The EcoBoost mild-hybrid Fiesta van delivers 124 horsepower. Power recuperated is stored within a 48-volt lithium-ion, air-cooled battery back. This system also helps power some electrical systems within the van and can provide torque assistance during heavy acceleration. The auto start-stop system is capable of restarting the engine in just 350 milliseconds after the accelerator is pressed, essentially eliminating any lag when taking off from a stop. The system will shut down the engine anytime you’re coasting to a stop below 25 km/h (15 mph) even when the vehicle is in gear with the clutch pedal depressed.

Thanks to this system, the Fiesta EcoBoost van is capable of delivering a fuel efficiency rating of 5.0-liters per 100 km, or about a five-percent improvement over non-hybrid models.
