Ford debuted the F-150 Lightning in 2021, and the electric truck checks almost all the boxes and can be considered as the first mainstream electric pickup truck for the masses. There are a lot of electric trucks launched in recent years, like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Endurance, the Bollinger B2, etc. But, none of them offer the all-round capability that the F-150 Lightning does.
The Ford truck comes with all the bells and whistles one can ask for, and then some more. For now, Ford has launched it in one body style and three basic trims plus an exclusive work truck model, but expect it to grow in the coming years. With all the subsidies and credits, the F-150 Lightning works out to be the cheapest full-size truck in the market today! (more on this in the ‘Pricing’ section). From the looks of it, the F-150 Lightning seems to be an all-rounder that offers good power outputs, decent range, and a lot of tech features. Ford F-150 Lightning To Come With Tank Turn Capability!
The Ford F-150 Lighting debuted in 2021, but a year later, the company is all set to officially launch it. The company had received around 200,000 reservations for the world’s best-selling truck’s electric alter-ego, but recently stopped taking any more orders for it. While the truck is sold out for the current model year is a piece of big news in itself, there’s another big news coming in, courtesy of LightningOwners.com.
As it turns out, Ford has filed a patent with the USPTO about the tank turn capability in the Ford F-150 Lightning. Looks like Ford has already started reaping the benefits of its investment in Rivian… or does this have nothing to do with it?
2023 Toyota bZ4X
Remember the RAV4 EV back in 2014, and the current-selling Prius hybrids? Toyota’s name in the electrified world is not new, but it is now more prominent with the bZ4X, which is the brand’s first EV built on the e-TNGA platform. This platform is a joint venture of both Toyota and Subaru. The newly launched Subaru Solterra is its identical cousin with many similarities, which we will talk about more later. Keeping carbon neutrality in mind, the brand is now focusing on its electrification journey, starting with the 2023 bZ4X, which stands for “Beyond Zero” and the 4X denotes its chic exterior and the overall size. As you can tell, everything you see and feel is new or has been reworked. It is good to see Toyota focusing on consumer tech and modern design aesthetics, along with the leading reliability.
Now, like every other EV, you might be wondering what the claimed range is. Well, Toyota claims about 119 MPGe combined for the front-wheel-drive models and about 104 MPGe for the all-wheel-drive models. Considering the 71.4 kWh and the 72.8 kWh battery packs, the range is not that bad either. The front-wheel-drive variants put out 201 horsepower, and adding another electric motor on the rear axle will increase it to a meager 214 horsepower. The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, Rumored To Have The Kia EV6 GT’s Heart, Spied Testing Close To Nürburgring
Hyundai has big plans for its Ioniq electric sub-brand: it will launch 23 new electric models by 2025. It all started with the launch of the Ioniq 5, and will continue with the Ioniq 6, but also an N version of the recently launched electric hatch. In fact, the next Ioniq 5 N was caught testing a few times before, but today the electric hatch has been spied testing closer to Nürburgring.

The 2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 Prototype Reveals New Rear Bumper
Hyundai is using the Ioniq moniker for quite a few years now. But, until recently, it was only used for one model. Now, Ioniq has become Hyundai’s sub-electric brand and the plan is to include a total of 23 electric models by 2025. While the first model launched under this new nomenclature was the Ioniq 5, the next few months will also see the launch of the Ioniq 6. The model has been caught playing in the snow before, and today, it is out for some more testing on the German roads.
2022 KIA EV6 - Driven
Kia aims to launch 11 new electric vehicles by 2026 and the entire portfolio starts with the 2022 Kia EV6 compact crossover. It rides on the E-GMP platform, so it shares its core with the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the soon-to-launch Genesis GV60. That said, the EV6 is a bit of a milestone for the Kia brand as it’s the very first EV from the company to be built from the ground up as an EV first as opposed to previous, EVs that were based on ICE-powered models. The EV6 has its work cut out for it, though, as it has to face models like the Volkswagen ID.4, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and – indirectly – the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Tesla Model Y.
These are all very tough models to compete with, in what’s becoming a very cutthroat segment, but the EV6 isn’t coming to the game half-cocked. It starts out at just $40,900, offers up to 310 miles of range, and can be had with up to 320 horsepower with a range-topping 576-horsepower model on the way. Clearly, the EV6 is geared to be very competitive in this segment, and it’s a space we need to watch. So, we asked Kia if we could spend some time with its new EV, and they were happy to oblige. Is the Kia EV6 truly the gamechanger it seems to be and does it stand a chance against more established EVs already on the market? The answer to these questions might surprise you.
Rimac Nevera Plays In Snow One Last Time Before Customer Deliveries Commence
Rimac, now Bugatti Rimac, unveiled the Nevera back in June 2020 as a 1,900-horsepower electric hypercar. It put every car on the market on notice because it debuted as the world’s fastest electric car with a top speed of 258 mph. Priced at over $2 million a pop, Rimac had limited the production of the Nevera to just 150 examples. The car has still not been delivered to the customers, but Rimac has shared some images and video of the Nevera’s final winter tests ahead of the first customer deliveries.
