The Ford GT is getting a splash of color in the form of a new graphics package that prospective owners can choose from to bring life to their beloved supercar. The exclusive series, called the Ford GT Studio Collection, comes to life by way of a design collaboration between Ford Performance and Ford GT manufacturer, Multimatic.

Together, the two parties created an avenue for Ford GT owners to personalize the look and color of their supercars through this graphics package. It comes with exclusive body colors, racing stripes, trims, accents, and everything in between. Unfortunately, access to the Ford GT Studio Collection is limited to just 40 units of the Ford GT, spread out across the 2021 and 2022 model years.

What’s the Ford GT Studio Collection all about?

The Ford GT Studio Collection is the brainchild of Ford Performance and the sports car’s manufacturer, Multimatic. It’s essentially a graphics package that’s meant to bring aesthetic life to the Ford GT supercar in the event that it doesn’t do that already.

The collection even goes beyond your typical visual package, or at least that’s what Graren Nicoghosian, Multimatic’s design head, said about the GT Studio Collection.

“The combination of the stripes and accents invokes the emotion of speed and draws your eye to some of the most prominent features of the GT,” Nicoghosian said. “The fuselage, buttresses, and signature features on the headlights provide visual anchors for the graphics, guiding your eye across the vehicle.”

Essentially, the Ford GT Studio Collection is a different take at dressing up the American supercar. Ford’s not rolling out the package en masse so there’s a limited nature to it, too.

Expect these models to be some of the most highly collectible GT models in the future. Seems like Ford has a good one on its hands here.

I plan to get my hands on a 2021 Ford GT next year. Should I dress it up in the Ford GT Studio Collection?

If you want your 2021 Ford GT to look extra special, then you might seriously consider availing the GT Studio Collection. The limited availability of the package means that there’s a measure of built-in provenance attached to it that’ll do nothing but drive up prices of the GT if it turns into a collectible model in the future.

But that’s looking ahead into the future. In the near present, the GT Studio Collection will add a splash of exclusivity to your Ford GT. Ford says that there are seven standard colors included in the GT Studio Collection. You can, however, further personalize your GT with what Ford describes as an “extended palette that offers endless color combinations.”

That’s an admittedly exciting proposition in the event you’re the type who likes to go crazy when the opportunity to personalize a $300,000 supercar presents itself.

How much will it cost me to avail the Ford GT Studio Collection package?

Ford hasn’t said whether older models are eligible for the Studio Collection package, but don’t expect good news on that end if you already own an early-year Ford GT. Deliveries of the 2021 Ford GT are expected to start in the early part of 2021. That’s the earliest you can score a Ford GT wearing goodies from the GT Studio Collection.

That said, there’s no mention on how much it will cost you to avail of the GT Studio Collection package. The good news is that if you’re willing to spend $500,000 for a brand new Ford GT, then the cost of the GT Studio Collection should be a drop in the bucket.
