Trucks seem to the hot favorites for aftermarket companies to work on. For people with deep pockets, there are companies like Hennessey and Roush. But, when you’re on a budget, you’d prefer to stick to the accessories and packages sold by the automaker itself. One Ford dealer that has gone above and beyond the factory packages is Long McArthur. The Salina, Kansas-based dealership has created many special editions in the past, like the F-150 Cattleman Edition and the F-150 Sidewinder.
Now, the company has revived one of its old packages that would give the perfect, evocative feel to the 2020 F-250. Called the Highboy, this package is based on the namesake Ford trucks sold in the 60s and 70s. This year didn’t start on a good note anyway; so, why not dial it back and live with the retro vibes?

What Are The Changes On The Outside?
The dealership mentioned that this package can be had on any F-250, irrespective of its trim, drive, or body configuration. This particular example showcased by the dealership is based on the XL four-wheel-drive trim with the STX appearance package. Firstly, the STX package includes:
-* Chrome Grille
-* Chrome Front And Rear Step Bumpers
-* STX Fender Vent Badge
-* 18-inch Cast Aluminum Wheels
-* Cruise Control
-* Sync System
-* AM/FM Stereo with MP3 Player
On the outside, the truck receives a dual-tone red and white color note. This matches well with the chrome elements on the bumpers and the grille. You can see ‘Super Duty’ embossed on the tip of the hood. Being the base trim, it doesn’t feature fog lights. The side profile looks quite smart with the off-white shade vinyl wrap running all across. The thick strip gives out the retro vibes.
Coming to truck’s shoes, the dealership opted for 18-inch Pro Comp polished steel wheels. They are wrapped around 35-inch BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tires with white lettering. The rear ‘privacy glass’ window is tinted and comes with a defogger. There is a ‘4x4 Highboy’ sticker at the end of the truck bed. Long McArthur generally designs fancy, attractive logos for its special packages. This one is a little too pale and dull for my liking. However, the truck serves the purpose.
This example also comes with trailer tow mirrors that fold and unfold manually. They are heated and comes with black mirror caps instead of chrome. The dealership has also installed running boards and a tailgate step on this F-250 XL. The roof is equipped with clearance lights. The truck bed features a K3 roll bar with four KC Daylighter auxiliary lights on top with yellow caps. The branding on the caps looks like smilies from afar. Spray-in bedliner is also thrown in as part of the package.
How Is It On The Inside?
There aren’t a whole lot of changes on the inside. Long McArthur offers a serialized dash plaque for added exclusivity. There are a few things that are added as standalone optional items by the dealership:
-* Cloth Seats
-* 40:20:40 bench seat that doubles up as an armrest in the middle
-* Carpeted Flooring with XL Floor Mats
-* Sirius XM Satellite Radio
-* Ford Pass Connect
Does It Feature Any Mechanical Changes?
Power is sent to all the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Long McArthur has installed a leveling kit that raises the front end by two-inches for an even stance at the front and back. The dealership went with Rough Country suspension for this front lift. Since the big tires and raised body would give improper speed readings, a Hypertech speedometer recalibration is done along with wheel alignment.

Final Thoughts
This package looks really good and serves the purpose of looking like a retro truck. We’ll leave it on you to decide if the truck is worth the price with all the optional accessories and packages. The dealership has clarified that this package can be applied to any configuration of the F-250 Super Duty, and you needn’t necessarily buy the ones that are with them in stock.
