The 2019 Ford Focus ST is the performance-oriented version of the fourth-generation Focus, a hatchback unveiled in 2018. Introduced in February 2019, the new Focus ST brings many changes to the table, including a bigger EcoBoost engine, more power than ever, and state-of-the-art technology. Unlike its predecessors, the new Focus ST won’t come to the U.S., as Ford decided to stop offering most of its passenger cars in North America. The previous-gen Focus ST was already more powerful than its main competitor, the Volkswagen Golf GTI, and the new hatchback takes things up a notch. Rated at 276 horsepower, it’s also more powerful than the Hyundai i30 N with the Performance Package, which places the Focus ST at the top of its segment. Alongside the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, Ford also unveiled a new EcoBlue mill for diesel enthusiasts that want an alternative to the Golf GTD. Launched in 2012, the latest Focus ST was the company’s range-topping hatchback until the RS model arrived for the 2016 model year. Although the ST was revised for 2015, the drivetrain remained unchanged, as did performance. As a result, the Focus ST lost its place under the spotlight as soon as the Focus RS made its entrance. Fortunately, several tuning companies are still offering upgrades for the ST, which remains an important model in the lineup despite being some five years old as of 2017. Blood Type Racing is one of those companies, and it just unveiled a flashy package for the 2017 SEMA Show.

Described as a concept that combines "lifestyle elements of moving images with motorsports," Blood Type Racing’s Focus ST boasts several upgrades inside and out, as well as under the hood. And while the aero kit is heavily based on modern racing, the wheel design and the paint remind of flashy vehicles you usually see in the Fast & Furious franchise. What’s more, the hatchback sports a roof rack and a custom landing pad for drones. A rather awkward package for what sort of elements it combines, but more than suitable for an event like the SEMA Show.

Launched in Europe in 2005, the Focus ST was the result of FoMoCo’s desire to join the challenging hot hatch market. Offered in either a three- or five-door version, the first iteration of the ST featured revised front and rear fascias and a number of exclusive features that set it apart from the regular Focus hatches. Under the hood, the ST carried a turbocharged, 2.5-liter, five-cylinder engine based on a Volvo design. Although the regular Focus crossed the Pond in 2000, the ST version remained a no-no for the U.S. of A. until 2013. As we head into 2015, ford has unveiled a refreshed version of the peppy hatch.

The current model, which we can now purchase at any Ford dealerships, switched from the five-pot to a 2.0-liter inline-four. The turbocharged unit packs even more power, sending 252 ponies and 270 pound-feet of torque to the wheels. With all that power under the hood, the Focus ST not only sprints from 0 to 60 mph in a nippy 5.9 seconds, but it also returns up to 32 mpg on the highway.

Coming into 2015, the Focus ST is receiving its well-deserved refresh and gaining all the revised details seen on its milder, sedan brother.

The Focus ST is a real sports car with a six-speed manual and 154 mph top speed honed on German autobahns. When Shelby announced that they were bringing two models to the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, a lot of us already penciled in that one of those models would be a custom-tuned Ford Mustang. The other one, however, was still subject to speculation with the front runner being some sort of derivative for Ford’s mighty sports hatch, the Focus ST.

True enough, those who thought it was the Focus ST were proven right when Shelby unveiled the Shelby Focus ST, a "budget-minded" performance vehicle for those who can’t afford the bigger and meaner Shelby Mustang.

Limited to only 500 units, the Shelby Focus ST is, as its name suggests, a souped-up Ford Focus ST that comes with a plethora of aesthetic and performance upgrades that’ll turn your already awesome sports hatch into one that has the stamp of approval from Shelby themselves.

Ford has unveiled today the first details on the Focus ST model that will make its world debut at the Paris Auto Show later this month. While the model to be revealed in Paris is just a preview version, production model is expected to be unveiled in 2012.

Under the hood of the future Focus ST, Ford will place an unique 250 HP version of the new 2.0-liter, four-cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine. The car displayed in Paris will come with a highly distinctive sports exterior, which is finished in ’Tangerine Scream’, a dramatic new body color that reflects the new ST’s exciting and energetic character.

Next to the ST version, Ford will also be unveiling the new generation Focus that comes with more affordable technologies and features than customers have ever experienced in this critical vehicle segment. UPDATE 03/24/11: A new video of the screamin’ hot 2012 Ford Focus ST has made its way to the Web. It doesn’t get mentioned enough, especially in this supercar-obsessed world we live in today, but the Focus ST really does epitomize the term ’hot hatch’. We love everything about this car, so much so that the video, despite being only 38 seconds long, has been on our loop for pretty much the whole day. Watch it and enjoy!
