Hennessey, a brand notorious for tuning Ford vehicles, has launched its latest take on the Ford F-150: The Hennessey Venom 775. Hennessey is known to give massive performance boosts to its vehicles and the 2020 Venom 775 is no exception either. Transformed inside and out, the Venom 775 is also a super-quick beast, thanks to all the mods made under the hood. The company has limited the production of the Venom 775 to just 100 examples, though, so if you want one, you need to move quick.

Hennessey Venom 775 Exterior Design - What Makes it Different?

Up front, it retains the stock headlights. However, the grille is swapped with a honeycomb mesh design with a blacked-out Ford logo. All the chrome bits here are eradicated. The hood seen in the images is the Venom Ram Air Hood that is available as an option. The stock bumper makes way for Hennessey’s front bumper.

The bumper comes fitted with an LED light bar in the center and two LED lights each on either side that are immensely useful when off-roading or camping during the night. Hennessey even added an antenna at the base of the hood near the windshield on the passenger’s side. The windshield itself wears a Hennessey decal at the top.

The best angle to view the Venom 775 is from the side. The raised stance makes the truck stand out from the crowd. The sides, just like the face, lose out on all the chrome bits. The front doors receive a Venom 775 decal at the bottom. The truck rides on 20-inch black Fuel wheels wrapped in 35-inch Toyo off-road tires.

The calipers are painted red and that makes for a nice contrast. The Venom 775 is also equipped with larger fender flares to accommodate the bigger tires and complement the persona of the truck. The side of the truck bed also receives Hennessey graphics. To improve the stance and ease of entry, automatic drop-down steps have been added on here.

The rear has some interesting touches to it. The taillights are blacked out in the middle, thus giving them a mean look when in action. The tailgate itself is a standard affair with the Ford logo in the middle, 'F-150' embossed below it, and Hennessey and Venom graphics on each side. The Hennessey bumper looks solid and the cut-outs on either end receive honeycomb mesh detailing. Thanks to the raised stance, you can spot the tailpipes peeping out from the sides as well.

Interior

The dual-tone leather has ‘Venom’ stitched onto the backrests and ‘Hennessey’ on the headrests. The contrasting white stitching also looks sweet. The rear headrests, however, don’t feature the Hennessey lettering.

Other than this, there are suede and wood inserts around the cabin that make it feel plusher. It comes with a serial-numbered plaque on the dash to remind you about its exclusivity every time you step inside. Hennessey hasn’t revealed much about the interior other than this.

Drivetrain

In the stock form, the engine makes 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. However, a 2.9-liter Supercharger system changes the way this beast behaves. With all the steroids, the truck now makes 775 horses at 7,000 rpm. The torque figures aren’t revealed, though. With all the power, the Venom 775 can now sprint to 60 mph from a standstill in four seconds flat. The quarter-mile run is completed in 12.1 seconds where the truck hits a top speed of 116 mph.

The engine is equipped with an air-to-water intercooler and a high-flow air induction setup as well. The company has added a special serial numbered-plaque in the engine bay, just like the one on the dash in the cabin. Other than this, the fuel system and injectors are also upgraded for added performance. Hennessey has equipped a stainless steel cat-back exhaust system along with its HPE engine management calibration. To make sure the truck performs flawlessly on the road, the company has also done some chassis dyno tuning prior to the reveal.

Pricing

If you opt for all the optional accessories, the price goes up by $16,300. That means a full-fledged Venom package will make you lighter by $69,900. Here are the base prices for the current 2020 Ford F-150 trims:

Despite all the changes, Hennessey still offers a three-year/36,000-mile warranty on the beast.

Final Thoughts

The power figures have almost doubled, the truck is raised, and it is a limited-edition model. But, in spite of that, the package feels a tad bit overpriced. Unlike the Hennessey Goliath 700, the Venom 775 doesn’t offer different packages to choose from. But, price aside, this modified truck is one huge monster that can scare the living daylights out of you when asked to perform.

The F-Series has been the top-selling truck series for four decades. The truck is not a looker, so it does not top the list in terms of aesthetics, but it is not an eye-sore either. The F-150 comes in multiple trims and the top trim is loaded to the gill. On the flip side, the base trims are very basic and barely come with any features.

The first one is the 2.7-liter, turbocharged V-6 EcoBoost engine that produces 325 ponies and 400 pound-feet of twist. Power is sent to the wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The second EcoBoost engine is the 3.5-liter, V-6 mill that churns out 375 horses and 470 pound-feet of torque. This engine is also mated to the same 10-speed automatic gearbox. The largest of the lot is the 5.0-liter, Coyote V-8 mill that develops 395 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The maximum towing capacity is rated at 13,200 pounds.

For the Venom 775, Hennessey has chosen the latter as its starting point.
