One of the baddest and meanest trucks to have graced this year’s SEMA Show is this Ford F-250 Super Duty Baja Forged by LGE-CTS Motorsports, a California-based aftermarket company. There is nothing to not like about this truck. It looks vintage, it has the ‘Baja’ identity, and it has the old-school persona attached to it. The Baja Forged Super Duty is an all-in-one mobile command center, workshop, and campsite that will be utilized as a chase truck for the Baja Forged Ford Ranger that was launched by the company at last year’s SEMA Show. Such is the versatility of the truck that even Ford calls this the “Swiss army knife for the modern adventurer.” Need we say anything more about it?

The truck is painted in mix custom shades, but it has military green shade primarily splashed all around the body. The color pallet on this truck was made in-house using the PPG Industries Envirobase paint system. The F-250 Super Duty, just like other truck in the segment, features a big face that has drawn in polarizing opinions. But, given how beefed up this truck is, the grille looks absolutely stunning. It’s not the stock shade, but the vertical-slat detailing behind the grille is the same. Up front, there are two thick, horizontal bars in a copper-bronze shade that also house the Blue Oval logo in the middle. The lip of the hood is embossed with “SUPER DUTY” lettering.

Furthermore, the stock bumper was replaced with a custom Baja Forged front bumper. This greatly increases the approach angle as there are no extraneous plastic or metal bits. Surprisingly, there’s no skid plate underneath. The company has installed a Warn 10S winch, along with a light bar on the bumper. Although the Baja theme dictates stripping down parts to a bare minimum, it does not look that bad on this truck, despite its bulky size.

The side profile of the truck is quite intimidating, to say the least. The highlights here are the carbon fiber fenders. The company retained Ford’s telescopic wing mirrors here. They are basically mirrors that extend out so that you can get a better view of things in the back. There’s a side step as well that sits flush and is painted in black. The truck rides on 18-inch Method Race 304 NV HD wheels wrapped around 37-inch BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 tires. When viewed in images, even these mighty big tires look puny, thanks to the lift kit. The exhaust pipes are finished in black chrome to further accentuate the butch looks of the truck. LGE-CTS has equipped a Tepui Hybox rooftop tent and cargo box mounted to a custom Baja Forged roof rack to further enhance the truck's overlanding capabilities. A SR-series Pro 50-inch light bar is also installed, sourced from Rigid.

The modular flatbed opens to create a mobile workshop and is loaded with a set of Boxo Tools. The company also mounted a custom awning by ARB to the bed using special Bedside Rack Riser Mounts. The truck is also equipped with various lighting equipment that will aid in night repairs. The ARB weatherproof fridge and freezer are also included here.

The company has mounted a spare wheel and tire to the rear of the truck. To complement the Boxo tool kit, the Super Duty is also equipped with a ProEagle three-ton jack. Furthermore, there’s a heavy-duty recovery kit and ARB Pro recovery boards as well. With all this equipment, the company needed to secure the storage and transportation of gear and electronics. For this, the Super Duty was outfitted with a Ford Accessories vehicle floor console safe and Pelican protective cases all around the vehicle. Can the U.S. Military just give Ford and LGE-CTS a contract for support vehicles already?

Ford F-250 Super Duty Baja Forged by LGE-CTS Motorsports Interior

- Custom Katzkin Leather seat covers - The rear seats can be removed - Scosche interior lifestyle products - Tech panel interior storage - Cargo handling kit

Unlike many other concept trucks we’ve seen at this year’s SEMA show, LGE-CTS Motorsports has actually worked on the Ford F-250 Super Duty Baja Forged’s interior. The stock leather seats are replaced with custom Katzkin Leather seat covers. This makes the cabin look quite plush and rich. To stick to the purpose it was built for, the company has made the interior as versatile as the outside. The rear seats can be removed to allow more cabin storage. The release kit is supplied by Built Right Industries. The company also provides a tech panel interior storage and cargo handling kit. Other than this, the company says that Scosche has supplied various interior lifestyle products.

Ford F-250 Super Duty Baja Forged by LGE-CTS Motorsports Drivetrain

- 6.7-liter, V-8 Power Stroke turbodiesel mill - 450 Horsepower - 935 pound-feet of torque - ICON Vehicle Dynamics 4.5-inch lift Stage 7 suspension - Hellwig Big Wig air springs - Hellwig front and rear sway bars - TransferFlow 60-gallon fuel tank - A custom Borla DPF-back exhaust system - Pedal Commander programmer for improved throttle response

The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. The truck can tow up to 35,000 pounds and comes with a payload capacity of 7,640 pounds in stock form. Thanks to the change in ride height - and weight because of the accessories installed in the bed - the truck’s actual driving dynamics were messed up. To take care of this, the aftermarket company added a set of Hellwig Big Wig air springs along with Hellwig front and rear sway bars.

Final Thoughts

This mod by LGE-CTS Motorsports is one of the most compelling concepts at the 2019 SEMA show. This chaser-cum-support vehicle has it all; be it the macho looks, the detailed truck bed, plush interior, strong mechanicals, and carbon fiber panels. I’m quite curious to know how much this build would’ve cost the company because a hell lot of things have been done to the truck. As I mentioned earlier, this truck is a follow-up of last year’s Baja Forged Ford Ranger that debuted at the same event. What do you think will be the follow-up concept to this truck? I’m putting my money on a Baja Forged Super Duty F-450.

What is LGE-CTS?

LGE-CTS is basically family-run by two generations looking after different portfolios. Louis & Geraldine Morosan opened L&G Enterprises (LGE) in 1982 in Glendora, California. It started off as a collision repair and custom automotive paint jobs shop. The company soon got into mild modifications and complete restorations. In 2001, the couple and their daughter decided to turn one of their passions into another business venture. They opened Custom Truck Shop (CTS) where they would provide some of the coolest automotive customization accessories and perform various installations and modifications. In 2012 LGE and CTS combined offices and now operate under one roof at their original San Dimas location. The company has partnered with many automakers in the past and has featured in the SEMA show multiple times. This time around, it has partnered with Ford to build a support vehicle on the F-250 Super Duty canvas.
