Celebrating 100th anniversary from the birth of the company, Bentley revealed an astonishing EXP 100 GT. A massive grand tourer with Lamborghini-like scissor doors pack the electric drivetrain, yet unseen technology, incredible luxury features, and the most astounding creature comforts we have seen in a car. Ever!

The Bentley EXP 100 GT represents the ultra-posh Grand Tourer conceived for the year 2035. I feel that Bentley crafted it as an answer to the Rolls-Royce Vision 100 Concept. So, before you discard it as one more thing that will never happen, I have to tell you that it can drive by itself, it can mimic the surroundings by managing ambient inside the cabin, and it is fast!

I present to you the most incredible facts and features about the new Bentley EXP 100 GT.

Ultra-posh Grand Tourer for the Year 2035

Concept cars give us a unique look into the future. We are especially interested in concept cars by manufacturers that sit right on the leading edge of car development. Bentley is most certainly one of them.

With the ultra-posh grand tourer for the year 2035 called the EXP 100 GT, Bentley looks to transform our outlook on the future of luxurious mobility. To put that into perspective, let me tell you that the Bentley garnished the EXP 100 GT interior with the materials crafted from a 5,000-year-old oak, and leather made from grape pulp. I am not joking! It is that posh and insane. I do not believe that even the best of Rolls-Royce cars can offer such a spectacular and opulent ambiance meticulously crafted with the materials normal people would never envision to put into a car.

Bentley EXP 100 GT Is An Autonomous Concept Car

Because, of course, it is! Nineteen feet long, two-door grand tourer packs the technology that makes this barge completely autonomous. The tech can, fully autonomously, adjust the driving preferences, autonomously recharge the batteries (if needed), and allow you to select between five modes. Modes include: Enhance, Cocoon, Capture, Re-Live, and Customize - all of which are selectable by a hand-gesture system. Apart from driving you, Bentley Personal Assistant monitors occupants well-being at all times, and adjust the ambiance inside accordingly.

Obviosuly, the autonomy here goes well beyond driving. The EXP 100 GT takes care of all your needs even before you know you have them.

Mesh Grille Made Up Of 6,000 LED Bulbs

Four or so years ago, Mercedes-Benz introduced the F105 concept car. It was autonomous, it had gesture-based controls, and its grill did light up. Just like the grille on the Bentley EXP 100 GT lights up. The difference, however, is noticeable. With all those LEDs, Bentley EXP 100 GT grille can display different lights and shapes. Interestingly enough, Bentley experimented with a completely closed front grille, but this one with a lot of LEDs works better. Obviously, the grille does not feed anything. V-12 is out of the question here!

Battery-Electric Powertrain In The Bentley EXP 100 GT

Taking after basically all interpretations about futuristic personal transportation, the Bentley EXP 100 GT features a rather potent electric propulsion system. Not only can it cover 435 miles on one charge, but its 1,400 horsepower and insane 1,106 pound-feet of torque will launch it to 60 mph in less than 2.5 seconds. Somewhat incredible for a car that has 6 feet tall doors! Opened, of course!

Bentley promises 80 percent recharge in just 15 minutes. That's huge, and maybe even possible. The Bentley EXP 100 GT apparently has some next-generation batteries with far higher power density than what we can have with the lithium-ion batteries.

Honestly, considering the specs of the new Taycan, these numbers do not sound like a stretch. See, with 350 kW chargers, the Taycan battery with 96 kWh can gain 80 percent charge in just over 15 minutes. Considering that the EXP 100 GT is still 15 years away in Bentley time, I can imagine the performance Brits published about it. It does not feel like a stretch!

The Illumination Is The Work Of Lighting Artist Moritz Waldemeyer

What Mozart is for music, Moritz Waldemeyer is for lighting art. Bentley called the guy and asked him to create a unique illuminated scene of the lights on the EXP 100 GT. That is why the grill lights up as it does. Furthermore, the Flying B lights up as well, but, for me, Waldemeyer did the best job in the cabin. Blended in with the cristal surfaces, illuminated surfaces gleam with a particular character and intensity. This makes the cabin quite lovely, and kind of excellent weather you choose to have four, or only two seats in it. Yes, of course, you can decide on that!

Incredible Luxury With Scents, Glass, Wood, And Leather

The lengths Bentley designers, engineers, and ergonomy specialists went to to make the EXP 100 GT as amazing as possible are quite staggering. Not only did Bentley use Grape pulp instead of leather, or copper-infused 5,000-year-old oak for the inside, but the patterned embroidery matches on all surfaces.

It is quite staggering. If that kind of meticulousness does not tickle your fancy then get this:

-* adaptable biometric seats

-* it can record, say, the light of a sunset, and then "replay" that light whenever you like with the LEDs in the ceiling

-* a custom scent system that can replicate scents from the outside inside the car

-* special Pirelli tires that can change the shape of the threads and adjust to driving conditions

If all this sounds all too much, then you are right. It is. I don't expect any of this ever to enter the production on any large enough scale, but it is cool nevertheless.
