When it comes to programs for pickup trucks, like the F-150, aesthetics often take a back seat to performance and functionality upgrades.

The old adage holds true with The Sportsman Channel’s custom modification for the Ford pickup, which you will be able to see at the 2013 SEMA Auto Show.

Living up to its name as an all-around weekend adventure seeker, the since F-150 Adventure Edition was born out of requests from fans of The Sportsman Channel to see what kind of items they’d want to see in a pickup, so they could enjoy their hunting, fishing, hiking and camping excursions.

The end result is a pickup that is loaded with a bevy of custom modifications, including custom bumpers, fender flares, a six-inch lift kit, an 11,000-pound winch and a set of 20-inch all-terrain wheels from Dick Cepek Tires wrapped in Fun Country tires.

Inside, the upgrades continue with a ridiculous Maxxsonics custom audio system to go with a locked storage from TruckVault and nylon bags from Battle Lake Outdoors.

When it comes to American originals, the Ford F-150 holds esteem as one of America’s premier pickup trucks. For 2014 model, Ford continues that tradition with an F-150 that maintains this reputation, thanks to having more cab, bed, engine, drivetrain and available options than comprehensible.

Powered by either a 3.7-liter V-6; a 5.0-liter V-8; a 6.2-liter V-8; or the high-tech 3.5-liter, twin-turbo EcoBoost V-6, the F-150 can achieve up to 23 mpg highway (3.7-liter) and pull up to 11,300 pounds (3.5-liter EcoBoost and 6.2-liter V-8)

Perhaps one of Ford’s biggest hits of late is the F-150 Raptor with its Fox Racing suspension, big tires and strong 6.2-liter V-8. Pricing for a base F-150 starts at $24,215 and climbs steeply to over $55,000 for the Limited trim.

The Ford F-150 has become even more of a weekend adventure vehicle for the family, courtesy of JR Consulting. Using social media to contact fans of The Sportsman Channel, the team put together a host of items that would benefit people who hunt, fish, hike and camp. The final product was the Adventure Edition F-150, which was given a bevy of custom modifications, including a 6-inch lift kit, custom bumpers and fender flares, 11,000-pound winch and Dick Cepek all-terrain wheels and tires. The interior receivedsimilar treatment, with a Maxxsonics custom audio system that incorporated audio components from MB Quart. It also features a locked storage area from TruckVault and nylon bags from Battle Lake Outdoors. The Adventure Edition F-150 is intended to get the family off to an adventure with ease and comfort.
