You might not know this, but life is hard for Ferrari owners. Not only is there the constant fear that a fire is going to break out behind your head at any given time, but since any millionaire may as well be able to buy one, there’s always the fear that you could show up to the next yacht party and have to park your 458 Italia next to someone else’s 458 Italia that looks exactly the same. Can you imagine how awful that would be? It could possibly be even more embarrassing than being seen wearing the same Hermes tie as another guy in the boardroom.

Luckily, for people with just that particular set of problems, there are companies out there that dare to do what few would ever dream of attempting and offer products to personalize or "refine" your supercar more extensively than you could from the factory. DMC Luxury is one such company, and their latest is the 2014 Ferrari 458 Italia "MCC Edition." If you have a Ferrari in need of a more visually unique look but don’t want to go all out, this may be the package for you.

The Monte Carlo Carbon Edition is an appearance package that adds a new front bumper, a carbon-fiber front lip, and two "sidely located diffusers" to the Ferrari 458 Italia, which DMC claims contributes to better road feel, not just a unique look. They also use the factory mounting brackets, which should make installation fairly simple and straightforward. With no major modifications needed to install the package, the car isn’t stuck with its new face, and the original parts could be put back in the future if need be.

Unlike DMC’s previous Monte Carlo Edition, the MCC Edition makes extensive use of carbon fiber, which they claim is held to even higher standards than what is used by Ferrari itself. The look, while not as extreme as it could be, is still quite aggressive. Whether that’s a good thing or not is a matter of personal preference, but it’s certainly going to draw more attention than a factory Ferrari 458 Italia.

Introduced as a 2010 model, the Ferrari 458 Italia was the gorgeous followup to Ferrari’s venerable F430. Packing a 4.5-liter V-8 that cranks out 570 horsepower and has a 9,000 rpm redline, it’s a beast of a car that will hit 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds. If you give it enough tarmac, it will break 200 mph. Fanatical devotion to aerodynamics led to a front end that only its mother could find attractive, but in profile, the 458 Italia is absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous. While it may not be quite as surgically precise as the Maclaren, driving one is still its own reward.

Despite stiff competition from the likes of McLaren, Audi, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Aston Martin, the 458 Italia remains the supercar to beat. Pricing starts at around $275,000 and with options, that quickly climbs, but like with most luxury goods, if you can afford it, you aren’t concerned about price.

Press Release

Just a month after launching the 458 Italia facelift "MONTE CARLO", German super car refiner DMC is stepping up the game one level further. The package that turns regular old 458 Italias into the SPECIAL look received a carbon fiber update with some special tweaks: Introducing the DMC 458 "MCC Edition":

Let’s remember: Monte Carlo is a styling package that adds the latest aggressive 2014 look to the popular Italian stallion. It means that owners of the regular 458 Italia can take their old front bumper off, and replace it with DMC’s fascia. Since the product is using the original contact brackets, installation is simple - no modification of the car is needed. Better yet, the old bumper could be stored and put back into place at any time to restore the original look.

Following DMC tradition, the bumper features an whole new, aggressive design, which resembles the latest pranking horse from Maranello. The setup includes a front bumper, a carbon fiber front lip, and sidely located bumper diffusers. The components are easy to install and support a better road feel. Compared with last month’s MONTE CARLO, the MCC Edition adds further Carbon Fiber tweaks for an even more exclusive appearance. MCC Edition naturally stands for MONTE CARLO CARBON Edition.

What makes the MCC Edition stand out is the pain-staking attention to detail: Every bit and piece that can be exposed, has been turned into Carbon Fiber, a detail not even found on the original Maranello vehicle. DMC has become famous over the years, not only for their outstanding design which usually stays in line with original values; but also for their industry leading carbon fiber quality, that often exceeds OEM standards.

Current 458 owners will love the product. If you don’t want the extreme look of DMC’s 458 ESTREMO, and if aero-packages like DMC’s 458 ELEGANTE are too aftermarket for you, then the 458 MCC Edition can turn your Italia into a monster that looks as if it just came out of the stallion factory in Italy.
