2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E
The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is an all-electric crossover than Ford unveiled in November 2019. Described as a model that expands the Mustang lineup, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E doesn’t have much in common with the muscle car. Although some of its design features are loosely based on the Mustang, the 2021 Mustang Mach-E is a full-fledged crossover and, more importantly, it’s an all-electric model. The 2021 Mustang Mach-E revives the Mach badge after 15 years, but with a big change that reflects the electric drivetrain. The battery-powered SUV will hit dealerships in 2020 and will compete against the Tesla Model Y. and Jaguar I-Pace. Let’s find out if it’s good enough in the review below.
Ford Will Debut Its Mustang-Inspired All-Electric SUV At the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show
Don’t hold your breath just yet, but it looks like the Mustang-inspired SUV will make its debut at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. Okay, so we’re reaching a little bit, but honestly, it’s not much. According to a report by The Detroit Bureau, a Ford Spokesperson as confirmed that the brand will launch a “sport-utility vehicle that will be heavily influenced by the Mustang’s traditional design” and that the public should get its “first peek at the new SUV in November.”
It doesn’t take much to do the math on this one. The Ford Mach-E, as the Mustang-based electric SUV is expected to be called, has been in the works for a while now. We’ve seen the teaser, heard the rumors, and now we have a spokesperson (unnamed as of the time of this writing) claiming that we’ll get a peak in November. Sure, this could mean that the company is going to quietly release another teaser video or a few images, but the Los Angeles Auto Show is also in November, and the company isn’t going to miss the opportunity to get vital public feedback on a concept or near-production-ready concept.
In fact, the brand really needs to hear public feedback. It almost made the mistake of calling this Electric SUV the Mach 1, and there were damn near riots in the streets. Since then, the company as pedaled back and filed a new trademark for “Mach-E,” but that name hasn’t been officially confirmed. If the company did a better job at designing this electric, Mustang-based EV then maybe we’ll see it soon enough, but if the company makes the wrong move again – much as it did with the Mach 1 name – then the company could be forced to regroup its plans for the SUV once again.

In case anyone’s forgotten, Ford’s all-electric,
inspired crossover is still happening. In fact, it’s happening sooner than you think. The long-awaited and highly controversial model is arriving in concept form later this year — the L.A. Auto Show, perhaps? — and will go on sale sometime in 2020. The yet-to-be-named model (it could be called the Mach-E) is expected to serve as Ford’s champion in the increasingly competitive electric SUV market, a segment with no shortage of new models that are arriving around the same time as the Ford electric SUV. The time for talking is over. Ford’s Mustang-inspired crossover is coming, and, for better or worse, it’s going to be one of the most important vehicles Ford has released in recent memory. Pressure? What pressure?
2018 Ford EcoSport
The second-generation Ford EcoSport was introduced back in 2012, but it didn’t arrive in the United States until 2017. That’s when Ford updated the vehicle and decided to enter the subcompact crossover market in North America. The facelifted included a revised front end design, a mildly reshaped rear end, a new infotainment system with new technology, and some revisions to the drivetrain.
A successful nameplate in Europe, the EcoSport comes to the U.S. to try and fulfill a difficult task. It has to compete against a handful of subcompact crossovers, most of which are already established players and selling like hotcakes. Its main rivals are the Honda HR-V, the Mazda CX-3, and the Nissan Kicks, which replaced the old Juke starting 2017. The long-anticipated next-generation Ford Escape has been official unveiled at the 2015 LA Auto Show. Totally revised with new looks, two new powertrains, and a slew of technology features that not only make the Escape a better crossover, but a more connected one. That will surely help drive sales in this day in age.
The new Escape hasn’t grown over the outgoing model, but does take plenty of styling details from its larger brother, the Edge. The trapezoidal grille leads into a more angular design with a more premium feel. The steeply raked windshield returns, allowing for plenty of forward visibility.
Inside, a more upscale cabin greets all five passengers. The driver now has the use of SYNC 3, Ford’s latest infotainment software. What’s more, the Escape is also debuting SYNC 3’s newest feature called SYNC Connect. Coming with a free, five-year subscription, SYNC Connect allows owners to remotely start, lock and unlock, monitor diagnostics, and track vehicle location from a securely connected smartphone.
Of course, the new Escape come with Ford’s modern assortment of safety systems, including the blind spot information system, hill-start assist, auto high-beam control, and the foot-operated rear tailgate. New for the Escape is adaptive cruise control, Enhanced Active Park Assist, Lane-Keeping System, and the Driver Alert System.

Originally introduced for the 1991 model year as a midsize SUV to replace the Bronco II, the Ford Explorer quickly became one of the most popular utility vehicles in America. Sporting a traditional body-on-frame design and powered by a 4.0-liter V-6, the first-gen Explorer was replaced in 1994. New redesigns followed in 2000, 2005 and 2010, when the fifth-generation model was launched with a modern unibody platform. Designed by former Land Rover designer Jim Holland, the fifth-gen Explorer was also the first iteration to ditch the boxy styling of its predecessor and received a host of new convenience features. The Sport trim level joined the lineup for 2013, but other than that the Explorer remained relatively unchanged in its first five years on the market. As we move onto a new model year, the current fifth-gen Explorer is getting ready to retire and make way for a facelifted version.
Launched at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show and scheduled to go on sale in mid-2015, the revised Explorer boasts revised front and rear fascias and a somewhat new design language that adds more ruggedness to its sporty appearance. The new Explorer also received an updated interior, and, more importantly, a brand-new trim level with added luxury and premium features. A brand-new engine is also on the table, as Ford decided to offer the 2.3-liter EcoBoost that debuted on the Lincoln MKC for the Explorer hoping to attract more fuel conscious buyers. Updated 11/26/2014: Ford revealed prices for the new Explorer which was unveiled the other days at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Prices will range from $30,700 for the base version and up to $52,600 for the Platinum version.

A while ago, it was rumored that Ford would unveil the 2015 Edge at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. Well, that was only partially true, as the company only brought a concept version of the vehicle, with the production version set to arrive in the upcoming months.
According to Ford, the new Edge concept is not just a design exercise as it offers "strong hints at the technology, dynamic design and premium craftsmanship that will define the company’s next global utility vehicles."
The concept is defined by a new design language and an updated interior, plus it comes loaded with lots of advanced, automated driving technologies, including self-parking and obstacle avoidance systems, which are currently under development by Ford. According to the first details offered by the company, these technologies preview "a future of semi- and fully autonomous driving options, delivering tomorrow’s technology today."

As part of One Ford, the company will launch a new crossover for sale in late 2014 that is tailored to the universal global preferences of value and style.
The new global SUV will be revealed to the world media at the 2013 LA Auto Show before going on sale almost globally by 2015. So why all the mystery about what the new world-wise five-seat crossover will be?
It is the 2015 Edge, scheduled for display in LA as lightly dressed as a concept car before going on sale in Summer 2014 all over the world.
The current Ford SUV range in Europe consists of the EcoSport and the Kuga that can be categorized as crossovers unlike the new Ford Edge that is planned for launch next year.
The EcoSport and Kuga began life as a "global models" made specifically for certain target markets.
The rest of the Ford model range comprises of hatchbacks, sedans and MPVs that have been popular with folks in continental Europe.

Okay, if you are a car nut, still have a pulse and are not excited or worried about the next-generation Mustang, then you may want to recheck your label as a car nut... I am not a big Ford fan and even I am on edge the edge of my seat about it.
This is a bang-or-bust redesign for Ford’s resident muscle car, as it has the potential to be either the Mustang II debacle all over again or the Fox Body `Stang that swooped in to save the model’s life. There is an ongoing debate on when and where the new Mustang will debut, and all of them are somehow centered around the model’s 50th anniversary.

When Steve Saleen officially regained his namesake brand, you knew it would only be a matter of time before his company would debut its first project car. That time, apparently, was at the LA Auto Show when Saleen introduced its return to the auto industry with the Saleen 351 Mustang.
"Since regaining the Saleen brand, I really want to bring it all together with the heritage that Saleen is known for," Saleen said. "With the current Saleen  Mustang model it provides all the right features to bring back and update the S351 model."
Based on the 2013 Ford Mustang, the car’s name comes from the engine used under the hood, which is a 351-cubic-inch V-8 engine tricked to deliver way more than a base Mustang.
Next to that, Saleen is offering numerous other updates to the interior and the exterior, but also an updated suspension and braking system - all made to transform the Mustang into a real beast.

A few days after Saleen announced its plans to build a modern-day 351 Mustang, another aftermarket company — Galpin Auto Sports — took to the LA Auto Show to announce its own supercar project: the Galpin Ford GTR1.
Now here we are, nearly a year later, and Galpin is all set to launch the GTR1 at the on the Concept Lawn at the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
With just under a year to fully develop and test the GTR1, Galpin took to task and creat4ed quite the monster that makes use of a 5.4-liter V-8 engine that puts down well overt 1,000 horsepower and abuses rubber by way of more than 700 pound-feet of torque.
Sure this Ford GT-inspired supercar sure does look ignorant on paper, but can it really hang with the likes of the Bugatti Veyron and Ferrari LaFerrari?

This year’s edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show has witnessed some exciting and electrifying launches by most established brands.
Being one of the most important markets for the automobile industry, most car manufacturers see it fitting to debut their new models, variants and lineups in L.A. Every auto show has its stunners and duds, and some automakers just pull out ridiculous stuff to make us giggle – whether that giggle is intended or not is up for debate.
Sadly, the L.A. Auto Show’s biggest event is already over – the press days on the 28th and 29th of November – so we have pretty much seen everything that there was to see. The show does continue through December 6th, but those are general public days where the people that may actually buy these rigs can come and get a better look at them.
The L.A. Auto Show does, essentially, close the book on the 2012 auto show season, as just a few minor shows remain, but don’t fret; the North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and its headliner – the C7 Corvette – are just around the corner.

Chevrolet’s release of the all new Camaro ZL1 at the 2011 Chicago Auto Show allowed them to reignite the muscle car wars that have been burning up the automotive websites for a good and long time. But before Chevrolet can shout out "Checkmate,"
Ford has answered the ZL1 with an update car of their own: the 2013 Shelby GT500. Recent spy shots have revealed that the company is already testing the 2013MY GT500 and it will be more powerful than ever.
The Camaro ZL1’s LSA 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine producing an estimated 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet. of torque is nothing to shake a stick at, but Ford has one-upped them once again. The Eaton M112 supercharger that is being housed in the current GT500’s V8 engine will be replaced with the more-efficient and quieter TVS unit. The V8 engine found in the 2013 model will also get modified and bumped up to 5.8L, all while producing up to 650 horsepower and making it the most powerful, factory made Mustang ever! The game continues...Your move Chevrolet.

With just one day before its official debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show, the 2013 Ford Mustang has been fully unveiled. It will be offered in four different packages: V6, GT, Boss 302, and Shelby GT500. All models will be built at the AutoAlliance International Plant in Flat Rock, Michigan with sales beginning in Spring 2012.
Changes for the 2013 MY include a more aggressive design with a more prominent grille, a new hood, and new LED signature lighting. There is also an optional GT Track Package that brings an engine cooler, an upgraded radiator, performance friction brake pads, and the same Torsen differential found on the Mustang Boss 302.
Power for the 2013 Mustang will comes from a 5.0-liter V6 that delivers a total of 420 HP - a 8 HP increase over the previous 412 HP.
"The new Mustang is the perfect example of continuing to build on excellence. It takes the greatness of the 5.0-liter and V6 and pushes the refinement to the next level," said Dave Pericak, Mustang chief engineer. "The car has been spot-on functionally and now we’re adding more features and technology to further improve the driver’s experience."
UPDATE 02/16/2012: Ford found a very interesting way to promote their latest Mustang GT model. The company has placed an advertisement page in the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition that shows a very cool Mustang and, next to it, the even hotter Dalena Henriques. If her name doesn’t sound familiar to you, it’s because the hot model doesn’t actually exist. Ford decided to have a little fun and invent a model to pair with their new Mustang. So far, it’s working. Any time someone wants to look up this "model," the only pictures they’ll find is of the Mustang. Well done, Ford!

The Ford Escape has been around since 2001 and finally entered its third generation for the 2013 model year. On the outside, the new Escape features a more modern look, with precise body lines, better aerodynamics, an active grille shutter up front, and for the first time, can be ordered with a “Ginger Ale” exterior finish. Inside, the new Escape features soft materials on the dashboard, wrapped and padded armrests, and increased cargo room. Under the hood, the new Escape is offered with a 2.5-liter engine that has been updated from the previous generation and attached to a six-speed automatic transmission. There is also 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged units up for offer to go along with four-wheel drive. To put it shortly, the new Escape was a huge departure from the outgoing model and Ford has the sales statistics to prove it.
For the 2014 model year, Ford sold a total of 295,993 models – up from just over 261,000 the year before. For 2014 and 2015, Ford sold more than 306,000 examples of the new Escape. These sales figures were made possible, in part, by some new technology like the SYNC system with MyFord Touch, and optional hands-free power liftgate, active park assist, and safety features like a blind spot information system and cross-traffic alert, to name a few. It was a long time coming, but the new Escape is finally the compact SUV that Ford needs it to be to compete in a rather competitive market. The Ford Flex entered the market for the 2009 model year, superseding the Ford Taurus X and the Ford Freestyle. Riding on the same platform as the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers, the Flex took on a what Ford considered to be a significant makeover. On the outside, the Flex got a new, single-bar grille, and redesigned headlight lenses to go with new fog lights in the lower corner of the front fascia. Outside of this, the side profile remained the same, and you need a pretty keen eye to point out any changes to the boxy and ugly rear end. Inside, the Flex got a new instrument cluster, refreshed steering wheel, electronic finish panels, new seat material and the next-gen MyFord Touch infotainment system. It should come as no surprise that there are plenty of right angles inside the cabin as well. Under the hood, the Flex can be equipped with an updated 3.5-ltier, Ti-VCT that now delivers 285 horsepower or a 3.5-liter EcoBoost that delivers an impressive 355 horsepower and offers all-wheel drive.
The Ford Flex competes in the same segment as models like the Chevy Traverse and the Toyota Highlander. The thing is, the Flex stands out almost on its own with its overall boxy design and styling inspired by the Range Rover. On the price front, however, the Flex is a strong competitor with pricing that falls almost dead even with its biggest rivals. So, does the restyled and more upscale Ford Flex have what it takes to stay strong in the highly competitive SUV market? We’re not sure, but we’ve detailed all the new Flex in our full review below.

There’s been plenty of talk about the new generation Ford Mustang coming at us in 2015, but in order to keep buyers interested in the top-selling muscle car, Ford is offering an updated version for the 2013 model year. This refreshing take on the Mustang will come with a few exterior changes as well as a power upgrade. And with only one day before its official debut in Los Angeles Ford has revealed all the details on the 2013 Mustang.
For the 2013 model year, the Ford Mustang has received a new exterior design with a more prominent grille, a new hood, and new LED signature lighting, all which give the latest Mustang a high-tech look. The standard version keeps the same 3.7-liter V6 that develops a total of 305 HP.
"We are delivering a more distinctive and emotional design presence that celebrates the total performance of Mustang," said Darrell Behmer, Mustang chief designer. "This latest Mustang design is very respectful of its heritage while continuing to look forward with a more powerful and modern look."
