The car radio was invented in 1929 by American Paul Galvin, the head of Galvin Manufacturing Corporation. After they appeared customers that wanted a radio in their car needed to purchase it separately as car makers were not offering them. Galvin coined the name "Motorola" for the company's new products combining the idea of motion and radio
