The all-new Bronco has looked very impressive on paper so far and has matched the Wrangler is almost every aspect. But, in its quest to beat the leader of the pack, the biggest question still poses in front of it – can it be accessorized and fitted with various parts and equipment like the Wrangler? Well, Ford has answered this by revealing the Bronco Overland Concept. Does this make Ford’s reincarnated product look versatile?

What The Bronco Overland Concept All About?

Based on a 2021 Bronco four-door SUV Badlands series painted in Area 51 color scheme, the concept is fully equipped inside and out to take adventurers farther into the wild. Apart from the standard Badlands features, Ford has installed a Ford Performance modular steel bumper up front that houses a Warn winch. It rides on Asphalt black 17-inch Fifteen52 Turbomatic heavy-duty wheels wrapped in 35-inch BFGoodrich KM3 315/70 section mud-terrain tires.

A RIGID rack-mounted light bar and six additional RIGID POD lights in a 360 configuration are mounted at the top to illuminate the surroundings sufficiently.

The rear of the Overland Concept comes with an ARB refrigerator, cooking kit, and stove mounted to a cargo management system. The refrigerator has a slide-out tray for easy access, while a tailgate table and chairs complete the setup. The rear quarter window glass has rigid panels with MOLLE grids mounted inside for additional rear cargo area storage. Finally, Ford has mounted a tall CB antenna on the rear bumper.

The concept is equipped with stuff like:

-* High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension (H.O.S.S.) System

-* Bilstein position-sensitive dampers

-* 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that makes 270 ponies and 310 pound-feet of torque

-* Seven-speed manual transmission

These are a few of the things offered even on the Sasquatch package. Unless you’ve got a Wildtrak or the First Edition model (both of which come with the Sasquatch package as standard), we’d recommend getting the Sasquatch package on any other trim you’ve. Ford has even rectified the blunder of not offering the manual gearbox with the package. Here’s what the package includes:

-* 1.2-inch Suspension Lift-Kit

-* Higher-Mounted Fender Flares

-* 17-inch Beadlock-Compatible Wheels

-* 35-inch Mud-Terrain Tires

-* Front and Rear Locking Axles

-* An Electromechanical Transfer Case

-* Heavy-Duty Position-Sensitive Bilstein Shocks

-* Shorter Final Drive Ratio

The price is not out yet, but if you are going to take this off the road regularly, this is a package that would make the Bronco a better beast. And, with the overlanding equipment, it would make for a perfect adventure truck.

Final Thoughts

The 2021 Bronco Overland Concept is based on the four-door model and will be on display at the Bronco Super Celebration East in Townsend, Tennessee alongside the two-door and Bronco Sport 4x4 models.

This is one of the first events where people can see the models in flesh. It’s a good thing that Ford decided to showcase the Overland concept as well to give the folks in attendance an idea as to how it will look when equipped with all the gear that is poised to sell once the off-roader starts hitting the dealership.
