2022 Fisker Ocean
Back in March 2019, Henrik Fisker, the CEO of Fisker Inc., announced that the company is planning to build an affordable electric four-wheel-drive SUV with a range of 300 miles. But no one really took him seriously given his propensity to overcommit and under-deliver.
Make no mistake; Fisker has produced some of the most beautiful-looking vehicles to date, but the company never really hit it off. This time, however, Fisker has lived up to its word and revealed its first electric SUV at the 2020 Consumer Electronics Show. Called the Fisker Ocean, the SUV looks to be a wholesome package and has enough to take on some of the fiercest competitors in the market. But will the Ocean see the light of the day?
2019 Karma Pininfarina GT Coupe
Karma Automotive, the company that emerged after the bankruptcy of Henrik Fisker’s first automotive venture, came to the 2019 Shanghai with its own "Big Three": A flamboyant open-top concept, the revised Revero GT and this lavish and elegant two-door sports car penned by Pininfarina which could be produced in limited quantities by Pininfarina if enough buyers get together. As it’s based on the Revero’s underpinnings, it should be at least as quick and agile if not more so.
Karma has been around for a few years already, but it was seen as a stagnant company. After all, its only product has been the Revero, essentially an exercise in rebadging the Fisker Karma. In a way, it makes sense as Chinese company Wanxiang who bought Fisker’s assets (as well as a production plant and other things) paid over $149 million for them and, anyway, the Karma’s bad rep was never due to its design since it’s arguably one of the prettiest four-door GTs of the 21st century (just look at the curvaceous rear fenders).
Last year, Karma introduced the Aliso, a limited-edition version of the Revero and the company announced that only 15 will be made with a base price of $145,000, some $15,000 on top of the Revero’s base MSRP of $130,000. This luscious coupe we see here should be at least as expensive if it will be put into production. If not, just look at it in concept form and think that it’s a source of inspiration for Karma products to roll out in the near future.
The Fisker eMotion Has a Beautiful Interior
The Fisker eMotion’s debut at the Consumer Electronics Show caught a few people by surprise. The debut itself was expected, but the features in the car were more than what most people thought they’d be. The eMotion’s interior is a good example of that. In a word, it’s beautiful. That doesn’t come as a shock to those who know Henrik Fisker’s work, but in some ways, the legendary auto designer seems to have outdone himself this time.
2019 Fisker EMotion
If you’ve never heard the name Fisker before, let me give you a brief summary. The name comes from Henrik Fisker, a Danish-born entrepreneur and automotive designer currently residing in Los Angeles. Mr. Fisker worked his pen designing such show stoppers as the Aston Martin DB9, BMW Z8, Galpin-Fisker Mustang Rocket, and VLF Force 1 V10, among others. In 2007, he founded Fisker Automotive, consequently unveiling the Fisker Karma hybrid sports sedan in 2011. Long story short, the Karma didn’t pan out all that great, and Fisker resigned as chairman of the company that bore his name in 2013. But that was then, and now, Fisker has a new automotive startup, and even a new model to go with it. It’s called the EMotion, and it’s framed as a luxurious all-electric four-door with quick performance, groundbreaking solid-state battery technology, and upwards of 400 miles of range per charge, not to mention supercar good looks and Level 4 self-driving capability.
The new firm is called Fisker Inc., and the EMotion will be the company’s very first offering. But it’s not easy to break into the premium EV segment, especially when you consider all the other companies out there vying to do exactly the same. Pair that with growing competition from all the established makes currently doubling down on electric vehicles, and you’re left with odds of success akin to an ice cube’s chance in Hades.
That said, Fisker is no novice in this space. Sure, the Karma didn’t exactly pan out they way it was intended, but when consider Fisker’s vast industry connections and knowledge, Fisker Inc. might actually have a shot at making it. Yes, it’s an extremely bold endeavor, and yes, the claims getting tossed around the EMotion smell a lot like vaporware. But hey – if that guy who made PayPal can do it, why not Fisker?

Fisker eMotion Debuts with 24-inch Wheels, 400-Mile Range, and Level 4 Autonomous Capability
The Fisker eMotion has officially spread its wings at the Consumer Electronics Show. Henrik Fisker’s latest pièce de résistance is every bit the car we expected it to be. It’s sharp as a tack, has aero bits for days, and carries what can only be described as one of the funkiest door configurations of any car we’ve seen in recent memory. If you thought the Tesla Model X’s falcon doors were treats for the senses, prepare yourselves for what the eMotion has to offer.

Merry Christmas: Henrik Fisker Teases the EMotion’s Interior Just Weeks Before CES Debut
It’s been a long time coming, but the Fisker Emotion looks like it’ll be the best thing created since toilet paper… or… uh, at least since the Tesla Model S, anyway. Looking at the important bits – it could use Fisker’s new battery, so it’ll have 500 miles of range, it’s gorgeous, and is said to offer level 5 autonomy. Butterfly doors are also standard because, well, Fisker. But, the one thing we haven’t had the chance to lay eyes on yet is the interior, but that’s soon about the change as Fisker gears up for a full review at CES in January. And, before that happens, the man has decided to release a sketch showing off a basic design concept with a massive color palette followed by a shot of a door trim panel being wrapped in leather. Let’s check ‘em out…
While Ford was busy making a huge splash with the 2016 Mustang GT350, Henrik Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports pulled the covers off their super-Mustang creation, the Rocket. But this isn’t a one-off SEMA late-comer, it’s the first in a series of low-volume Mustangs set for production by GAS.
Fisker and GAS president Beau Boeckmann first started working on the idea after the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance back in August 2014. The two worked feverously to ready the design sketches and performance upgrades for the car — and boy, has it paid off.
The Rocket features a substantially reworked body with a new front end, hood, and wider fenders — all crafted from carbon fiber. Under the Rocket’s hood lies the Mustang GT’s original 5.0-liter V-8 but with a Whipple supercharger forcing air down its throat. The spinning screws give the Coyote engine an impressive 725 horsepower. It’s all routed through the ‘Stang’s six-speed manual gearbox.
Fisker and the guys at GAS didn’t stop there. The suspension is updated with fully adjustable shocks, enabling owners to dial in the style of performance they want. Large, 21-inch wheels are wrapped with Pirelli P-Zero rubber.
The Mustang Rocket will be available in very limited numbers though Galpin’s Ford dealer network or the select hand-picked Ford dealers around the world. While the company hasn’t given any official word on pricing, the talk around the LA Auto Show floor put its sticker price just over the $100,000 mark.

Henrik Fisker’s back in the news and fortunately, we’re not hear to talk about buy-outs or insolvency or whatever scrap of bad news his namesake company seemed to generate on a consistent basis in 2013. Instead, we’re here to talk about Henrik Fisker’s involvement at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Yep. Fisker’s making a comeback at a major auto show, only this time, he’s bringing Galpin Auto Sports with him. Strange as it sounds, but Fisker and Galpin Auto Sports are collaborating on a fully-customized vehicle, a model Autoblog has learned is referred to as the “Ultimate American Muscle Car.”
Quite frankly, I don’t know what that really means, although it does appear that this collaboration involves Fisker, the man and not the brand that’s about to be revived by Chinese auto-parts company Wanxiang. He may have fallen flat as a business executive, but Henrik Fisker’s design chops made him a titan in the business. Remember, he was the one largely responsible for designing the BMW Z8, the Aston Martin DB9, the Aston Martin Vantage, and of course, the Fisker Karma.
Give the man some pencils and a sketch pad, and he can create magic. Combine that with Galpin Auto Sports’ well-chronicled expertise in aftermarket customization and you have a team that could be working on an explosive muscle car with the performance to back its “Ultimate American Muscle Car” claim.
Personally, I’m preparing myself for just about anything with this mysterious project.
Details are obviously limited at this point, but rest assured, the hype train will only gain steam once we draw closer to the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show, which opens on November 18, 2014 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
