When Faralli & Mazzanti->ke4126 announced the first details on the Evantra back in 2012, it revealed that the supercar would make its world debut at the 2013 Top Marques Monaco. F&M held its promise and delivered the Evantra with great improvements, including a V-8 engine in place of the original 3.5 liter flat-six engine.

If you were wondering what "Evantra" stands for, Mazzanti explains that its name comes from the ancient Etruscan language and represents an object that's unique, eternal and exclusive. It also was the name of the Goddess of immortality for the Etruscan people.

Compared to the six-cylinder version, the V-8 received a new rear wing and a series of inserts made in carbon fiber or brushed aluminum. For the interior, the company added a new roll cage made in chrome. As initially promised, the Evantra V8 will be sold in very limited qualities.

Exterior

Evantra is a two-seat coupe offered in two different bodywork versions: Pro-Body, which is made of carbon-fiber composite materials and One-Body, made from aluminum and entirely handcrafted. This version of the Evantra can be fully personalized by the client. The new V-8 version is a little bit more aggressive and will be distinguished by a new rear wing and the series of body inserts made from carbon-fiber or brushed aluminum.

Interior

Each Evantra will feature a tailor-made interior fully covered in all-natural leather. The center console offers a DAS (data acquisition system) from AIM and a Bosch audio-navigation system. The engine start button is placed on the roof panel -- in true Mazzanti spirit -- and the steering wheel features a small display that shows the actual gear. The gearbox offers two driving modes: "Strada - Street" and "Corsa - Race".

Drivetrain

Under the hood of the new Evantra, Mazzanti placed a Chevrolet-sourced, 7.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers 701 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and a peak torque of 625 pound-feet. The engine mates to a six-speed sequential gearbox and will push the car from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Top speed is rated at 217 mph.

Wheels and brakes

The new Evantra V8 sits on a set of 20-inch OZ alloy wheels wrapped in high performance tires from Continental, sized 255/30R20 up front and 305/25R20 to the rear. This supercar is stopped via a Brembo braking system with 380 mm (15-inch) discs with six-piston calipers at the front and 360 mm (14.17-inch) discs with four-piston caliper to the back.

Prices

Production of the new Evantra will be limited to only five units a year and prices start from around $800,000.

Competition

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4

Before you say anything, yes we know the Evantra has no chance in against the Aventador, but they both come from Italy, and, unfortunately for Lamborghini, they will both deliver pretty much the same performance figures. The Aventador is powered by a 6.5-liter V-12 engine with an all-wheel drive layout that produces 700 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque at 5,500 rpm. This engine will be able to get the Raging Bull to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, while blasting off a top speed of 217 mph.

Conclusion

The Evantra may be a very powerful supercar, but we’re not fans of how it looks. However, we are pretty sure that Mazzanti will manage to sell all those five units in no time.
