Pininfarina and Ferrari are two companies in the automotive industry that live and breathe pure excellence. Match them up with one of the most luxurious events of the year - the Villa d Este Concorso D’Eleganza - and the outcome is a one-off model based on either the 599 GTB Fiorano or the P540 Superfast Aperta (pictured).

Rivaling previous years’ debuts like the BMW M1 Homage and the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Corsa by Zagato, the Ferrari Super America 45 by Pininfarina is a project that was specially requested by a client from New York. It is described as a "convertible, 6 cilindri, 6000 ccm" model. While we only have the first details at the momemt, the official press release says:

"A recent and fascinating trend in the rarefied world of top end Ferrari collectors is the commissioning of one off bespoke version of high end models from Italian coach builders. Several ‘special clients’ have approached Pininfarina (and others) in recent years to build uniquely styled cars, an idea that goes back to the fifties went customers like film director Roberto Rossellini had a special car built for his wife, Ingrid Bergman. The Villa d Este is the natural setting for the exposure of such special vehicles and as well as the Glickenhaus P4/5 this year we have this very special Ferrari Super America belong to the New York."

UPDATE 05/19/2011: Ferrari has unveiled the first official details on the Superamerica 45 - another one-off model that will make its world debut this weekend at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza. The model will be distinguished by a carbon-fiber rotating hard-top with a rear screen, body colored rear buttresses, double air vents on the front wing, a specific chromed front grille and special burnished aluminum A-pillars, wing mirrors, and door handles. The model will be painted in an exclusive Blu Antille, contrasting with darker blue on the front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser. For the interior, the Superamerica 45 gets Cuoio leather trim and Blu Scuro carbon fiber details, plus the latest-generation touch-screen infotainment system.

UPDATE 05/23/2011: Marchettino has shot a pretty impressive video of the Super America 25 at the 2011 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este were the car made its debut. With the occasion we found out that the car is a custom one-off made for Peter Kalilow to celebrate his 45th anniversary. Hit the jump for the video.

The speed performance of this car would be closely related to 599 GTB. Just look on how powerful its rival car, and I have heard that 599 GTB would be the successor of the 458 Italia!

I love the wheels of this Super America! Well, I must say that it really looks like a supercar on that! However, I hope that they would truly use a powerful and efficient engine on this vehicle.

I wonder if what will really be the figure performance of this one, well the article didn’t say anything on that. Anyway, as for the looks of this one, I can say that it is absolutely looking great.

Wow! Very nice color of a race car. I think this race car is one the best race car in the world of automotive. I think if the car is V12 engine this is the best for me and for us.

I like the exterior of this car. It’s very simple design but the style is great. I want to see this in live performance.

I also wonder everything about this car. The fuel economy, the interior packages and the performance. If that is the case, we have to wait for some updates of this one and stay tuned for its specs.

Admittedly, the styling of the car is quite impressive. However, I bet this car is heavy since it uses an aluminum chassis. I wonder if this vehicle is gas guzzler?

The car looks like a huge vehicle and it makes me wonder if its gas guzzler vehicle. BTW, I wonder on what was the speed performance of the car.

Allowing the customer to request for a car that suits his / her taste is better but it some kind of pricey I think. That idea is usually for some wealthy folks that can afford that kind of service.

Wow! I like the sportiness of this car and I think it look look in a roadster version. However, I think its kind of heavy , I’m just afraid that it will affect the speed performance of the car.

Yeah, that’s probably the best part of being able to buy a Ferrari. Since they would actually allow you to get a car that is tailor made to your tastes, you get a car that is uniquely yours.

I really envy those guys who not only are able to buy Ferraris, but also have the moolah to tailor made the car to their liking. I can imagine what I would do if I were given a shot at that.

Hmm, performance figures? Well since this one is a Ferrari, then we can pretty much expect it to be pretty fast. Though probably not as fast as the Italia.

I would say that this one is really one heck of a car. Just take a look at it in the video, it really looks outstanding, especially with that violet paint job.

  (530) posted on 05.24.2011

Well now, that was fast. I thought that they would release the one off model much later. And looking at the features that they have listed, this one is definitely going to be a drool worth car.

The wheels are definitely the ones that I find eye catching on this one. They really have a certain style and class that really adds up to the car’s whole feel.

  (727) posted on 05.23.2011

Is that one a blue or a purple? Anyways, whichever colors they have on this one, I am really liking the car more. After all, this one is a Ferrari, so there is really nothing about it not to love.

  (458) posted on 05.23.2011

Well, they haven’t mentioned the figure performance of this car but I have feeling that it would similar to the Mercedes SLS. BTW, I like the glossiness of this car, hope I could test drive it.

At least, Pininfarina still have time to make a car together with the Ferrari, it seems that they form a great team. I like sportiness of this car plus the convertible version. However,
I just hope that the weight on the hard rooftop wouldn’t affect the performance of the car.

So this one is simply a one off. Now, who could be the owner of this rare car, or is it simply a design study by Pininfarina? Either way, the car really looks great.
