing a few smoky donuts and skidding around the deserted nighttime streets of Miami. Phil Collins’ 1981 hit ‘In the Air Tonight’ provides the soundtrack — which science has proven to have the greatest drum-fill in the history of music.
The new commercials, both 30- and 90-second versions, highlight Dodge SRT’s halo products and how they shape Dodge’s image as a whole. “We don’t build Hellcats or Vipers for high volume, we build them as brand positioning statements,” says Dodge, SRT and FCA boss Tim Kuniskis. “These vehicles may be a small percentage of our overall sales but they send a very strong message about the brand personality and attitude.”

Anchorman 2’s Ron Burgundy is rocking a new Durango R/T in the latest set of hilarious ads from Dodge.
There’s a whole series of ads featuring Burgundy tell us what makes the Durango such a special ride. In addition to boasting a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine that delivers a total of 360 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque, Burgundy also touts the Durango’s standard ‘thermoplastic’ glovebox door.
Ron calculates the standard dashboard cubby’s size and versatility. The glovebox boasts of a 0.1 cubic feet of storage, a 12-volt light bulb, and can comfortably fits two turkey sandwiches.
Only Ron Burgundy can deliver the 1980s gameshow feel of Anchorman 2, in theaters this winter.

There was a time when math was done with with just a pencil and paper and novels were created on a typewriter. Those things seem completely outdated now, when cars like the Autonomous Audi TTS are climbing Pikes Peak without a man behind the wheel. Dodge has touched on this exact climb into technology with their new 2011 Dodge Charger commercial.
The setting is a bit into the future and illustrates how technology is taking over everything we do in our daily lives. From brushing our teeth to opening our doors, technology will soon lead us by the hand and live our lives for us. The excellent play on this idea is that it will never take over the thrill of driving our cars or, in this case, our Dodge Chargers.

Video: Dodge drums up interest in the World Cup match between the US and England with "Freedom" TV spot
The World Cup match between powerhouse England and it’s former colony, the USA, was just this past weekend and Dodge made good use of its advertising budget to ensure that their presence was felt on one of America’s biggest soccer games in history. Sure, the good ol’ boys of the red, white, and blue, were decidedly huge underdogs against the English chaps, but they were not going to lay down easy and ended up tying it up with those blokes.
This ad by Dodge, which they called "Freedom" most likely fueled even more fire, patriotism, and passion from die-hard American soccer fans as they rooted for their country’s team while the showdown with England took place. While this was just another group match for England, this match meant the world to the USA.
Remember that scene from Anchorman where Ron Burgundy and his news team got involved in a "News Team Royal Rumble" with its local news competition that included, among others Tim Robbins, Luke Wilson, and a Mexican Ben Stiller?
This is what this Dodge Grand Caravan commercial looks like, only that they’ve got people wearing cat, mice, and dog masks. Huh? Where did that come from? Well, Dodge is promoting their new Grand Caravan as a vehicle that "has everything, you can do anything". Apparently, that "anything" also involves showing up for a warehouse brawl while wearing Garfield on your face.
Come to think of it, they do deserve props for this out-of-the-box ’cats versus mice versus dogs’ idea. It’s different and unique, but we don’t see how this fits into Dodge’s attempt at targeting a younger audience, unless they’re also going for the young-and-weird market.
While the perception in society points to men becoming “tied-down” after they get hitched, we should all be reminded that perception isn’t always reality. It seems a little short-sighted and naive to think that men have become a little too predictable once we become domesticated.
That being said, as far as the new Dodge Super Bowl commercial is concerned, they seem to think that all men, no matter the course of action they take, will, at some point in time, end up on sort of leash in their lives.
But as the ad puts it in the end, men will abide by the rules for as long as they have something - even just one thing - to go crazy about.
And for Dodge, that ‘one thing to go crazy about’ is the new Charger.
On some levels, we cringe at thought of seeing men – husbands, specifically – get stereotyped in the way Dodge did it. But on the other hand, we can all agree that, while some men do indeed fall on that label, the thought of speeding off on a new Dodge Charger is something a lot of us do go crazy about.

Starting May 12, moviegoers across the country will be among the first to see this vehicle on the silver screen when Dodge debuts its new ad in cinemas.
