Mil-Spec Automotive is known to turn civilian Hummers to monstrous beasts. But the company has worked on trucks as well, especially the Ford F-150. This time, the company again laid its hands on the world’s best-selling truck to give it a twist of its own. The last time the company played around with one, it gave the truck steroids and bumped up the power figures to 500 horses. This time, the Michigan-based company upped the ante and tuned the truck to make 675 ponies! Called the Intrepid F-150 Supertruck, there are a whole lot of other changes that make this Ford F-150 one-of-a-kind.

What Makes The Mil-Spec Intrepid F-150 Supertruck Special?

The truck has just about enough retained to be identified as an F-150. Mil-Spec has made a lot of changes to the face. The grille is swapped with a honeycomb unit that features the aftermarket company’s logo instead of the Blue Oval. There are amber lights at the top-lip of the grille. The stock bumper is replaced with a heavy-duty Baja steel unit. Six auxiliary lights are mounted on the bumper here. There is a big skid plate at the bottom as well.

These fenders can be had in four different colors to match the body's shade. In its earlier iteration, the truck was even offered in four different exterior shades - Agate Black, Magnetic Grey, Lead Foot Grey, and Oxford White – but there’s no word for this build. The tuner has also installed an eight-light set up on the roof for some added illumination that will be immensely helpful during camping.

The Mil-Spec F-150 sits 13 inches off the ground. Coupled with the Baja bumpers, this example will boast of some excellent approach, breakover, and departure angles. The rear is pretty much the same and the Blue Oval logo is present here on the tailgate. The company also offers a low - profile roof rack mated to a bed chase rack that holds a spare tire as optional accessories. There’s no word on the tires, but the earlier F-150 build came with 20-inch Mil-Spec-inspired wheels wrapped in 37-inch Nitto Ridge Grappler tires.

On the inside, Mil-Spec has installed new leather upholstery, premium billet controls, a special steering wheel with magnesium paddle-shifters, and exclusive badging as well. The other things like the infotainment system are retained as it is.

What’s New Under The Hood?

Under the hood is a 5.0-liter, V-8 Coyote engine. In the standard form, it makes 395 horses and 400 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission. Mil-Spec, however, has bumped up the power figure. It also features a new throttle body, intake, and cat-back exhaust integrated with a special 93-octane tune. The other engine upgrades include:

-* Upgraded fuel rails

-* 47 pounds-per-hour fuel injectors

-* Air-to-liquid intercooler located within the lower intake manifold

Mil-Spec has also equipped the truck with a Baja Performance Suspension package that integrates Baja Suspension with Fox Racing shocks with new control arms and half-shafts. This allows for 12 inches of travel on all four corners. The tuner further upgraded the setup by integrating new rear shock mounts to maximize rear shock travel while retaining the F-150’s towing capabilities.

Final Thoughts

Mil-Spec hasn’t revealed pricing yet, but expect it to breach the six-digit figure. The tuner mentioned this as a “limited-edition series”, but didn’t announce how many packages will be on offer. With all the power upgrades and the changes made on the outside, this Intrepid F-150 Supertruck is a beast and will grab a lot of attention on the road.
