The Ferrari 458 Speciale was first introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show->ke235, bringing some much needed life back into the 458. It's hard to be the 458 when you have the LaFerrari->ke4626 and the F12berlinetta keeping you in the shadows. But the 458 Speciale is special in a lot of ways, not the least of which was the added performance boost Ferrari gave it.

German tuning firm Novitec Rosso saw what Ferrari->ke252 did and quickly reacted. Sure, the tuner might have been impressed at first, but as a company known for incredible Ferrari programs, Novitec Rosso always has an eye on improving upon near perfection.

So here it is, ladies and gentlemen. The Ferrari 458 Speciale by Novitec Rosso.

It's an incredible piece of work, although it's the kind that can be expected of Novitec Rosso. The program is comprehensive, too. From aerodynamic improvements to numerous performance kits, Novitec Rosso's program for the 458 Speciale is the kind that turns a taken-for-granted supercar->ke177 into a sparkling piece of Italian awesomeness.

Novitec Rosso's program for the Ferrari 458 Speciale is another feather in its cap, although if you look at what the tuner's wearing, there's already one too many feathers in it to begin with.

Ferrari 458 Speciale By Novitec Rosso in detail

You only need to have one look at these photos to understand how amazing Novitec Rosso's body kit for the 458 Speciale is. Take away the polished silver paint and the those gold wheels for a second. What you're left with is a lightweight body kit that features a new spoiler and blade in the front bumper.

Meanwhile, the biggest upgrades on the back include carbon-fiber moldings, a new rear wing, and a carbon-fiber diffusor with an electrically adjustable center section. There are also gill-shaped pieces for the rear quarter windows, although that one is really more of a cosmetic upgrade than anything else.

This is where it gets really exciting. The Novitec Rosso 458 Speciale will feature a handful of performance upgrades, but none are more powerful than the range-topping program that delivers incredible improvement in power and performance.

The 458 Speciale is powered by a 4.5-liter V-8 engine that produces 596 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque. With Novitec's program, those numbers jump to 627 horsepower and 422 pound-feet of torque. That equates to a faster 0 to 60 mph time of under three seconds to go with a top speed of 205 mph, which is three mph faster than the 202-mph top speed of the standard 458 Speciale.

Every Novitec engine program always comes with an accompanying exhaust system. In this case, the German tuner installed a pair of high-performance exhaust manifolds, sports catalysts and a rear muffler. Two matte-black-coated tailpipes provide improved power bursts while also producing a throatier sound that summons an even more menacing character from the 458 Speciale.

More importantly, the entire exhaust system is made from INCONEL, the very same material F1 teams use for their exhaust systems. Not only is this a cool piece of trivia, but the performance benefits of being seven kg (15.4 pounds) lighter than the stock version isn't anything to sneeze at.
