This is a Ford F-150 tuning program done right

Roush Performance is pulling out all the stops with its new tuning package for the Ford F-150. The program comes with upgrades and modifications to the F-150’s exterior, interior, engine, and suspension. It’s as extensive a kit as you can find for the Blue Oval’s popular hauler. It doesn’t come cheap, though. The price of turning the Ford F-150 into the Roush F-150 SC adds up to $22,999, and that doesn’t include the price of the base F-150 unit.

What Makes the Roush F-150 SC Special?

Roush Performance is famous for building some of the finest tuning kits for Ford models. The tuner is most famous for its long history of programs for the Mustang, but every so often, it turns its attention to other Blue Oval models, including the Ford F150. The new Roush SC F-150 is a rousing example of what the tuner is capable of.

The program covers all areas of the F-150, right down to the license and plate and frame.

Of course, there’s more to it than that when it comes to the tuner’s exterior upgrades.

A new front grille is part of the menu, and it even has clearance lighting. The new fender flares get the same treatment, carrying with it its own integrated clearance lighting. Apparently, the F-150 can’t have enough lights work with. A new front bumper is also available in the program, as is a set of 20-inch in-house developed wheels that are wrapped in Mickey Thompson Baja ATZP3 305/55 tires.

If you’re the type who wants to show off your ride, Roush Performance can satisfy your vanity urges, too. The tuner has a full list of badging and graphic options available for the F-150. There are graphics for the hood, fenders, and tailgate. You can even dress up your F-150 with a front windshield banner that screams Roush Performance or opt for the slightly more subtle side rocker heritage graphics. Either way, nobody’s going to confuse which tuner worked on your prized pickup.

The party continues in the interior where the F-150 gains black and carbon leather seats. It’s not the easiest material to maintain, especially if you’re the type who always gets rough and rugged with your F-150s, but it’s always a plus to see fancy leather on a pickup, let alone that looks as cool as the Ford hauler. On the functional side, Roush Performance also has a Console Vault and an off-road utility kit available for the F-150. The latter is a useful kit to have. And since Roush doesn’t waste any chances to showcase its works, the tuner is adding a serialized console badge and engine bay badge. The latter is even personally signed by the person who built the car.

Two sections in and we’re now on the doorstep of the program’s headliner. For the record, the Ford F-150 is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 engine that produces 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The numbers are impressive to a lot of people, but apparently not to Roush Performance. The tuner’s engine upgrade program for the F-150’s V-8 engine includes a number of engine calibrations, not to mention the addition of an actual supercharger. Welp. That’s definitely going to catch a lot of people’s attention. The result is as impressive as it sounds, too. With the supercharger and the engine modifications in place, the F-150’s V-8 engine now produces 650 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque.

That adds up to gains amounting to 255 horsepower and 210 pound-feet of torque. Care to flex a muscle there, Ford F-150?

The last piece of this tuning puzzle is the exhaust system. On this end, Roush is offering two options. There’s the standard dual tip Performance exhaust system and there’s the optional dual tip Active exhaust system that allows you to switch the level of sound — there are literally “loud and “quiet” modes — coming out of the pickup truck.

While it doesn’t clearly standout as the go-to tuning program for the Ford F-150, Roush Performance’s tuning package addresses a lot of perceived needs. Some customers want their F-150’s to look distinct. Others want a nice touch of luxury in the cabin. Then there are those who want more power under the hood. This program covers all those requirements, and that’s probably why it starts at $22,999. That’s for the package alone, folks. If you want to get it, you’ll need to have a Ford F-150 to give to the tuner. The pickup itself costs over $30,000 depending on the trim level.
