Ford's bringing five brand-new Mustangs to the 2018 SEMA Show modified by five different tuners. TJIN Edition's interpretation is the only to feature the Ecoboost engine, but what it lacks in engine capacity it makes up with a purple paint job.

The Ford Mustang has been, historically speaking, one of the go-to muscle cars when it came to tuning. The tradition lives on to this day, and Ford is priding itself with this heritage. To showcase that tuners are still pushing and shoving each other for a chance to apply their treatment to the sixth-gen coupe version, the Blue Oval brings to this year's SEMA Show five Mustangs, all different from one another.

Exterior

TIJN wanted to capitalize on the Mustang's aggressive stance by making it even more fierce. For that, they dropped the car on its belly thanks to air suspension and widened all four arches with an RTR widebody to house huge golden wheels.

Up front, TJIN stands out as the only tuner who chose to have the fog lamps in yellow. There's also no mesh in the lower grille which means we have a good look at the intercooler. The widened RTR arches with the 'bolt-on' appearance made popular by the creations of Liberty Walk allowed TJIN to have the wheels quite aggressively cambered.

TJIN decided not to add any graphics over the 'Electric Purple' paint job (that's the name of the particular tint). The only contrasting elements are the front bumper lip, the rocker panels and the rear diffuser which are all black. The wing on the trunk is also in the color of the bodywork. The golden deep-dish wheels are 20-inch in diameter and come from Forgeline.

Interior

Note: Standard Ford Mustang pictured here.

Inside, TJIN traded the front seats for some Recaro Sportster CS ones in black Katzkin leather upholstery. The rear seats were reupholstered to match those at the front.

There's also a Kicker Audio system designed by LTMotorwerks. RTR parts inside include the shifter knob and the floor mats, but the steering wheel itself is left stock, as is the infotainment system.

Drivetrain

This is the only Mustang of the fleet to feature the 2.3-liter Ecoboost engine. In stock guise, the 2.3-liter Ecoboost engine puts out 285-horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 289 pound-feet of torque at 2,750 rpm. The TJIN Edition could have double the power, although that's more for bragging rights than for anything else.

Ford Performance sorted out the strut brace while the suspension is from Air Lift with VIAR compressors. Behind the big Forgeline, center-lock wheels sit Baer Grizzlie brakes.

Conclusion

The TJIN Edition Mustang GT is the flashiest of them all. The 'Electric Purple' paint from PPG stands out and actually works with the polished gold multi-piece five-spoke Forgeline wheels. Whether or not you like a Mustang sitting low on air suspension is a matter of taste, but TJIN didn't go over the top with this build.
