2016 Dodge Viper ACR by Geiger Cars
The Dodge Viper is headed to an ignominious ending but in fairness to Dodge, the American automaker is making sure that the Viper is going out with a bang. A slew of special edition models based on the Viper ACR have sold out in record time, proving that the Viper collector market is alive and healthy. Sadly, those special editions were of limited quantity so not everyone got the chance to own one. Fret not though because there’s another way to get a non-standard Viper ACR, one that involves taking the aftermarket route. It just so happens that Geiger Cars has just unveiled its new program for the Viper ACR that comes with a performance upgrade that spikes the 8.4-liter V-10’s engine to 765 horsepower and 679 pound-feet of torque.
The new numbers represent an increase of 120 ponies and 79 pound-feet of torque, enough to give the range-topping Viper some serious road and track capabilities. Imagine what a Geiger-tuned Viper ACR is capable of when the standard model has already set some serious lap times in a number of race tracks. I can only think of the possibilities but for owners of the Viper ACR, they can actually find out for themselves if they avail of Geiger Cars’ tuning program.
Speaking of the program, the engine upgrade isn’t the only thing included in the whole kit. The tuner is also offering what it calls an “Extreme Aero Package,” a set of carbon fiber body kits that were added to help keep Viper ACR owners from losing control of their sports cars. The whole kit can be a bit pricey, especially when you take into account possible shipping costs. But if the need matches up with the desires, then it shouldn’t be a problem adding more juice to the already potent Dodge Viper ACR.

2016 Dodge Viper Venom 800 by Hennessey
Hennessey is one of those tuners that don’t need any introduction. But I’m going to give one anyway, especially since the company is responsible for the mind-blowing Venom GT, considered as arguable the fastest production car in the world. The American tuner doesn’t have anything remotely similar to the Venom GT here, but it does have a new tuning program for the Dodge Viper that borrows the Venom name. It’s officially called the Venom 800 and it packs 808 horsepower and 790 pound-feet of torque.
Those numbers may look eye-popping, but anybody who knows anything about Hennessey is aware that these are the kind of numbers the tuner is capable of producing. Heck, that Venom 800 program, as impressive as it looks, isn’t even the most powerful engine upgrade Hennessey has on offer for the Viper. It also has a bigger modification that squeezes out in excess of 1,000 horsepower out of the Viper’s 8.4-liter V-10 engine.
This is the kind of work that Hennessey is capable of. It’s not going to do wonders in the way of cosmetic and aerodynamic upgrades, but when it comes to working on those V-8 engines, there aren’t that many American tuners that can come close to achieving what the Texas-based outfit is routinely capable of doing.

2016 Dodge Viper GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR
The third-generation Dodge Viper was unveiled in 2012, three years after Chrysler decided to discontinue the nameplate due to serious financial problems. The new sports car arrived with a slightly more aggressive exterior design, a revised cockpit, and a more powerful 8.4-liter V-10 engine connected to an updated transmission. Unlike its predecessor, the third-gen Viper was sold as a two-door coupe only. After five years during which it spawned many special-edition models, set lap records, and won races, the Viper will be phased out completely in 2017 due to slow sales and Chrysler’s shift to producing more profitable vehicles.
2017 also marks the Viper’s 25th year on the market, and Dodge is celebrating with no fewer than five special-edition models. One of them is the GTS-R Commemorative Edition ACR, which also celebrates an important moment from the Viper’s past. Specifically, this model pays tribute to the 1998 GTS-R GTS Championship Edition, which was built to celebrate the Viper’s victory in the 1997 FIA GT2 championship.

Dodge Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC
It’s a well-known fact that the Dodge Viper will be discontinued after the 2017 model year. That choice came as a response to slow sales and Chrysler’s lack of motivation to engineer side-curtain airbags that could fit inside the cabin. So, it should come as no surprise that Dodge is taking advantage of the Viper’s 25th anniversary and subsequent discontinuance by creating a handful of limited-production models that will surely grab extra money from fans.

Out of this handful of limited-production vipers, the one I’m here to talk about today is the Dodge Viper Snakeskin Edition GTC, which is essentially a remake of the 2010 Snakeskin Viper ACR that was offered back in 2010. The 2010 model, by the way, was built in just 31 units. To stay true to the whole “25th anniversary” thing, Dodge is sticking to building just 25 of the 2017 Snakeskin Edition GTC. With that said, let’s take a closer look at this model and what it brings to the table.

2016 Dodge Viper 1:28 Edition ACR
The third-generation Dodge Viper came to be in 2012, when Chrysler revived the V-10-sports car after a three-year hiatus. Updated to a more aggressive exterior design and a friendlier interior, the sports car also gained a more powerful 8.4-liter V-10 engine and a revised transmission. Unlike its predecessor, which also spawned a roadster, the third-gen Viper was sold as a two-door coupe only. After some five years on the market in this configuration, the Viper will be phased out in 2017 due to slow sales and FCA’s (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) new focus on SUVs, crossovers, and other high-selling vehicles.
In a rather ironic match, the Viper’s last year on the market is also the one that marks its 25th anniversary. To celebrate the event, Dodge is launching five limited-edition models, one of which is the 1:28 Edition ACR. To be built in only 28 units for the 2017 model year, this model pays tribute to the lap record of 1:28.65 minutes that Randy Pobst set in a Dodge Viper ACR at Laguna Seca Raceway in October 2015. As the name suggests, the limited-edition sports car is based on the range-topping, track-prepped ACR model.
The exclusive Viper is also a spiritual success to the 2010 Viper ACR 1:33 Edition, which celebrated Dodge’s previous record of 1:33.915 at the same track. This was achieved in November 2009 and followed by a 33-unit limited run Viper.

2016 Dodge Viper VoooDoo II Edition ACR
It’s only been about six months since we started hearing rumors that FCA was killing off the Viper, but as you probably already know, the rumors are true. In January, FCA boss Sergio Marchionne said there was a “possibility” of its return someday, but there was no timetable. At the time, we assumed it was poor sales that was leading to the Viper’s signed and filed death warrant, but it turned out to be FCA’s inability (or lack of interest) in modifying the Viper to support side curtain airbags. Now, as we approach the final model year for the Viper, the Dodge brand is celebrating the car’s 25th anniversary by releasing five money-grabbing, limited-edition models, such as the one you see here – the VoooDoo II Edition ACR.

This special-edition model takes after the first VooDoo edition that was released back in 2010, and features a number of aesthetic enhancements, but absolutely nothing in the form of drivetrain or chassis upgrades. There were 31 units of the original VooDoo edition built, so FCA has limited production of the VoooDoo II to just 31 units as well. No pricing information is available at this time, but as a limited-production model, you can bet Dodge is going to grab every penny it can from enthusiasts that hate to see the car go. How do you improve a car that has already set lap records at 13 road tracks in the US, including Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta, and Willow Springs? The short answer is you don’t. GeigerCars could have taken its usual course of modifying the Dodge Viper ACR to turn it into the black mamba of the race track. Or, it could just try to replicate the viciousness of the Viper ACR by developing its own aerodynamic package that can replicate the sports car’s record-breaking capabilities.
The German tuner opted for the latter and so here we are. This is GeigerCars’ take on the Viper ACR and it comes with what the company calls an “Extreme Aero Package” to help improve the car’s performance capabilities and turn it into a razor-sharp street legal track car across the Atlantic.
The aerodynamic modifications on this Viper are extensive and were developed with the singular purpose of improving its handling on the track. There was very little work done on the engine - surprising, right? - but according to Geiger, any improvement on the power of the Viper’s 8.4-liter V-10 engine would’ve made the car a handful to drive in any condition.
In the end, GeigerCars reconfigured the Viper the way it intended it to. It still won’t be the fastest car on the autobahn, but with all the modifications tied into improving the car’s overall handling, I can’t imagine how awesome this car can go on a race track, especially in those tight corners.

The Dodge Viper will be never be confused for being one of those cars that’s sensitive to the whims of the environment. Eco-friendliness isn’t in the Viper’s vocabulary and that’s fine for those loyal to the homegrown sports car. These type of people kneel at the altar of that 8.4-liter V-10 engine, one that produces a whopping 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque. German tuner Geiger Cars counts itself among this lot and it has even taken its love for the Viper to a whole new level courtesy of a new tuning program dedicated to the American sports car.
Comprised mainly of aero upgrades and performance modifications, Geiger Cars is no stranger to these type of builds. Over the years, it has built programs for the Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang, and Chevrolet Camaro. In other words, tuning kits for American sports cars is Geiger’s jam.
Sure, the Viper might need things of that sort considering that it already packs a wallop just by having that V-10 sitting under its hood. But, like most tuning shops, Geiger Cars isn’t concerned with what’s already there as much as what’s not there…yet.
Owners of the Viper, especially those in Germany, should at least give this new program a look. It’s one thing to have 640 horsepower rampaging along the Autobahns. It’s another thing entirely to do the same with more than 700 ponies at your disposal.

When Dodge showcased the Viper ACR Concept at the 2014 SEMA Show, I began to wonder whether Chrysler finally realized that the ACR needs to return at the top of Viper lineup. Come 2015, and its seems the ACR Concept was just a teaser of things to come, as Dodge has just unveiled a new Viper ACR. The nameplate returns for the second time, after a five-year hiatus, with an aerodynamic package that’s arguably the most extreme in the Viper’s 22-year history.
The ACR, short for American Club Racing, was initially introduced in 1999, three years into the second generation of the V-10-powered sports car. Available as a coupe only, the ACR received an array of aerodynamic and mechanical updates for improved performance at the track. Discontinued for the third-gen Viper, the track-ready machine returned in 2008 with even more updates. In 2011, it lapped the Nurburgring track in 7 minutes and 12.13 seconds, now the sixth-fastest lap for a production car on the "Green Hell."
Whether Dodge is out to set a new benchmark at the ’Ring is yet unknown, but Dodge’s press release does speak about "unprecedented lap times." And judging by the new aero bits added to the ACR, it would be more than capable to improve the previous benchmark on the Nordschleife. Updated 11/04/2015: Dodge announced that its new 2016 Viper ACR established more track records than any production car in the world. The sports car certified lap records at 13 road courses, including world-famous Laguna Seca, Road Atlanta and Virginia International Raceway. At Laguna the ACR became faster than cars like Porsche 918 Spyder - which lapped the track in 1:29.89. A series of nine new video will offer you the chance to watch how some of this records were established.

What a rough year 2014 was for the Viper, one during which we often asked ourselves whether Chrysler would axe the nameplate for the third time. Production was halted for several months due to slow sales and hundreds of units sitting on dealer lots, with only the massive discount introduced in September bringing more customers to Dodge dealerships. We say Dodge dealerships because 2014 was also the year in which the Viper returned under its initial badge after Chrysler decided to relegate the SRT brand back to its former performance-division status. With deliveries back on track, Dodge has restarted Viper production and can now focus on launching updated models for 2015. First on the list is the Time Attack model, which returns as the TA 2.0.
Not much has changed with the 2015 model year update. The TA carries the same aerodynamic body, the same interior and the same suspension updates. However, there are a few aero bits, slightly revised graphics, five extra ponies rumbling under the hood and, more importantly, pricing has dropped by more than $20,000. Read on for the full details.

The Viper ACR (American Club Racing) model was introduced in 1999, three years into the second generation of the sports car. Available only as a coupe, the ACR received a host of aerodynamic and mechanical enhancements developed for the track. A revised front bumper, a vented hood and a fixed rear wing were the main body highlights, while a stiffer, adjustable suspension improved its handling. Likewise, the 8.0-liter V-10 of the second-gen Viper had its output increased by 10 ponies to 460 horsepower for the ACR. Curb weight was reduced by more than 50 pounds. The third-gen Viper didn’t offer an ACR version, but the track-ready sports car returned in 2008 with even more updates. But unlike its predecessor, the new ACR didn’t have any engine modifications as the 8.4-liter V-10 kept its stock 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. In 2011, a 2010 Viper ACR lapped the Nurburgring track in 7 minutes, 12.13 seconds. The sports car remains the sixth fastest production car on the "Green Hell" as of 2014. The 2010 model year was the last year for the ACR, but as we approach 2015, Dodge is showcasing an ACR Concept based on the fifth-generation model at the SEMA Show.

Dodge has recently announced the new GT and TA 2.0 Special Edition trim levels, a modest five-horsepower increase, a one-mpg jump on the EPA’s highway rating, and a significant price drop across the board for the V-10-powerwed 2015 Viper. However, something was still missing: a roadster. It seems like this may not be an issue much longer, as rumors of the drop-top Dodge are swirling with increasing frequency.
When the fifth-generation Viper came out for 2013, it defied Viper tradition by not offering a roadster version. Heck, the first-generation Viper was only offered as an open-top roadster. Dodge has said in the past the fifth-gen Viper was designed with a roadster version in mind, having been made with extra structural supports integrated into the design from the start, but we have yet to see it.
It’s likely slow initial sales that made Dodge and (SRT) hold off on investing the extra cash on roadster production, allowing sales of the current cars to increase. Unfortunately, that never happened. Unlike hotcakes, the Viper continued to sell more like stale bread at a gas station. Perhaps Dodge will just bite the bullet and build the roadster version in hopes that increased sales will happen. Combine the drop-top with the $15,000 drop in price – along with the other improvements – and the Viper just might make a rebound. The Dodge Viper saga began in 1991, when Chrysler introduced the semi-supercar commonly known as the modern-day Cobra. The production model was based on a concept car showcased in 1989 and carried an 8.0-liter, V-10 engine under its long hood. Sold as a roadster at first, the Viper gained a coupe version in 1996, when the second-gen car was unveiled. Numerous upgrades were implemented until 2010, including a displacement increase to 8.3 liters and an output update to more than 500 horsepower, when the Viper was discontinued after four generations only to return as the SRT Viper in 2013. Heading into 2015, the SRT and Dodge brands have again become one, allowing the Dodge Viper SRT to return.
When the Viper returned under the SRT brand, it arrived with a redesigned body and a slightly larger engine. Enlarged to displace 8.4 liters, the V-10 powerplant delivered 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, a figure that remained unchanged until 2014. Going into 2015, the iconic Viper remains pretty much the same, save for the name change, a five-pony power bump, and various, but minor interior and exterior upgrades.
Updated 07/28/2014: New details on the 2015 Dodge Viper report that the sports car will deliver an additional five horsepower over the 2014 SRT version. The only question is if the 645 horsepower will help boost the very poor sales of the sports car. (Road And Track)

The Dodge Viper - or is it SRT Viper - hasn’t exploded the way Dodge had hoped for. The hype and attention being thrown in the direction of the Charger and Challenger Hellcat models hasn’t helped the Viper win any brownie points either. It’s a shame because the Viper’s a really intense sports car. Fortunately, Dodge has thrown the Viper a bone of sorts by introducing a special Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition that should give the sports car the shine it deserves.
The Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition is limited to just 40 units. It’s probably going to sell out quickly given its exclusive status. But merely being ‘exclusive’ isn’t what makes this model special.
The Ceramic Blue paint finish gives the Viper GTS a special kind of shine. Add the black stripes and the set of five-spoked “Rattler” wheels finished in Black Vapor Chrome and this Viper GTS suddenly looks like a crowd-pleasing, road-blazing terror on four wheels.
Hyperbole aside, the Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition fits a need for the Viper, which hasn’t met the kind of sales volume Dodge intended it to have.
Dodge needs to give the Viper a fresh look, especially after the attention the Hellcat twins have received the past month. Maybe the Viper GTS Ceramic Blue Edition is the answer. But at the very least, it’s a step in the right direction for a sports car that hasn’t received the credit it deserves.

With a whopping 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque at its disposal, and fearsome, American-made looks, the 2014 SRT Viper is one mean and powerful machine. To most, the "Snake" is perfect. To others, albeit not that many, the Viper could still use some improvements. It’s not often we see the near-supercar receive an aftermarket makeover, but companies such as Inspired Autosport are always up for the challenge.
Known for adding a touch of uniqueness to an array of vehicles, ranging from Mercedes-Benz SUVs to Lamborghini supercars, IA added the 2014 SRT Viper to its portfolio. The request came from a customers who did not want to take delivery of the 640-horsepower beast without a few extras inside and out, and thus "Project #Merica" was born.

At its core, the SRT Viper GT3-R is a born and bred race car that’s capable of inflicting some serious damage on the track. The car proved as much during the Detroit leg of the Pirelli World Challenge Series in May 2014 when it scored its first-ever series victory. On July 19th and 20th, 2014, the World Challenge Series travels to Toronto and the Viper GT3-R is expected to be front and center once again.
SRT Motorsports is bringing one to the race where it will be driven by Kuno Wittmer, a man who is no stranger to driving the SRT GTS-R, his full-time ride at the IMSA Tudor United SportsCar Championship. But on July 19th and 20th, Wittmer will be piloting a special SRT GT3-R prepared by Riley Technologies.
He’s also no stranger to driving Vipers in the series, having competed there from 2008 to 2010 and boasting two victories while piloting the Viper. For one weekend, Wittmer returns to the Pirelli World Challenge Series with an even more incredible Viper by his side, ready to take the GTA class by storm.
The car itself looks like a real world beater. That’s a credit to the work put in by Riley Technologies to turn it into a full-fledged, competition-ready race car. With a massive V-10 engine under its hood that produces 680 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque, this SRT GT3-R is ready to take turn some heads in Toronto.

The Dodge Viper debuted in 1991 and arrived in showrooms for the 1992 model year. It was Chrysler’s first venture into the semi-supercar world and it featured an 8.0-liter, V-10 powerplant developed with input from Lamborghini and based on Dodge’s V-10 truck engine. The first-generation model was sold through 1995 and was only offered as a roadster. It wasn’t until 1996 when Dodge created the coupe body, known as the GTS. This second-gen Viper also saw a power increase from 400 horsepower to 450 ponies. The Viper was completely redesigned for 2003. The convertible was joined by a coupe model four years later and output reached into 500-horsepower territory for the first time. Engine displacement was also increased to 8.3 liters. Dodge discontinued the sports car for the 2007 model year, but it brought it back a year later. The fourth-generation Viper only lasted until 2010, and it took Chrysler another two years to introduce a fifth-gen version.
Unlike previous models, the new Viper debuted as a coupe only and had its V-10 engine rebuilt into a 8.4-liter. The current output resides at 640 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful production Chrysler.
Throughout its short-lived career, the Dodge Viper was also a successful race car, winning numerous events and series championships. To honor its racing heritage, Street and Racing Technology (SRT) launched a brand new iteration of the GTS-R race car for the 2014 IMSA Tudor United SportsCar Championship.

If you’ve been a fan of the Grand Theft Auto video game franchise, you might recognize this sports car. Why yes, it’s the Bravado Banshee, the getaway car that made its debut in the opening moments of Grand Theft Auto III. The Banshee was always treated simply as a video game car that ultimately became one of the mainstays of GTA.
All that’s about to change now that a real world version of the Banshee has been built, thanks to Rockstar Games’ collaboration with West Coast Customs. It’s only a one-off machine, yet it makes good use of state-of-the-art fabrication technologies to turn it into a true sports car befitting its stature as a bad-ass in the GTA franchise.
One look at the Banshee and you can surmise that it was based on a past version of the Dodge Viper — a 2006 model, to be precise. WCC used molds for the exterior, and cut and machined piece-by-piece to recreate the high-performance look of the video game sports car. And as an added treat, the Banshee’s iconic metallic-blue exterior complete with ice white racing stripe, ensuring that the sports car’s video game looks translated perfectly into the real-world car.
Additionally, the interior is also a sight to behold with the seats upholstered and embroidered with the "Banshee" name and insignia. Likewise, carbon inlays were used on the dashboard, door panels and center console while a multi-speaker premium sound system was installed.
But the best part about this Banshee isn’t so much it’s appeal; it’s the fact that GameStop raffled it off as part of its Epic Rewards Giveaway back in 2013.

It looks like SRT is doing all it can to get more people to stand up and take notice of the new Viper, and somehow boost the very poor sales of the new sports coupe. At the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, SRT unveiled a sleekl Anodized Carbon Special Edition package offered exclusively for the Viper GTS model.
As its name suggests, the new limited edition is all about using a new, metallic matte exterior color — a first for the SRT Viper. The new Anodized Carbon is applied by hand and gives the Viper a unique look. Along with the new hue, SRT is adding in gloss-black GTS badges, satin-black exhaust bezels and an Anodized Carbon fuel filler door. Rounding out the exterior mods are carbon-fiber brake ducts and rear applique.
The interior also receives a host of upgrades, including some high-end Nappa leather, Alcantara and orange accents to make you feel special while whipping this rig around.
This special edition retains the stock 8.4-liter, V-10 powerplant with 640 horses and 600 pound-feet of twist punishing the concrete through the rear wheels. This is enough to get the Viper to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.
The SRT Viper Anodized Carbon Special Edition will be limited to only 50 units and will be put into production in January 2014.

While the new SRT Viper is struggling to find suitable buyers, the previous-generation Dodge Viper still is still getting plenty of attention. For example, Racing Solutions is now offering an impressive list of upgrades for the fourth-gen Viper.
The tuner offers two different set of upgrades. For between $34,950 and $74,950, depending on options, customers can opt for the RSI Twin Turbo Street Systems that increases the engine’s power to 750 rear-wheel horsepower on the stock engine, 1,000-plus horsepower at the rear wheels on regular gas, and 1,100-plus rear-wheel horsepower on racing fuel. All three levels are downright awesome when considering the base fourth-gen Viper’s 8.4-liter engine hit 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque.
The RSI Twin Turbo Street Systems includes a pair of 62 mm Presision turbos with blow-off valves, wastegates and piping, a Racing Solutions Fuel System with triple fuel pumps, billet fuel rails, RSI injectors and braided fuel lines, an engine management system update, and custom wiring.
Customers can opt for an RSI blueprinted and balanced shortblock with a custom crankshaft, connecting rods, camshaft. pistons, wrist pins and spiral locks, bearings, and head studs. Additional tuning includes optional RSI cylinder heads, T&D roller rockers, valve springs, ported intake and oversized valves.
Buyers can also update the driveline with a billet-carbon, triple-disc clutch; a spec-built transmission; a custom-spec differential; and racing-spec rear axles.
Along with the engine upgrade, this package also includes RSI badges, painted engine bay and custom floor mats.

The new Viper suffered a serious black eye when it ranked behind the outgoing Corvette ZR1 in a few big comparison tests, so the SRT crew has been busy refining the model with a new Bilstein DampTronic adjustable suspension, a ‘Rain’ mode on the stability and traction control, and matte-black paint on the new-for-2014 Anodized Carbon Edition.
SRT is fresh off a class victory at Road America with the racing GTS-R version of the latest Viper, but is this V-10-powered brute still in touch with sports car buyers in the age of the Nissan GT-R?
The most impressive is the yet-to-be-seen 2014 Viper Anodized Carbon Edition, which packs all the interior and exterior carbon options from the 2013 Time Attack model, but brings Chrysler’s first-ever matte-black paint job.
The T/A model shares its handling refinements with the base and GTS Vipers for 2014 via a track pack that also cuts the big supercar’s curb weight by 57 pounds.

While the all-new SRT Viper hogs all the limelight, most have forgotten that there was a predecessor that served as a halo car to generate some excitement, in an otherwise boring lineup of cars from Dodge. We haven’t forgotten and neither did Superior Auto Design.
The last Viper to wear the Dodge badge with pride, the 2010 Dodge Viper SRT10, was considered the last hurrah of the ultimate muscle car in its era, before SRT made plans to resurrect it and give it a facelift, making the original Viper design more modern.
The main goal of Superior Auto Design for this build was to make the Dodge Viper SRT10 cool and wicked, even by today’s standard. Judging by the pictures we have for you, they have hit bull’s eye on that aspect.
This custom build includes a revamped interior that includes new leather with diamond tufts and contrast stitching, painted center stack, new shift gear and e-brake boot. The exterior features a matte-black 3M wrap with gloss and carbon-fiber black accents. To increase the cool factor, SAD added red accents to certain elements of the exterior. To us, this custom Dodge Viper is what Bruce Wayne would’ve been driving if he had a fetish for American muscle cars.
The wicked-looking hood comes from the insanely evil Dodge Viper ACR and, to complement the whole build, SAD has fitted 20-inch black forged wheels with a red stripe on the outer lip, thereby wrapping up the whole custom build.
Under the hood, SAD left the 8.4-liter V-10 engine to its own devices. You can’t fault the tuner, as this engine is good for 600 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque, and sprinted the Viper to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Oh yeah, it was a Ferrari and Lambo killer in its heyday.
Overall, despite not being a custom build of the latest SRT Viper, it still grabs attention wherever it goes, like the original Viper used to back in ’ 92. Plus, this one has a top and outside door handles – two things that the 1992 Viper lacked.
When the last model for the previous generation Dodge Viper rolled off the assembly line, many of us took comfort in knowing that the next generation had already been confirmed for production. The new generation SRT Viper was rumored and teased for a good amount of time, building up the suspense for the new design and powerful engine. Now, it’s finally here, bringing its new look and ditching the Dodge title in the process.
The new SRT Viper has received an all-new, timeless exterior design with a new carbon-fiber hood, roof, decklid, and aluminum door panels. As a first, the Viper will be offered with LED taillamps that integrate stop-and-turn illumination in one element.
Under the hood, the new Viper features a new 8.4-liter all-aluminum, V-10 overhead-valve engine that will deliver a total of 640 HP and 600 lb-ft of torque. The new engine will be mated to an improved Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual transmission.
For the new generation, the Viper will be offered in two different versions: standard and GTS. The GTS will offer more technologically advanced solutions, like two-mode active suspension for those clients who want to enjoy it on the race track.

UPDATE 11/21/12: We have just added a series of 110 new high res images to our SRT Viper picture gallery. SRT also announced today the official performance numbers for the SRT Viper. It features a top speed of 206 mph and a 0-to-60 mph time in low-3-second range. The Viper launches through the 1/4-mile in the mid-11-second range. It is capable of running a 0-to-100-to-0 mph relay less than 12 seconds and boasts braking distance from 60 to 0 mph of 106 feet. Lastly, the SRT Viper’s coefficient of drag (Cd) is a slippery 0.369.
